Important Announcement!
It is with a heavy heart that I say I am done writing on Tumblr.
I gave it a lot of thought, and I realized that it would be best for me to stop writing. I just don't have the time, and all the stories I have written over the years have just drained my creativity. I can't go on writing asks anymore, which is why (I am sorry to those who sent me some) I am clearing out my inventory. If I return to write, it will be my own ideas. But again, motivation has been gone for a while.
I am not getting rid of my accounts. I want people to appreciate all the ideas and stories my precious followers have helped me create. Speaking of that, I never wanted to ghost you guys because I am super stoked that you read and liked what I wrote, which is why I type up this announcement with a heavy heart.
Furthermore, I am moving my favorite and most popular works from some of my fandoms to my Archiveofourown (The_Ginger_Masquerader45) account. And that is where I might continue to write my own stories for my fandoms, which I might copy over to Tumblr.
Until then, I thank you all for being wonderful! And I hope you live your lives to the fullest!

Secrets, Secrets are No Fun
Aliquis x F!Reader
He's finally done it. Aliquis finally has an assignment with you which he views as the perfect time to ask you out. However, will the truth he finds out ruin everything?
I know Paldean Winds is a short little series with only one episode as of this post, but I fell in love with this man. I love Arven too, but at least he's got content that I can read XD. Sorry if this story is stupid.
Tumblr media
For decades now, Naranja Academy has been the pinnacle of Pokémon education. People from over all the regions pay to come and attend there. Some people have goals to become an amazing battler, others want to pursue careers along the STEM path, and some just want to better themselves along with their Pokémon.
But either way, you gotta go through your generals, much to some people's annoyance.
"...and I think it's a good idea to learn from the past. Because of that, I'm going to put you in pairs," groans echoed from the classroom, " and you are going to write a five-page analysis on the New Island disaster."
Even more groans.
Now Aliquis was never interested in the lectures that Ms. Raifort gives. It's nothing to do with her. He's just not a history buff and is more interested in the here and now. In fact, for the most part, he just sits at his desk, head resting on his hand, as he thinks about a million other things. Like, when did he need to buy groceries next, his next battle against Nemona, and...
You brushed some hair over your shoulder, making his attention blank completely.
That was another problem. You were a complete distraction for him. Smart, beautiful, and caring. Almost too much of a sweet person to deal with his short temper. In fact, he really didn't know too much about you besides the fact you weren't really one for Pokémon battles. However, that didn't stop his daydreams from moving onto a new topic. You were now on his mind as Aliquis gazed at the back of your head from where he saw a few rows behind, and a smile or two came across his face.
So much so, he wasn't really listening to the pairings being listed.
"Aliquis and Y/N."
But THAT caught his attention, and he immediately felt his nerves beginning to build up. Everyone else got up to move and sit with their corresponding partner, and the shuffling of feet filled the room. However, Aliquis was just stuck in his chair. He couldn't feel much courage to move. That was until you came to sit next to him, not paying much attention to his obvious nervousness.
"So, how much do you know about New Island?" You asked him, straight to the point as usual. He slouched back in his chair a bit, crossed one foot over the other, and shrugged.
"About as much as anyone else. It was a lab that made some crazed Pokémon called Mewtwo, which escaped, and destroyed the whole island and everyone on it." He explained, daring to look over at you. You were quiet, looking down at your books as the murmurs of other students filled the room. Aliquis began to lean forward a bit, worried about your behavior.
But then the bell rang.
"Let's work on this at my dorm. I don't like to leave things till last minute." You said before allowing your Rotom phone to exchange numbers with his, and then you were gone before he could even say anything.
All he did know was that his face was so hot, he could probably go up to a Charizard and brag about it. He got your number AND was invited into your dorm in less than ten seconds.
Aliquis swears that Arceus was watching over him.
It's not a date.
It's not a date.
It's not a date.
He kept repeating that over and over again as he walked to your space. All you guys were going to do was work on homework...but perhaps he could slip in how you and him should go see the Million Volt Skyline. It's where he dreams of confessing to you.
However, he stops when he's about twelve steps away from your door. Doubt starts to creep into his mind when he realizes that this is the first time that you and him would actually be alone. But then out pops his Meowscarada, and the sassy Pokémon is already pushing him to the door.
"Knock it off!" He whisper-shouted at it, quick to whip out his Poké ball and return the naughty cat. But not before it could knock on your door with a smirk.
The sound of your door opening sent him into a new panic.
