Still digesting Brokenwood 10x01... Will definitely have to watch again (and again)...

For some reason, though, it gave me a vibe of anticipating when Shepherd retires...? Like Sims teasing Chalmers about still only being a detective constable and then showing him doing quite a bit of investigating on his own. And Shepherd having Sims take the final 'gotcha' interview with the murder suspect... Just gives me 'passing the reins' vibes (even if it wasn't intentional).

Loved the plethora of recurring/regulars/townsfolk in this episode.

Looks like Gina is going back to being a bitch to Kristin...

LOVED Daniel being unable to resist solving the puzzle that was stumping Kristin, but like was respectful enough to let her have her go first. I just love him.

(Honestly, I'm into this fic primarily for weaving Kristin & Daniel's relationship into the case/work, and how it affects their friendship/relationship with others, but I do like some of the plot twists I've got outlined for the case.).

Screen Time reduced by 3+ hours this week (not trying to preach anti-screen time, people should do what they need to do to relax; but it was apparently too much for me because my eyes started bothering me a week or so ago for the first time in my life; so I need to reduce screen time for fun because I have too much screen time for work (boo!). So I decided to do some physical art, and got a bunch of watercolor paper postcards so I can also send to friends because receiving mail is like a special treat nowadays.)

Gina: Did you know that in races in Vladivostok, only the men are allowed to ride the horses? Kristin: Mm. Because the women are obviously off doing other things, like the cooking, the cleaning and the ironing.
