there's a very good reason I don't live with my partner. I saw first hand what happens when you spend TOO much time with someone. My parents and grandparents were...not good relationship models, but at least I could point at them and say 'this is what I DON'T want.'

*coughs and points to my oneshot fic 'This Protector' about Morwen and Astarion* I love love love this headcanon. Something that used to be only about survival becomes more intimate than sex for them.
So it's understood that the first time Astarion feeds on tav, it is intimate. Not necessarily sexual, but there's a closeness that needs to happen. Tav has to trust him with their life.
As their relationship progresses, I wonder if how he feeds changes. The first time he is gentle of course, even cradling tavs head and making them as comfortable as he can. But he still just bites and moves on.
But maybe, as time passes, he finds himself stroking tavs hair or rubbing his thumb along their cheek while he feeds. Or taking his time so he can hold them for a while longer.
Maybe that's one of the things that makes him realise how hard he's falling for them.

I frequently google the meaning of words I used in a sentence that I just know but don't actually know what they mean. I can't explain it, but this is so true.
the problem with reading and writing leading to a strong vocabulary is that you tend to know the vibe of words instead of their meanings.
if I used this word in a sentence, would it make sense? absolutely. if you asked me what it meant, could I tell you? absolutely not.

listen to music (with lyrics) on shuffle or a randomly generated playlist and listen for lyrics that may vibe of your character(s) emotions in the scene
talk to your character(s). verbally.
watch tv/youtube/movies that may inform the character's motivations (my favourite is D&D lore videos on youtube)
zone out while watching an old favourite (movie you've seen 100 times so you don't have to pay attention to it, for example) bonus if the movie has a similar theme/setting to your story
Some of my writer’s block cures:
Handwrite. (If you already are, write in a different coloured pen.)
Write outside or at a different location.
Read.
Look up some writing prompts.
Take a break. Do something different. Comeback to it later.
Write something else. (A different WIP, a poem, a quick short story, etc.)
Find inspiring writing music playlists on YouTube. (Themed music, POV playlists, ambient music, etc.)
Do some character or story prompts/questions to get a better idea of who or what you’re writing.
Word sprints. Set a timer and write as much as you can. Not a lot of time to overthink things.
Set your own goals and deadlines.
Write another scene from your WIP. (You don’t have to write in order.) Write a scene you want to write, or the ending. (You can change it or scrap it if it doesn’t fit into your story later.)
Write a scene for your WIP that you will never post/add to your story. A prologue, a different P.O.V., how your characters would react in a situation that’s not in your story, a flashback, etc.
Write down a bunch of ideas. Things that could happen, thing that will never happen, good things, bad things.
Change the weather (in the story of course.)
Feel free to add your own.