"I was wondering if you would show up." You said with amusement as you greeted him. Instead of your school uniform, you were watching much more casual clothes...but damn...you still looked adorable. A Sylveon was perched on your shoulder, and the friendly fairy type jumped over to his shoulder to say hello, wrapping its ribbons around him.
"Sylveon...personal space." You reminded your partner, who squeaked at you with a grin before jumping back over to your outstretched arm and back onto your shoulder.
"It's fine. I didn't mind at all." Aliquis said with a smile as you invited him in. He was amazed by how calm he was, and laughter resounded as Sylveon jumped back over to his shoulder as he walked past you.
Your room was nothing like how he thought it would be. In his mind, everything was pristine and organized. And it was, to a point. But your room was overall really cozy. Pillows and plushies lined your bed, pictures and artwork lined your wall, and a blanket was strewn on the floor with a Luxray on it. The electric type raised its head when you guys walked into the room, but then immediately lowered it when no danger was present.
"You want anything?" You asked kindly, tilting your head as you moved to lean against your kitchen counter. However, he was too busy staring around to register your question at first, so Sylveon nudged him.
"Thank you...but I'm okay." He managed to say. Then you went, and after carefully stepping over Luxray, sat on your bed.
"So," you moved your laptop to get into typing position, "shall we get started?"
With a nervous swallow, he joined you on your bed.
The two of you discussed, researched, and typed back and forth for a while. Sylveon had moved off of Aliquis and was now laying beside its trainer. The two of you were on topic, but once and a while some more personal questions came around. But you were always quick to bring it back to the homework.
"You know, what if Mewtwo isn't the evil Pokémon that people say he is?" You mused and Aliquis stopped his work to look at you. That really came out of nowhere.
"It killed people Y/N." He stated plainly, and you simply shrugged while setting your laptop aside.
"All I'm saying is that there are two sides to every story. History doesn't know how Mewtwo feels or what really happened." You stated, and Aliquis arched a brow.
"And um...you do?" He asked, skeptically but not rudely. However, you just swung your legs off the side of the bed and got up. He was now worried that he somehow did something to upset you.
"I'll be right back." You murmured as your steps patted against the floor until he heard the bathroom door shut. Aliquis now felt a whole group of Butterfree flutter around in his stomach. Did he do something wrong? What should he say when you come out? Should he ask you out to the Million Volt Skyline? Is he an idiot?
"Slyvie." His thoughts were interrupted by your partner, who was busy poking his thigh with its paw. It was looking at him intently, and it kind of freaked him out.
"What is it?" He asked the fairy type in an unsure tone.
"Ve." It simply said before hopping off the bed and landing gracefully on your desk. It then used its ribbons to open a drawer and begin fishing around in it.
Immediately, Luxray was on its feet, looking pissed.
"Ray!" "Ve! Ve!"
The two Pokémon began to argue over something that he couldn't quite place. Just as he was about to intervene (somehow without getting shocked), Luxray growled and moved to lay down as faraway as possible on its blanket with its rear to Sylveon. The fairy type simply glared at it before using its ribbons to grab the attention of Aliquis, who was now brought over to the deck.
"Sylvie." it said before bending down and clamping something in its mouth. Aliquis was able to recognize a journal, one that was obviously trying to be hidden, and your name was written on it in fine print. Sylveon nudged the book towards him with one paw, an invitation.
"I can't." He said, knowing that you would loathe him if he began to look through your belongings.
But Sylveon had already begun to open the journal, to which his eyes were glued to because of natural human curiosity, and he noticed not many words, but rather photos taped in there.
His interest has bested him, and he began to flip through the pages of your journal. Sylveon made no move to stop him, and instead appeared to be supporting his snooping with a smile on its face. There was pictures of Sylveon and Luxray respectively, and your other Pokémon soon appeared with locations and dates written on the bottom in sharpie. But then, just as he was nearing the end, one photo caught his attention.
He froze.
There was no denying it.
A picture of a, rather recent, shot of the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo rested on the page. The psychic type was resting against your bed, sleeping as Sylveon was sprawled out on its head. Aliquis blinked several times, hoping it was just some photoshop trick or something.
I mean, it had to be, right? You would've mentioned if you had Mewtwo as a Pokémon...right?
The only thing that caught his attention is when Sylveon passed by his peripheral vision, and he watched as the fairy type leaped up on a shelf where your Poké balls rested. Two were empty, representing Sylveon and Luxray, but four remained...and the very last one on the shelf was an ultra ball.
