What are the application requirements? I don't see them on the Carrds About
Thanks for the question!
In the form we ask if you have experience with zines and to send us a link to any work that you've done (example give us the twitter handle for where you post art, etc.).
There is no pre-determined 'requirement' exactly, but we'll review everything as a whole to see if you'll be a good fit for the project!

out of curiosity why for profit?
Although fan products such as fanart and fanfic tend to be free on the internet, we're asking these artists to work in our parameters and on our timeline. We would like to be able to compensate everyone for their time, energy, and for their final product as you would for any artist making something for you.

Merch Artist - Info
We've gotten a couple of questions about this, so here's some more information!
If you don't feel you can commit to a full "Artist" role, you're still welcome to apply as a "Merch Artist".
The exact nature of our digital products are still to be determined, though we have a few ideas in place. If, during the application, you have an idea for what kind of merch you'd like to create/contribute, please feel free to input it into the "Experience" question that will be on the form.

The schedule for the "Like a Bruise" Tendershipping Fanzine is as follows. Before applying, please mind the tight deadline.
Our projected release date is Halloween! (AKA: October 31st.)
April 15th - April 29th: Applications for Writers/Artists
May 3rd: Mods will notify you if you’ve been selected or not + you’ll receive the Discord link
Deadline #1 June 1st: Pitch submissions and general check in
Deadline #2 July 31st: Check in on progress, must be 50% complete
Deadline #3 September 15th: Check in on progress, must be nearing completion
Submission Date: October 1st

About
What kind of zine is this?
- This is a for-profit fanzine where the profits will be distributed amongst the contributors.
What pairing is this for?
- The main pairing is Tendershipping (Ryou Bakura x Yami Bakura). We will allow Thief King Bakura and Zorc Necrophades to be involved, however the main focus should be on Tendershipping.
What rating is the zine?
- The zine will be PG-13/R15. There will be NO 18+ content in this zine.
Can I apply if I'm a minor?
- You'll need to be over 16 in order to receive your payment through Paypal.
Is this a digital or physical zine?
- "Like a Bruise" is a digital zine, but we may do a physical run of the zines at some point in the future. We are looking into having some additional digital goodies to go with the digital zine as well!
How many contributors are you accepting?
- We are aiming for around 15-17 artists and 5-7 writers.
What are the expectations for the contributors?
- Writers will write a piece between 1,000 and 2,500 words
- Artists will have the choice between: 1 or 2 single page illustrations, a spread, or a comic (max 4 pages)
Can I get more details about the theme?
- Our theme is "Contagion". Literally meaning: 'the communication of disease from one person to another by close contact'. With a release date of Halloween, we're hoping to lean into the uneasy, the spooky, the co-dependence of this ship. You will be allowed to go as dark the rating permits!

Announcement!
Hello wonderful Tendershippers - welcome to the revamped 2024 Tendershipping Fanzine, "Like a Bruise"!
You might recognize this premise - this zine was initially promoted around March 2024 through the blog @tendershippingzine. With a change in mod team, we've worked hard to keep this project going! A huge and sincere thank you to the original mods for coming up with this idea and for working with us to make this a smooth transition.
A brief description: this will be a for-profit fanzine surrounding Tendershipping, the pairing of Ryou Bakura x Yami Bakura from Yu-Gi-Oh. The zine will be rated PG-13 and our theme will be "Contagion" - leaning into the darker side of this wonderful ship!
New applications will be going live on April 15th for Writers and Artists - more details to come!
** If you had applied during the initial applications in March, please re-apply. There are new questions and more information we would like to collect, however we'll be honouring approvals from the original round of applications.
