Role Model
As Mozenrath watch his long lost father and younger brother bond, he reflect how his childhood turned out.
After his mother kicked him out when he was only six, he was found by Destane and became his apprentice. However, Destane wasn't kind and grateful towards Mozenrath. He would always yell at him for every little thing. When Xerxes tries to intervene, it lead to Destane physically harming Xerxes and when Mozenrath tried to save him...he ends up physically abused. Mozenrath was always filled with fear and hatred for the only mentor he ever known. Of course, Destane died sometime in Mozenrath's teens (Mozenrath had enough and poisoned Destane's drink).
Now to be around an older male who responds in a more gentle manner feels odd but at least Cassim isn't calling Mozenrath "Useless" like his mother and Destane.

List of headcanons (Aladdin fandom)
I want to make it clear right away that these headcanons should not be considered all together, they are not small parts of the big picture. Yes, some of them are related or derive from each other, but some contradict the rest, so it is better to consider each one separately.
Clarification: the list is not final, it will be constantly supplemented and expanded.
An important note: headcanons will be understandable to those who watched all three parts of the cartoon Aladdin, as well as the series, and also read articles in fandom wiki.

1. The favorite headcanon - is Aladdin, Mozenrath, Cassim - members of the same family. Mosenrath and Aladdin are brothers (completely or only on the line of one parent - no matter, I allow almost any variation).
2. Mozenrath has Asian roots.
3. Aladdin has whip scars on his arms and back from his time as a street thief.
4. In Agrabah about 20 years ago, there was an epidemic or post-war famine or economic decline and currency collapse. During that time period, many people lost relatives, including Aladdin lost his mother and Cassim was forced to leave Agrabah to earn some money.
5. Aladdin cannot write or read, and now he is learning how to do so. Until Aladdin is literate enough, he will not be allowed to be sultan.
6. Both Mozenrath and Cassim have mental trauma. Mozenrath from his childhood and adolescence, Cassim from the first time he killed a man and from the time he returned to Agrabah to his family but found neither his wife nor his son alive (or rather, he thought that no one had survived).
7. Cassim is a Tuareg (settled in Agrabah), or at least has Tuareg roots. A bunch of others follow from this headcanon, such as:
•Cassim knows the Tuareg language, Arabic is his second language.
•Cassim speaks with an accent, and sometimes mixes Arabic with his native language.
• Cassim’s marriage was not approved by his wife’s relatives.
• Cassim’s favorite color is blue, and he mostly wears blue clothes, he observes some Tuareg traditions, and abandoned some completely or partially to please the circumstances.
That's it, only 7 items so far, I'll be adding to it gradually
8. Mozenrath respects Jasmine deep down for her character and status.
9. Mozenrath has pierced ears and sometimes wears earrings.
10. Mozenrath tried to regain his hand with various spells... His bones were scratched with the texts of spells and conspiracies, which at least somehow slow down the process of further rotting of the remaining flesh.

11. Cassim has dissociative identity disorder. One of his personalities is psychopathic and truly enjoys criminal activities.
Wtf
12. Cassim loves beautiful clothes, jewelry and various trinkets, but wears them extremely rarely in order to avoid laughter and jokes from the other people.
13. Cassim is very fond of horses (you remember he didn't want to fly on the carpet with Aladdin and he was also talked into going to Agrabah on horseback ). He has also participated in horse races several many times and still does. He also likes to do trick ringing.
Just a small update today
14. The oracle was brought to Aladdin's wedding by Mozenrath.
15. Mozenrath's skeletal hand has no feeling, which is why he became left-handed after wearing the glove.
it's time to remember about Iago:
16. Iago and Cassim became not just good adventure companions, but true friends. Iago feels much more comfortable in Cassim's campaign, since now no one shuts him up, condemns him, or turns him into anything, heh.
17. Iago doesn't particularly like to work, but he does a favor for his friend: after Cassim leaves Agrabah, Iago helps him exchange letters with his son.
18. Iago loves casinos and every time he persuades Cassim to go there. Every time they gamble, they cheat according to their usual pattern: Iago pretends that he is an ordinary and stupid parrot that a man brought with him for some reason, and at this time helps Cassim rig the cards or recognize his opponent's cards.