It had a weird pull on him, and he reached out to touch it. Could it possibly contain Mewtwo?
"Aliquis? What are you doing?"
He whipped around to see you standing there, your face unreadable as he nosed through your personal belonging. Sylveon whimpered a bit as it jumped off the shelf and scurried off. However, he was too stunned to even register what he had done. All Aliquis could do was lift the picture up and ask one simple question.
"Is Mewtwo your Pokémon?"
All thoughts of asking you on a date were thrown out the window.

True Colors
Mustard has you and Avery to work together for a trial. You guys end up seeing new sides of each other.
Hope someone reads this and enjoys💖
Tumblr media
You came to the Isle of Armor for reasons that you kept personal to you. Well, actually, your brother forced you to come here thinking it would help improve your confidence.
He trained with Mustard, so he figured the older man could help you as well.
Your partner pokémon was Sylveon, who's been with you since forever. He was your very first pokémon, and was the closest thing you had to a friend. So, when you arrived at the Isle, you expected to only hang out with Sylveon.
You never expected to make so many friends.
However, as you bonded with your fellow trainers, you failed to make friends with a star student of the class. Avery seemed very determined to stay belligerent with you, keeping his distance and making snarky remarks whenever possible. People described him as a bit of a bully, and you could see why. He definitely used those physic powers to his advantage.
Still, whenever you were confronted by him, you acted with kindness. It’s just who you were, and it seemed to baffle him every time.
Avery just didn’t understand you.
One day, Mustard decided to pair people up for another trial. You were paired up with Avery, being told by Mustard that you were probably the only one of his students who could put up with him. Still, the older man added that you were also probably the only one who could cause Avery to break down his walls a bit.
You were still pondering what he was talking about.
The challenge was to catch a rare and strong pokémon. Obviously, Mustard had something in mind already, and your job was to figure out what that was. Other teams have already ventured out into the wetlands as you waited for Avery with Sylveon on your shoulder.
“Seriously, what is he doing?” You asked your partner, who merely squeaked in response.
Eventually, Avery did show up, but he was dressed differently from his usual taste. He was wearing the dojo’s signature uniform, top hat gone, and his beautiful blonde locks were tied up in a high ponytail. It was clear to see that he has been working out. His gorgeous blue eyes were still hidden behind his frames, a necessity for him. The new outfit on him almost made Avery look approachable.
Handsome.
You shook your head with a blush at those words, Sylveon swatting you slightly with his ribbons. Without so much as a hello, Avery walked past you and used his physic powers to pick up his pack of supplies.
“What are you gawking at? We need to move.” Avery’s frustrated tone caught you out of your daze as he flung the pack over his shoulder. You quickly snatched up your own before following him into the wetlands.
You’ve been walking for what felt like hours with the hot sun beating down on you. Avery took the lead, walking ahead of you at a pace that you struggled to keep up with. The pack started to feel like a bundle of iron weights on your back, the sun making it ten times worse. Eventually, you began to slow down.
Normally, you’d have your Lucario come out and help you, but she didn’t like Avery much, so that was a no go.
The sun had practically melted your mind, so you almost didn’t notice when your pack was suddenly removed from your back. Perking up, you noticed Avery keeping pace with you as he lugged your bag of things onto his other shoulder. You felt flattered for some reason. Even though there was sweat dripping down his face from his own baggage, he decided to take yours as well.
“Thank you...” You said quietly, and Avery seemed taken aback from the gratitude. He widened his eyes only slightly, getting a bit flustered, before huffing and looking away with a frown.
You guessed the redness on his cheeks was from the sun.
“I can’t have you slowing us down.” He mumbled, but you still felt grateful despite the snarky comment. Whether it was from the extra weight or something else entirely, Avery stuck by your side now.
Soon, rain began to fall.
Now you and Avery were huddled together under a small tree to keep dry. The two of you were practically shoulder to shoulder, with him being taller than you. He also looked less than thrilled about the situation.
“How are we supposed to complete the trial in this? My foresight didn’t predict this.” He muttered.
“I find the rain kind of relaxing...” You said, taking in a deep breath of the moistened earth. Avery scoffed slightly.
“You would think that.” He retorted to you, and all you could do was smile. You had nothing to refute that with. Avery soon crossed his arms and stared off into the foggy forest.
“Why did you even come here?” Avery soon asked you, his voice a tone of irritation rather than curiosity. But you were just glad he was willing to make conversation.
