Yall, episode 1100 everyone??

The animation how I so very love it.

Lucci getting his ass handed to him as soon as Luffy goes God mode (literally) is one of the greatest things I've seen.

My guy really wanted to fight Luffy in the form he used to beat Kaido. I mean, I get it. He got an awakening, and he wanted a rematch to the guy he lost to two years ago and all. But cmonnn he goaded Luffy and now Luffy's basically just toying with him.

And ohoh, this episode really reminds me that the Strawhats never really saw Luffy's gear 5 form.

Sanji going

"A god? But that's Luffy and he's an idiot!"

He an idiot but he is the lovable idiot they all decided to give their loyalty to and entrust their dreams to. It's amazing.

Also Kuma's backstory is slowly approaching, and Im ready! Im ready to cry!

Ngl, I want Robin to read me bedtime stories. But not the typical happily ever after bedtime stories. I mean the grim brothers fairytale bedtime stories.

I mean the little mermaid where the ending is that she dies and turns to seafoam.

I mean the Cinderella story that ends with the stepsisters eyes getting plucked out.

I mean the little red riding hood story where they gut the wolf at the end.

Hearing her read those stories in her voice and her nonchalant tone would be terrifying and relaxing... if youre used to those kinds of stories.

Sanji's entire journey in Whole Cake Island is amazing.

Not just because the arc is great but also because we've been getting hints of his story before even Alabasta.

Spoilers under the cut. ^-^

The first clue we get is him calling himself a prince in Little Garden, then again in Alabasta. None of us really thought of it much back then cuz why would we? We got his backstory with Zeff back at the Baratie who could've guessed he would've had a 2nd backstory?

Then he drops the info that he came from the north blue back in Jaya.

And as we know of the One Piece world-

It's kind of hard to ignore that big red mountain separating the north and east blues.

Which leaves us wondering on how the fuck he was able to get to East blue and board a ship filled with chefs, then get stuck on that rock with Zeff then get adopted by him.

And let's add Sanji's insistence on being useful to people. We've seen it happen with Zeff, and it was only passed on to the strawhats when he joined.

His need to be useful and him questioning Zeff on why he was treating him so nicely wasn't exactly answered in the Baratie.

Then, we also have his reaction to Luffy and Usopp's fight back in Water 7.

How he tried to break up their argument and then him snapping at Luffy when he told Usopp to just leave.

Sanji knew what it felt like to be useless, hence the reason why he was the one to say those words to Usopp.

Then we have Thriller Bark. How he stepped in between Zoro and Kuma to sacrifice himself.

All these clues end up making sense in Whole Cake Island.

Where we learn of his biological family. Of the abuse, he endured because of his father and brothers.

And when we finally learn his full backstory and we look back on all the little clues Oda put in his story, and we see how far he planned Sanji's story.

Im sure it's highly plausible that he was ad-libbing as time went on, but there's no way you can tease a character's backstory for over 20 years and not have a solid plan involved.

Sabaody all the way to Marineford was one of Luffy's most traumatic moments in his life and his biggest defeat yet.

1st, the guy lost his crew due to kuma saving them from kizaru.

2nd, he learned about Ace's execution and powered through Impel Down and lost 10 years of his life and he was still a few minutes too late.

And 3rd was Ace's death in Marineford. Because even after he fought way past his own limit to the point that his body was failing him by the end, he still kept trying to save him. Then, in the final moments, his own brother dies in his arms.

And to add to this triple trauma trouble, he was entirely alone. No one was there to help him at his lowest, and I am sure that the Straw Hats know that fact very well, considering all of their reactions to Ace's death in the news.

While the entire Marineford saga was Luffy's biggest defeat, it was also the Straw Hat's biggest failure as a crew.

Considering how close they are with each other after just a few months or a (few days for Franky and Brook at the time), those 2 years of training either felt like an eternity or a flash in their eyes.

And when they finally get back together in Return to Sabaody, they're all so thrilled to see each other again. And on their way to Fishman Island, where after they had just been chased off the island by marines, they finally get some downtime, and they just hang out, their back to their goofy antics and witty banter.

And I wonder how much Luffy told them about Impel Down and Marineford.

If he told them about his encounter with Magellan and his loss of 10 years of his life, or how Ivankov pumped him full of hormones after begging them too, or how he was left in a catatonic state after Ace died and his rampage on Amazon Lily knowing full well that if his wounds opened he would die.

I wonder if he got nightmares about Marineford while he was on the Sunny and one of his crew members had to wake him up from it.

And I wonder if the Straw Hats are trying to help him the best they can to make up for those 2 years' worth of suffering Luffy endured mentally.

Idk just a thought.

I like to imagine when Ussop returns to Syrup Village after randomly disappearing for years he just starts telling people the stories of the grand line, and the people in his village will not believe a single word he says.

His stories would literally be like-

"Fought a guy who could eat literally everything"

"We met two giants who've been fighting for 100 years"

"The Merry got wrecked, and it came alive to save us from enies lobby"

"We fought a bunch of zombies after they stolr my friend's shadows"

"Got stuck on an island filled with food"

"After I freed some toy slaves a giant, lifted me up and called me a god"

"Defested a guy made of gas who experimented on kids"

"My captain died and became a god"

And the villagers just think he's lying again until they read the articles written about the straw hats and his bounty poster. They ask the straw hats about the stories and they confirm in full detail that they are indeed true.

Then they take a good close look at him. That the lanky, long nosed teenage boy ended up growing up into a buff, slingshot shooting sniper with the observation haki worthy of the Pirate King, and just repeatedly question how on earth that happened.

Meanwhile, Kaya is thrilled to see him back, and the Usopp pirates are fully hyping him up while he's with Kaya.
