Can you elaborate on what these questions mean?
Basically, do you have any ideas on what you'd like to write or illustrate.
If you don't, you can say N/A or Unsure, something along those lines.
For example, if you have a favourite character you love writing/drawing, you'd add them in the second question. And if there's story prompts/ideas that you like (say found family, or shopping trips, etc.) you'd put those in the first questions.

how will the mods proceed if one partner drops off communication for an extended period of time?
We'll do our best to contact the person but if they don't respond then we will partner you up with a pinch hitter (someone interested in covering)
Life happens sometimes and that's okay but no communication is not okay. If someone will be out of contact for a while for whatever reason, let your partner and the mods know!

Official Big Bang Timeline
This is the official timeline for Ninjago’s 2023 Big Bang! There’s some wiggle-room in the timeline, and plenty of time between check ins to get fics and art done. Please read through and make sure you’ll be able to commit before you sign up and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! :)
22nd April: Sign ups open! (the form is here)
5th May: The sign up for will close!
12-15th May: Acceptance and discord invites will be sent out.
31st May: Writer outlines due (NOT full fic, but outline of plot and pairings so artists can choose which fics they’d like)
3rd-10th June: Artists choose top ten fics to illustrate for.
12-15th June: Artist and writer pairings released.
26th June: First check in (to make sure artist and writer are in communication and everything is okay)
24th July: Second check in (updates on progress)
21st August: Third check in (updates on progress)
18th September: Fourth check in (ensuring fics and art will be ready or completed)
4th October: Final check in, all fics and art must be finalised and ready for posting.
14-16th October: Fics and art shared on Tumblr and Ao3
The shared fics and art will be reblogged onto this blog and also collected into an Ao3 collection for easy viewing.

Hi, me again.
I think I can sneak discord by my mom, but just for the duration of the event. When will the communications be starting?
The sign up form will go out by the end of this week, they'll be open for a couple of weeks. Then after they close, we'll be sending the discord invite link through tumblr to the participants so they can access the discord.
A full schedule will also be posted at the same time the sign up forms, so it'll be super clear when everything will be happening.

How will the discord server (? I think that's what it's called?) be shared?
I'm not allowed to have a discord account, so I might not be able to participate. (I'm technically not allowed to be on tumblr, but what my mom doesn't know won't kill her). The last time I got discord, she somehow found out, but I might be able to sneak it by her. Just for this, at least
So all communication and check ins will happen through the server so there's a clear place for everything.
Access to the server will be through a link that'll be sent to those signed up through the form.
You will need a discord account throughout the duration of the event, for communication with your partner and check ins with mods.
If you think you can have a discord throughout the event, you can participate, but make sure you keep mods and your partner updated.

Quick question:
Wanted to know why you have to be over 16 to participate
Because we're allowing darker themes and shipping, you have to be over 16 to participate.
If you're 15 and turning 16 this year, you will still be allowed to join in as this event will be running over a few months.

Welcome to the Big Bang!
Hello and welcome to the Ninjago Big Bang of 2023!
So, what is a Big Bang?
A Big Bang is when a group of authors write a collection of fanfiction that’s a minimum of 5,000 words (no maximum) and artists pair up with an author to draw at least one full illustration for their story. The art and fic will be posted together near the end of this year!
How will this event go?

By the end of April, sign ups will be open for artists and authors who wish to participate! All organisation and check-ins will be done in discord, so you need a discord account to participate (don’t worry, you can delete it once the event is over!). First by early June, authors will write up a summary of their fic so that artists can choose which fics they’d like to illustrate for. Then, authors and artists will be paired up. Over the next few months(June-September), artists and authors will work together on the story and the accompanying art. There will be multiple check ins to ensure that everyone is on time and then in mid October, all fics and art will be posted together on Ao3 and shared on Tumblr.

The Rules
You must be over 16 years old to participate.
There is no NSFW, but some darker themes and angst is allowed, with proper tagging/warnings.
Shipping/romance is allowed, but no Lloyd/ninja ships.
AUs and OCs are allowed but a canon character must be the focus.
Any wips for the Big Bang event must not be shared outside of the discord server (you can share it privately with friends if you wish, but it cannot be public)
Writers must write at least 5000 words and artists must draw one full illustration.
If you can’t meet any check ins, let a mod and your partner know. We will do our best to make sure that everyone is on track and will be ready for the posting period.