“Well...my brother forced me.” You said with a nervous chuckle.
“Hmm...I see.” You realized that was Avery’s prompt in asking you to continue. He was definitely smarter than some people gave him credit for, if he was able to determine that there was more to your story. That, or he really didn’t care.
But you just gripped your pants in a nervous manner, which he took notice of immediately.
“My brother forced me to come here because he believed it was best for me. After my ex-boyfriend used me...than cheated on me...I had a rather low self-esteem. Not only that, but I was being picked on because of said actions. I felt so stupid...my brother could tell I needed a confidence booster, and he felt this was a safe option for me...” You explained, and you dared to glance at Avery.
He looked so horrified.
“I’m...I’m sorry...I had no idea. About the way I treated you...I’m sorry...no one deserves that...I should’ve acted more like a gentleman...” Avery stumbled over his words, clearly not used to apologizing. But you just smiled and waved him off.
“No worries. It’s all in the past and I’m doing much better now. Plus, I would much rather get picked on by you than those other people any day.” You told him, and Avery didn’t really know how to respond to that.
But you saw him get flustered slightly.
“So...why did you come here?” You wanted to change the subject, and you were ready for Avery to deny that knowledge to you. But instead, he just took a deep breath.
“I’m here to get stronger...and prove myself to my family. You see, I come from a long line of physics that run the gym here in Galar. Thus, I was destined to lead the gym before I was even born...but...my powers are only adequate.” As Avery said this, he used his talents to stop some of the raindrops. They glimmered slightly in their physic state before Avery let them plop onto the ground, watching them with disappointment.
“I think your powers are extraordinary!” You praised him, and he reacted the same as earlier when he held your things for you. He looked surprised before looking away with a fluster.
“Extraordinary to you...but an embarrassment to my extraordinary family...” He mumbled, and you took a risk. You placed a hand on his shoulder, making him tense up slightly.
“If that’s what they think...then you deserve better.” You told him with a smile. It took Avery a while, but he eventually moved his hand to rest over yours, smiling back.
“So do you...” He said in reference to your ex. His actions caused you to blush as this was a side of him you’ve never seen before. However, eventually the rain let up slightly, breaking up the moment and allowing you guys to go searching again.
But then night soon fell.
You and Avery made camp out in the forest, allowing your pokémon out of their balls to roam around a bit before getting into your tents. You expected dinner to be full of tension and perhaps some bitterness from Avery. However, he acted like a total gentleman, helping you whenever possible.
Who was this man? This wasn’t Avery.
You were beginning to realize that you had a crush on this man, despite the dislike he held with you. As you guys went to your respective tents for the night, you didn’t know how you were going to fall asleep with this knowledge on your mind. But you soon did, with Sylveon snoozing beside you.
Then came the thunderstorm.
Apparently, that break in the rain was the calm before the storm. You awoke abruptly, fear squeezing in your chest as a struck of thunder came. Sylveon was still sleeping, but you couldn’t help but feel afraid. You didn’t know why, but you always had a slight fear of thunderstorms. Normally, you’d release your other pokémon to help you calm down, but you couldn’t do that in a tent.
You don’t know what compelled you to, but you quickly snatched up Sylveon and your things before going over to Avery’s tent. As expected, he was in a daze when you suddenly barged into his personal space.
“Y/N? Why are you in...my tent?” Upon realizing that, he blushed profusely.
“I...I’m afraid of the storm...can I stay with you?” You hated that you even had to ask him. This should be something that you could handle on your own. However, you almost didn’t hear his answer. You were distracted by how adorable he looked sleepy without his glasses.
“You’re afraid of thunderstorms?” He asked you in surprise. After nodding, you expected mockery. However, he just shuffled over a bit to make room for you.
“It’s okay to be scared, I understand...I’m certainly in pyshock though...” He grinned a bit when you giggled at his pun. However, you thanked him quickly before allowing Sylveon to curl up against you as you laid down. You could hear Avery shuffle as well, and you tried to focus on sleep instead of the handsome man who laid less than a foot away from you.
Soon, a beautiful morning came with the sun shining down on the rain-covered plants.
You woke up first, seeing Sylveon curled away from you. Turning over, you almost laughed when you saw Avery. Everything about what you witnessed was an opposite to how he portrayed himself. His hair was a mess (still in a ponytail), and an arm was over his eyes as he snored cutely.
He looked just like a boy.