Okay, so as for the reasons that I absolutely ADORE the "Mozenrath is Aladdin's Brother!" AU... Prepare thyself, because I've thought about this for years.
Mozenrath would not AT ALL take to the news kindly. He would see it as the universe's way of saying that Moze is stuck with the street rat until further notice, and that further notice would be until Mozenrath gives in and accepts his family or finally succeeds in ending Aladdin's life. For reasons completely unknown to Moze, that last one never works out, and knowing his character, he would likely sooner give up his other arm than just allow Aladdin to call him family.
Cassim would be happy to see his other son 'alive' and 'well,' while Aladdin would be VERY conflicted no matter the circumstances. Al's already gone through the experience of trying to get a problematic family member back into his life, and it ended with things better, though not necessarily the happiest between the two of them. The contrast between Aladdin, who is generally more naive but has seen just how bad Mozenrath has gotten, and Cassim, who tries to be logical but has an oppurtunity to connect with his long-estranged son would be really interesting to see. ...Also, the angst.
The concept would make it official that there are no braincells among men in the family and I love that (also let us take a moment to realize that the only male with sole ownership of his own braincells in any of the movies or the series is probably Fasir.)
The fact that it would make being both a thief and a ruler who came to the 'throne' under illegitimate means a family trait. Possibly gold fever and the need for attention as well. ...Jaz, you have no idea what you're marrying into.
Mozenrath as Jasmine's brother-in-law. No, it's not creepy at all.
How would such a dilemma end? I've read many stories concerning the concept, and most end with Mozey imprisoned, free but conflicted, or redeemed at the cost of his life. Any could be a viable option considering the circumstances, but it would probably take Mozey a long time to warm up to the idea of a family. Many months or years and definitely many curses, if he warms up at all.
Aladdin is not the most popular with the people or many royals in the area due to his former status as a street rat. Being related to both a well-known thief and a man who usurped the throne from its former terrifying ruler would bring Al WAY more grief in that field.
If Moze were eventually to accept his family, then they'd be one heck of a badass trio. Cassim with his knife, Moze with dark magic and Al with just his wits... they'd be unstoppable. Imagine the stories they'd tell. Imagine the chaotic family gatherings.
"I raised two responsible sons." "You have two sons that we don't know about?"
Such a concept would touch on the idea that allowing someone in your life when you know that they've done bad things is hard, and it's an idea that so many are struggling to resolve that has no easy answers, if any answers at all. Is it lawful to allow a family member into your life if you know that they will likely hurt you or those around you, or is it more rational to keep them away and prevent yourself from being hurt?
Xerxes would want to know if Jasmine could pet him now.
Mozenrath realizing that he could have gotten both the 'royal treatment' and respect without murder if he had just been kinder to Aladdin from the beginning. He'd throw a fit over it.
Mozenrath would be the taller sibling. Mozenrath would like being the taller sibling.
There is no way that Aladdin wouldn't have already had complicated feelings towards Cassim ( @princewished said it best,) but then when you bring another son into the picture? It would be the perfect oppurtunity to explore more of Aladdin and Cassim's relationship, along with Aladdin's trauma from abandonment and how that affects his current relational issues, Cassim's tendency to live in denial and how badly Cassin's abandonment likely affected Mozenrath.
Cassim facing even more consequences for his abandonment, whether it was intentional on his side or not. The message that actions hurt people and making up for actions is not easy, if not impossible, but an attempt to do good is never in vain.
If any of the family's enemies find out about the connection, they may try to go after a specific member for ransom or so. Depending on which one it is, that could end poorly or hilariously.
Jasmine having an essential part in keeping Aladdin safe, sane, and emotionally well.

Okay, here’s a headcanon theory: Aladdin and Tangled are basically the same! Why? Let me explain.
First off, we all know that the scraped proposal plot of Mozenrath being revealed as Aladdin’s long lost brother in Aladdin and the King of Thieves. But are we really going to ignore the fact that Eugene encountered someone who looked EXACTLY like him and pretend that it’s a complete stranger?! It’s obvious that Brock is Eugene’s long lost twin brother!
Next, we have the boyfriend stealing gals: Sadira and Staylan. While Sadira is obviously more fleshed out than Staylan, we never saw Sadira after four episodes until her cameo in the third Aladdin movie!
Finally, we see a cameo of Staylan moving on with Brock. If it says anything, it’s obvious that Sadira would move on with Mozenrath had both of them were given more screen time in the movie.
