I've uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel. It's a tour of the Funko Hollywood store.
Tumblr media
What's different in this video from others on my channel is that I spent a couple hours to create a custom original song on Magix Music Maker. I title it, "FUNghost" and it features purchased samples and loops.
I'm kinda proud of the track because I haven't made music aside from my YouTube intro for years. I think it sounds okay. I needed to mix it better, but the groove is cool.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this latest video with the song.

I just spent the last few hours writing and editing my fan-script titled, JURASSIC LEGACY: DEEPER WOUNDS.
Tumblr media
JURASSIC LEGACY: DEEPER WOUNDS is the third feature length fan screenplay in a series I started years ago when I began my education in film.
As a huge Jurassic Park and Jurassic World fan, my dream job, my goal, is to write and act for an official Jurassic franchise cinematic entry. As a new writer with no presence in the industry, I know it's an uphill battle and may take some time. It may not ever happen!!
Until I get a voice, I'm eager to write Jurassic. So eager in fact, that I went ahead and just wrote some stories.
I take a lot of care in my scripts. I research as much as I can before writing and try to remain consistent with the official canon. But I'll admit I've goofed.
In JURASSIC LEGACY: THE CHAOS ON ISLA SORNA, for example, my first fan-script, I confused my hurricanes, something crucial to the plot of the narrative. Because it's so deeply engrained in the plot, I couldn't fix the mistake.
Recall that these are the efforts of one person with minimal feedback. I don't have readers or actors giving me advice. I don't have producers guiding the direction. I'm just one guy writing Jurassic stories for fun.
And that's what this is in the end. My fan-scripts are fun practice to share. I create these for my own pleasure and to share my passions. I do it to exercise my skill and to enjoy myself.
As I near the halfway point, I'm hoping that this entry in my series of scripts will be received kindly and inspire others.
It's going to be a strange one, I'll admit. With this story, I wanted to approach Jurassic differently. I wanted this one to be about the characters first. Their sufferings and fears and flaws. I wanted this to be an R-Rated entry as well. So, with that, I can use adult dialogue and create scenes of extreme carnage.
I'm not sure when it'll be done, but I'm hoping that by my birthday, December 22nd, I'll have a copy uploaded to AO3 and my personal website.
I may or may not share pages when I reach page 90. I'm still debating that.
I get so excited when I write these.

Hi, I'm J. Quinzelle. I'm a 36 year old aspiring screenwriter in Los Angeles. Nice to meet you, Tumblr.
Tumblr media
This Tumblr is intended to be my output. As a patient of mental health services, I struggle with anxieties and too many intruding thoughts. Due to my mental health issues, it's hard for me to keep friends, so I'm basically, save for the interactions with family, a loner.
It's not sad to be a loner, as I spend a lot of time writing. With Twitter (X) being a dumpster fire, I find my output to be unfortunately blocked. But Tumblr offers me the opportunity to vent and share on a public forum with little limit on the length of my content.
I hope to use this Tumblr to share ideas and thoughts, but to also share poetry and samples of my writing. I won't be posting daily, but I hope to make posting a frequent habit.
I do encourage you to join me on here and Instagram, Threads, and YouTube.
Thank you for having me,
-J.