However, your staring must have woken him, because you soon made eye contact with his blue irises. Avery nearly shot up when he realized that you were still in here.
“Umm...good morning?” His usual cocky nature was replaced by a timid one as he rubbed the back of his neck.
“Good morning. Thank you again for letting me stay. It was a big help.” You informed him with a bright smile, making him look even more flustered.
“Don’t mention it...” He mumbled, looking away again. Eventually, you slipped out as he placed his glasses on his face physic style. With a new day, you guys decided to spend all the time looking for that strong pokémon. However, it was clear that Avery had changed as he was much more kind and helpful with you. Not to mention how nervous he seemed.
Perhaps you changed as well.
Soon evening came, and you guys have found nothing. The two of you were disappointed, but no one blamed it on the other. Eventually, you guys were making your way back to the dojo as the setting sun cast a golden glow over the land.
“Well...we didn’t find any strong-looking pokémon, but I still think I found something worth treasuring...” Avery’s voice startled you, mostly because you expected him to be too downtrodden to talk. But before you could ask what he meant, you felt Avery’s hand brush against your own. You thought it was an accident, until he did it again.
And again.
Then you did it.
Finally, he found the courage to grab your hand in his and didn’t let go.
Blushing, you looked up to see he was looking away from you again. But this time, he had a faint smile on his lips. The way he was treating you held the answer to your earlier unsaid question.
You. You were worth treasuring.
As you guys walked back, still hand-in-hand, you came to a realization as well. Avery was not the stuck-up guy that your fellow trainers told you he was. He just had such high walls put up around him for protection purposes as he always thought he had to prove himself.
Guess you were the one he finally felt comfortable enough to show his true colors to.
Upon walking inside, you guys noticed the other pairs were equally downtrodden, but they all had pokémon with them. However, Mustard just look disappointed until he spotted you two.
“Y/N! Avery! What did you bring?” He asked excitedly. However, you just looked down.
“Nothing...we found no pokémon fitting your description.” You told him, and he beamed.
“Exactly! You passed the trial!” He exclaimed, causing everyone to look baffled.
“H-Huh?!” Avery was just beyond confused as were you. Mustard then explained how you both obediently followed his words, trying your best to follow the description to a tee instead of just scrapping by.
“Not only that...but I see you both have found something far more important than some imaginary pokémon...” Mustard whispered to you both with a smirk, glancing down at your intertwined fingers.
You and Avery blushed but didn’t let go of each other’s hands as you flashed shy smiles at each other.
“Honey! Put some soup on for our winners! They’ve earned it!” He said while giving you both a wink. You and Avery continued to look overwhelmed by his words, but eventually the physic just confidently brought you into the kitchen with him.
There was the Avery you knew.
You understood that you both had a lot to explore with each other, but you knew that Avery was worth the time. It took an ex, your brother, Mustard, and a storm to prove that.
Screw the people in your guys' lives that made it hell. Now the two of you had each other, and you were glad you finally got to see the real Avery.
Don't worry, he'll take you on a real date soon.

The Beauty of The Internet
Toren realizes he’s terrible at socializing, so he downloads an app to help him. Things are going well, until he’s asked to meet in person.
Tumblr media
Another day, another panic attack. It was a normal day in Fula City with Toren trying to navigate the ever-crowded streets as the Wind Festival was back in full swing. He didn’t have his Chansey out due to how fast he was walking and knowing well enough that she wouldn’t be able to keep up.
However, he wished he knew what it was about him that made him look like a long-time resident of Fula so he could change it immediately. Far too many tourists have asked him for directions.
As he maneuvered through the streets, occasionally bumping shoulders with a stranger and making his face light up red, Toren pulled out his phone to distract himself.
A notification brought a small smile to his face, and made his face go red for a different reason.
Y/N: How was work for you today?
He’s been talking to you for months now, practically a year. The funny part was that he met you online and has no clue what you looked like.
Toren: It was busier than usual due to the Wind Festival.
You see, it was the last Wind Festival in which he was introduced to the beauty of the internet. Leave it to Callahan and Kelly to force him into something he was totally against. You’re too shy they said. You need more friends they said.
Cue him being forced onto a social media platform.
Toren was pressured into downloading an app on his phone that would allow him to chat with people from all over. The best part being that he had time to think of a response while being hidden behind a screen. It was perfect for his socially anxious self.
And then he met you on there.
