I have a lot of feelings about the rise of he would not fucking say that attitudes in fandom spaces and the paralysing effect it can have on creators. As a writer i think it’s important to just write what feels true to you and not what you think others will “approve” of. Like even as a reader i have enjoyed a variety of different characterisations that all work because the writer makes them work for a particular story. And a fic that’s written out of character to some will be in character to others. Writing fic is not your job you’re not being paid it’s your hobby please. Make them as close to canon as possible. Make them completely different. Who cares! Have fun! Have so much fun! There is an audience for every kind of fic and every kind of character interpretation i promise

i find it amazing that something that gives someone else a sense of comfort is the biggest source of fear for me. i cannot imagine nothingness and it terrifies me more than the vastness of the universe. sometimes i can't sleep because i think about death and it makes me feel sick.
it's nice knowing that even if I die in the most painful way after that I will join the nothing and will not be aware that I ever existed anymore it's really comforting

He figured it out that day, when he mumbled something about a boy from school inviting him to the cinema – she didn't even ask for his name and rushed for her wallet instead. It was such a weird feeling to receive additional money from her, but she insisted. Joyce wanted to see her son outside, enjoying new places, new school and the rest of his childhood. The rest, because a large part of his childhood was somehow taken away from him.

When his mother suggested it, Severus knew it was doomed to failure. They had never done anything like this before, and the young Slytherin had the impression that there was a reason for it.
The first creak of the stairs. The first doubt. They were both coming down, he hadn't seen them yet, but he already knew the expression on his father's face. He didn't want to be here at all, he didn't want to hear it, he didn't want to see him in the robes of a school whose customs he had no idea about. But my mother thought it was a good idea.
Honestly, their conversation didn't go as bad as he thought. He even skipped commenting at the sight of a rat. They quarreled only later, when all the expenses were added up. He didn't interfere because what was he supposed to say? It was actually a bit absurd, but… It was impossible to patch up the holes left by potions. It wasn't just any hole, and he…
He really liked experimenting with them.
Maybe he should actually take better care of his things?
If you think about it, in his entire life, Tobias Snape had only seen his son in his school uniform a handful of times. Those few minutes when he and his mother returned from shopping, and she talked him into showing up, were the longest of them.