Popular misconception: The core Jurassic Park is about dinosaurs. It's not. It's about this guy...
Tumblr media
It's easy to think that, given how every movie centered around the prehistoric creatures. I mean, the title is JURASSIC Park or World. Heavy emphasis on dinosaurs.
But if one was to look at the entirety of the franchise, even go as far as reading the novels, Jurassic Park seems more focused on the chaos. Cause and effect. Complex systems failing. Unpredictability.
Kind of sounds like a certain scientist now, doesn't it? In the first film, Ian Malcolm makes a speech in the nursery. While the speech is triggered by the raptor, it's not about the newborn or any other animal. He speaks on genetic power.
Ian tells how the hubris exhibited by the staff and John Hammond is a fallacy because manipulating genetics at Henry Wu's level is an untested field with unforeseen consequences. The dinosaurs are more than teeth here, they are variables. And variables can skew data.
While we see the dinosaurs running around eating people, the main narrative is summed up nicely in a popular quote from, yes, Ian; "Life finds a way."
No matter how many fences are put up or how many gene sequence gaps get filled, nature always wins. We see this with the natural repopulation by the dinosaurs in the wild. We see this even with the ending: nature handling nature as the Rex kills the Raptors. They are variables settling as the status quo shifts.
Where am I going with this? Jurassic World Dominion.
One of the biggest complaints I've seen for the sequel is that there was too much focus on the bugs and not the dinosaurs. That Fallen Kingdom promised dinosaurs in the mainland, not some locusts.
I disagree with them. Aside from the bugs, the dinosaurs had plenty of screen time and were even in Malta!!
I think the insects were a great idea, but implemented poorly. Could've been poor writing. Could've been COVID reasons during production. I like to believe that the locusts suffer from being shoved into a movie that really needed to be 2 parts. If Jurassic World Dominion was 2 parts, they could have kept the locusts and flesh them out more AND include dinos in cities.
I'm digressing.
Dominion and the locusts represent the peaking in the abuse of genetic power, told in Jurassic terms. The locusts unchecked may cause a possible extinction of the human race, all because BioSyn was blinded by its own hubris. Lewis Dodgson is dark John Hammond.
Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom said the same thing about genetic power with hybrid monsters. Hoskins talked about Raptors eating terrorists "belt buckle and all." A black market emerged. People died. All because humanity discovered how to manipulate genetics without understanding the consequences.
So, yeah, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World revolve around action scenes with dinosaurs and a beautiful shot of them here and there. But the core of the franchise, the main narrative, is not about shoving dinosaurs in front of the camera and watching them fight. It is and always has been about genetic power and the mishandling of it by arrogant men.

Did Lex Murphy Doom Them All?
Tumblr media
Just got back from watching Jurassic Park 3D in theaters for the second time (and I highly recommend you watch it at least once) and noticed how Lex Murphy was the domino to initiate the slaughter for the Isla Nublar tour.
Yes, Dennis Nedry did the hack. Yes, John Hammond was cheap. Yes, the park was always doomed.
But how did a little girl doom the cast of characters left on Isla Nublar?
Well, when the Rex gets loose and wanders, it just does... Rex things. At first, it looks at either car and then roars. But notice how soon after roaring, the Rex ignores the cars and proceeds forward.
Here's where Lex screws up...
As the Rex is leaving, she opens a crate in the back of the car and takes out a flashlight. It is when this flashlight is turned on that the Rex takes interest in the cars. Before that, it was just roaming.
With the Rex's attention, it attacks the car, causing Alan Grant to devise a rescue tactic; it being the flair technique. Then, Ian Malcolm, in an attempt to aid, copies Grant, only to be maimed. Soon after, Donald Gennaro is eaten.
Had Lex not gained the Rex's attention, the Rex could have and probably would have continued on its merry way into the island. Malcolm wouldn't need to act, so Gennaro would have stayed hidden. The cars wouldn't have been destroyed and could have served as decent shelter, so Ellie Sattler and Robert Muldoon wouldn't need to go out into the island looking for Grant and the kids.
With a present Grant and non-injured Malcolm and living Gennaro, there is literally more man power to handle the task of restarting the park systems. Ray Arnold wouldn't need to go alone into the shed, so he would stand a better chance.
Had Lex not turned on that flashlight, fatalities would be minimal and the movie would have boiled down to a bunch of guys chilling in a bunker until help arrived.
Do I have a point or is this me trying to make a butterfly effect out of nothing? I'm not hating on Lex at all! I love her character and believe she redeemed herself, if this theory is believed, by rebooting the park systems.
Am I being too tough on her?