The two of you started chatting, and frankly, he thought you would get sick of him. But you didn’t know how bad his anxiety was through the phone. Toren slowly started to grow confident and became less nervous whenever he saw a notification from you. Time went by, and he finally felt like he had someone that was easy to talk to.
It may sound weird, but he thinks you guys have some sort of special connection.
Y/N: The festival sounds like such fun! Speaking of...
In fact, he this is the first time in his life that he seems confident in speaking to another person, even if it’s just over text. But then, one statement from you blows it all out the window.
Y/N: I’m actually in town for that! We should meet up! It would be such fun!
Toren felt his whole demeanor just shatter.
His heart started beating a mile a minute and sweat immediately coated his palms. What does he say to that? He’s felt so comfortable in his little bubble here with you. The possibility of meeting you in person might destroy everything. What if you’re weirded out by him? What if you decide to cut things off?
But what if he says no?
Then Toren might look like the jerk, and you disliking him for that scares him way more than meeting you in the person. He would rather you think he’s weird than rude. So, with very shaky hands, he typed back a one-word response.
Toren: Sure.
Now here he stands, a couple days later, before the mirror in his bedroom. The evening light cast a golden glow into the room, practically lighting up the whole apartment due to his open door. The rise and fall of chest were shaky as he awaited the hour that you guys scheduled to meet at the park.
As the days went by since he agreed to this, he wondered how to go through it. Toren knew better than to wear his work clothes. You knew he was a scientist. So, he opted for something much more casual and nicer looking. A grey jacket over a white loose shirt with some dark blue jeans.
He’s not taking the jacket off, knowing well enough that there would be sweat stains.
As the forbidden hour approached, Toren swallowed down his nerves. Leaving his room on shaky legs, he made sure to grab his phone and apartment keys. However, before he could leave, his pokémon stopped him.
“Chansey.” She said while pointing at the kitchen table. There laid a bouquet of flowers that he bought the other day in the spur of a moment anxiety ridden state. He meant it in a polite way, but the subtle implications behind the gesture made his face explode in color.
“I-I-I can’t...n-no way...” He told his partner while shaking his hands wildly. Chansey just narrowed her eyes and shoved her trainer towards the object that was giving him such fear. He stared at the flowers for a good long while, doubt creeping in every bone of his body.
However, a gentle pressure on his back soon motivated him to pick up the bouquet. And with that, Toren went out the door with Chansey following close behind as he went to see you for the first time ever.
Toren was grateful that this time of day meant fewer people in the park. As he maneuvered with Chansey by his side, the few people that were there gave him a couple passing glances. He blushed a bit when anyone gave him a thumbs up or a smirk.
Eventually, he came to a problem.
How would he know who you were?
“A-Any idea where Y/N c-could be?” He asked his partner. Chansey chirped back in response as the pair looked around. Soon, Toren spotted someone casually sitting at the park bench. They were swinging their legs as they played on their phone. A female Meowstic was by their feet, using her psychic powers to have a ball bounce around her trainer.
As Toren stared at the person, they looked up at him, nearly causing him to shriek in fright. However, he was stunned by the enchanting beauty of e/c eyes that were framed by h/c hair.
“Are you...Y/N?” He asked without thinking, surprised how there was no stutter in his voice. You immediately perked up, a smile on your face as you nodded. Putting your phone away, you got to your feet to greet him. Your Meowstic followed, deciding to chat in her native tongue with Chansey.
“Toren! It’s so nice to finally meet you!” You said and your soft voice, even as excited as it sounded, was enough to make his heart skip a beat. He was stunned by your ethereal beauty. Toren stood stone still, mouth slightly open as he fought to find words to say. The wind swept around his wide-eyed frame, blowing his hair and flower petals every which way.
“T-These are for you.” Curse his shyness as he stuttered once again, holding the bouquet out to you. He may have terrible anxiety, but it’s not going to stop him from being a gentleman to you. Heck, even you began to look a bit shy as you accepted the gift.
“T-Thank you...You look nice.” You complimented him with a smile, causing him to nearly faint. Toren returned his thanks in full, and the two of you stood there like star-crossed lovers. Chansey looked pleased while Meowstic facepalmed herself.
“I could never bring myself to talk to people in real life, so I thought online would be a nice touch...I just get kind of shy.” You admitted when the two of you moved to sit on the bench you were previously sitting on. Toren widened his eyes at that.
“Really? Me too...People always assumed I was weird because of my anxiety.” Toren told you and you gave him a shocked look.
