Well... Holy Shit.

Hi guys. It’s been a minute. Sorry for the lack of posting, and I hope to be on a more regular schedule in the future- things have been a little crazy. Life has been kinda hard lately, both with my health and my family’s health. We’ve had like 4 different life emergencies in the past 6 months and I’ve been exhausted. I’ve been trying to find the energy to do things, like I know a lot of people have.

But I just want to say that the news of this show has brought me so much joy and excitement when we all need it right now, and I thought I’d share some of my emotional thoughts.

This book series, this franchise, has meant so much to me and has literally changed my life. I adore these characters, these stories, and this fandom so much. Just thinking about the series getting an adaptation that is faithful and has rick involved makes me emotional beyond words. Knowing that a whole bunch of new kids are going to fall in love with a series that meant so much to me growing up is just... overwhelmingly good. That even if they don’t do more than the first series, that a whole new generation of kids will go on and read them, and discover a world that is full of representation, important lessons, and just genuine fun.

Thinking about how many more kid’s lives this tv series can change has me close to tears. And the idea that I get to experience it all over again, in a way that I never have with all of you, has my heart full and more excited than it has in a while. The joy I feel right now is uncontainable and I can’t stop smiling.

I am SO SO SO excited to see what Uncle Rick has in store, and to see all of us reunite and show this series the love and hype it deserves. The show might not be perfect, and I don’t fully expect it to be. But I’m so excited to see where it takes us, and the sense of community we all have right now, and the feeling that I know this is happening because of all of us. I can’t wait.

So bring on the monsters. 🧡
