Man, it always sucks when I’m listening to a fic and the screen reader goes “doubleyou ach ay tee eye ess why oh you are eff ay vee oh are eye tee ee see oh ell oh are doubleyou ach ee are ee dee-”

And I pause it like what the fuck, then find my phone to look at the screen and I see “whatisyourfavoritecolorwhered-”

Like, bro, please, why would you do this?

Or when it starts going “EXEXEXEXEXEXEEEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEXEX!!” Because somebody didn’t use the code for a line break. At least just make it one dash, please.

Like, it’s your fic and you’re writing it for free and that’s cool, so if you see this and you’re like, “mmmm, nah, still gonna do it my way” then that’s chill.

Just know that it’s really difficult for people with screen readers to read some of these fics. Me personally, when I find a fic that does this, I don’t give it a chance no matter how good it is.

I would like to point out that rivers are part of the weather cycle, so if thats something you can add to your argument

I need to know if I'm the weird one here. I firmly believe that rivers are weather.

Hear me out. That's not a great start is it...

If snow on the ground is weather, then rivers are weather.

Rivers are just what happens when rain gets really close to the ground, but it's still falling - a river flowing is rainwater that's still moving because of gravity.

Yeah it's not just falling straight down any more, it's following a familiar course. But wind does that too, that's just what fluids do, the landscape forms a microclimate.

Sure they might appear mostly predictable but some rivers are seasonal - if you need to follow the weather forecast to know whether there's going to be water moving in a place, that's weather.Some places have constant fog, in the same place, but the amount of fog varies and that doesn't stop it being weather just because it doesn't feel like weather to them.

And flooding is just there being more river than usual, like how a storm is there being more wind than usual.

Funniest thing in the whole wide world is opening a completed fic and seeing the author’s note for the first chapter say something like “unlike my other fics, this will be a shorter one! Expect it to be complete within three months or so” and then you look at the stats and the fic is 100k+ words and took two years to finish