“No way. Same here.” You said with a grin, and he grinned back. Throughout the talk, he began to feel so comfortable. Toren was so afraid that you would be this crazy and outgoing person, but here you guys were so similar. He felt so comfortable to be himself with you that even his stutter was gone.
In fact, he knew now just how he felt about you.
As you guys reveled in each other’s company for the first time, the sun soon began to set over the sea. You stood up in awe, moving to take a picture of the sight. Toren stood up to stand beside you, also finding beauty in this peaceful evening that he was once so worried about.
It was at this time, that your pokémon decided to get mischievous.
Meowstic moved to your side and used her physic powers to push you closer to Toren. Meanwhile, Chansey moved to push her trainer closer to you. It caused the two of you to squish together.
“Meowstic!” You scolded your partner as she casually looked away. Toren was too stunned to say anything, and both of your faces turned bright red.
But despite the embarrassment, you guys stayed like that.
Despite the fear that this day brought Toren, it ended so nicely for both of you. He’s never felt so comfortable and confident around another person. He truly hoped that he would continue to get to see you because now he knows more than ever that he wants to be with you, despite the prodding that the pokémon gave you both.
But he didn’t need it anymore.
Cause when he walked you to where you were staying, he held your hand on his own decision.

It’s Just Research, Right?
You are helping Toren with some new research regarding certain pokémon moves and types. However, while you’re no scientist, his methods seem a little bizarre.
Tumblr media
You agreed to help him because, frankly, you knew it would be a struggle for him to ask for anyone else. The poor man may have found his voice after the whole incident involving the effect spore gas...which was then overshadowed by everything else. He has more friends after the event, some of them trainers which he could’ve just as easily had help from.
But he wanted help from you. After all, you’ve known Toren the longest, so he felt more comfortable.
Toren was a puddle of anxiety, which may or may not be understood by the people around him. Well, his Chansey and other pokémon always understood and were always by his side. Even your pokémon were there for him, but you knew it was for a completely different reason.
Why was he so cute?
Other people didn’t take the time to notice him like you did. The shyness was adorable, he was a good-looking guy, but what really got you falling hard was his kindness towards others. Despite his high social anxiety, he still has such a good heart towards people and pokémon. Don’t get me started on when he uses Chansey as his “emotional support pokémon”.
But could you ever tell him how you felt? You felt like he would explode from how flustered he would probably get. The poor man avoids situations like that, and you would feel awful if you ruined such a tough-to-build friendship by making him uncomfortable around you.
“Y/N, could you try a dark type move against a dragon type.” Right now, you and Toren were out in one of Fula City’s many parks. You were helping him study move types and battle tactics. The sun was already setting, but you had to wait for Toren to get off work. The two of you were in a field with your pokémon facing one another.
While you were out there to command your pokémon, Toren sat crisscross on the ground not too far away with a notebook in hand. As a trainer, you’d normally have such passion and composure when giving commands. But now your crush was here in front of you, watching you, and you felt all the butterfree in the world fluttering about inside you.
However, you couldn’t stop your occasional stares in his direction. The scene was just too cute!
Toren was sitting there, waiting patiently, with several of your pokémon around him. His Chansey was plopped beside him, watching you with a smile. Your Slyveon was curled up in his lap, occasionally wrapping his ribbons around him in comfort. Luxray was on his other side, napping, with your female Pyroar right beside him. And Lucario, she was meditating nearby. It was clear that Toren was trying to concentrate on what you guys came here for, but he kept getting distracted by the pokémon around him.
His smile and the serenity he held about him made him see like a different person, bringing a grin to your face. But when eye contact was made, you quickly focused back on your last two partners. You were still a trainer, and now was not the time to be distracted.
“Noivern, dragon pulse!”
“Zoroark, counter it with dark pulse!”
You shouted out the commands and the two complied. Noivern flapped his wings steadily and flew high up to fire the attack. Zoroark smirked as she dashed forward before using dark pulse. The two attacks hit each other and exploded into a flurry of dark and purple sparkles. Glancing over at the man, you saw him taking a picture with his phone instead of writing anything down.
Okay...what’s that about?
“Is that what you were expecting?” You asked him after a while, still confused about the whole picture thing. But you waited until he put his phone away before saying anything. You still scared him regardless, causing him to jump and scare Sylveon and Luxray at the sound of your voice.
