Throwback to my end of year installation.
The polaroids say ‘i love you bitch’ in binary, where a polaroid represented a 0 and the empty space (about the width of half a polaroid) represented 1s.

part of a series titled reclamation, in which I documented parts of my body (in this case, my tattoos), in an effort to reclaim my body, a body I’ve felt disconnected from and which has survived abuse, assault, and self-hatred.

frenetic, 2022
part of the series dys/eu PHORIA
dys/eu PHORIA began as a photographic document of parts of my body that I had worked to love or accept, as well as modifications I made to my body to create joy.
This ongoing series contains meditations on what it means to embody dysphoric experiences: the alienation experienced by survivors of sexual and/or physical trauma; the dysphoric and euphoric experiences of transgender, non-binary, and other gender non-conforming people; the experiences of fat people working towards their liberation in the face of societal pressure meant to illicit shame and self-hatred.
These unique experiences find their connection through their basis in the physical body, as well as through the artist.
Within this series, the artist asks:
Can one heal from trauma by (re-)connecting with and (re-)claiming one’s body?
