01.02.2024 // I'm quite inconsistent with my journalling. I've had this journal since 2021 but I want to start a new one because this one is full of sorrow, hollowness and desperation. Lately, I have been journalling daily so hopefully I'll be able fill this journal soon.
It's been a hard week. We've basically taken full custody of my step kids without notice or preparation. Money is incredibly tight due to my being out of work sick, so its been a hard week.
This weather has me feeling good. I was worried we weren't going to have any snow this winter, and snow is favorite part of winter.
I didn't get shit for sleep, but I've already gotten a lot done today:
•I've cleaned the kitchen
•I've gathered the kids' dirty clothes
•I've completed my copy editing module for the week (lecture, readings, homework, practice quizzes, and final quiz)
•I've almost finished my module for math (homework and quiz are done, one assignment left for the week)
•I'm finally starting my web classwork since the semester started. So far, I've watched two lecture videos and taken notes.
being tired all the time is such a mystery.... is it anaemia? vitamin d deficiency? chronic fatigue syndrome? depression? insomnia?? is it just the crushing weight of being alive in a capitalist society??? someone cure me
I love how different forms of art are all obsessed with each other. A book tries to capture the feeling of music, a painting tries to depict a scene in a book, a song tries to paint a picture. And it's always insufficient. No single form of art can encapsulate another form of art and capture the essence of it – but it tries, and its attempts are impossibly compelling. All the forms of art are in love with each other and spend so much time trying to express what makes the other kinds of art so lovely.
the ability to say "i dont have a tiktok" in social situations makes me feel so powerful. like the general reaction is "shock, confusion, then this weird 'thats probably a good thing' response" its so fun