“U-Um...what?” Toren managed to get out while trying to compose himself. You noticed him petting Sylveon in an anxious manner, but the fairy type didn’t seem to mind. In fact, there was a smile on his cute little face. You pointed back towards the battlefield with a dumbfounded expression where the trinkle of sparkles still rained down over the two pokémon, who were watching you guys.
“The pretty explosion? Weren’t you watching or were you too busy being on your phone?” You called him out on what you witnessed, causing even the pokémon to widen their eyes in shock. Sensing that the work was done, your pokémon spread out and enjoyed themselves. Except Chansey, she stayed right by her trainer’s side.
But her expression was one of worry as she patted his back. Did she know something?
“I-I-I...” Toren stuttered over his words to the point where you thought he would faint. You didn’t mean to make him so nervous, but I guess that was just his nature.
“Did anything my pokémon do today get observed? And now that I think about it, how does this help your research?” You didn’t mean to sound so accusing, but with Toren, it was the easiest way to get answers. Him and the rest of his colleagues, but mostly him, were busy studying pokémon and their relation to human diseases. What did battling have to do with it?
“L-Listen, I-” He started to talk, but his thoughts were so scattered with anxiety that he didn’t get to finish his sentence before you walked over and grabbed the notebook from his lap.
Looking through it, you were absolutely shocked to find nothing in there.
“Toren! Was all this for nothing?” You raised your voice slightly as you stared at the blank pages in disbelief. It wasn’t that you were upset, but more that you were worried. He told you that he needed this information for something important. Toren wouldn’t specify, but you cared enough to do anything he needed you to do.
You understood how he needed time to collect his thoughts, so you waited with intense eyes on him.
After a while, his response was barely audible.
“It wasn’t for nothing...” He mumbled out, avoiding your eyes. You saw him bring his hands together and wring them nervously, fiddling with the sleeves of his coat. You tilted your head in confusion, gently sitting cross-legged in front of him before setting the notebook aside.
“What?” You asked him, confused. Did you miss something? The bubbly crush feeling you got around him vanished as you were now more concerned about what was going on.
Toren bit his lip and continued to avoid eye contact. You were patient with him, but you wondered if you were going to get any information out of him. Then Chansey placed her hand on his back, lightly encouraging him to speak his mind like before. He froze, reminded himself that he can do this, and balled his hands into fists on his knees.
“It wasn’t for nothing...because I got to spend this time with you.” Toren said sincerely, his face growing more and more red the longer you stared at him. Immediately he got the wrong idea and brought his hands up in mock surrender.
“I-I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable!” He shrieked, fear gripping his entire body as Toren thought he just ruined his entire friendship with you. But you just continued to stare at him, making him grow even more flustered, until a smile creeped onto your face.
“Are you trying to say what I hope you are?” You asked him, not getting too excited just yet. Toren was at a loss for words when he heard you say that. Hope? He was so afraid to ever say anything, having kept all his feelings between himself and his pokémon, but if you were hopeful...then perhaps he had nothing to worry about anymore.
“I think so...” Toren whispered with a blush.
“I like you too!” You exclaimed, scaring him once more as you lunged forward for a hug. He was stone still as you wrapped your arms around him tightly.
“So this whole thing was just an excuse to spend time with me?” You asked him, wanting to make sure you guessed correctly.
“Y-Yes...” Toren confessed and was thankful that you couldn’t see how red his face was. Although, he was enjoying the hug, and eventually brought his arms around to hug you back. You were giddy at this knowledge and buried your face into his shoulder with a big smile.
“I’ve always wanted to say something about how I felt, but I was worried I would ruin things.” You told him.
“Same here...but that’s over now?” He asked now and you pulled away from the hug with a grin. You wanted to kiss him right then and there, but you knew Toren would be the one to take things slowly, so you restrained.
“Yes. No more worries. I’m yours.” Those words alone caused him to get flustered. But to save him any embarrassment, you hugged him again so you both could hide your red faces.
But as you embraced there on the grassy ground of the park in the evening sun, Chansey came over and joined in, happy for her trainer. Sylveon nuzzled his way into the hug, wrapping his ribbons around you both, and soon the rest of your team fumbled in as well for one big group hug.
All’s well that ends well, but who knew that Toren could be so devious? Speaking of that...
“What did you take a photo for?” You asked him and he tensed up again before confessing.
“I wanted you as my lock screen...” He confessed shyly, and you couldn’t help but find that adorable.
Well, there was no more needing to hide anymore. If he ever wanted another photo, he could just ask. Some might have found it weird, but you just found it endearing.
So as said, all’s well that ends well.
