Word count limit for portfolio use, absolutely. Mods shouldn't be subjected to a novel when they want short stories.

But I got to disagree with the reason for needing polished fanart already for that fandom. Other pieces of fanart in a portfolio will satisfy the requirement of knowing if an artist goes too off model or is terrible with likenesses.

Honestly the only good reason for asking for fanart of the fandom already done, is the zine is then 1) collecting artist already passionate about the fandom and 2) those artist come with already established followers in fandom to buy the zine. Which is perfectly a ok.

Seeing the complaints about application requirements on here is so weird. They ask you to do things like have a piece with characters relevant to the fandom of the zine to make sure you won't be off-model. Word count limits are so they don't take six months to review writing applications. If you actually want to be in the zine, follow the instructions. It's not hard.

Completed in last night's stream. It was nice to break away and do some simple cartoons after that intense digital painting and studies I have done lately.

Streamed a 2 hour study last night of the tart, I added a quick bg and spoon to complete it.

Been a while since I’ve done a full piece, suffering from art block so I decided to join a twitch streamer’s (User: Marmewa) art contest celebration because she draws pin ups which isn’t something I normally do.  Thought it might kick start the drive again.  I think I’m still a little art blocked, but I’m not totally unhappy with the result.
