A Life or Death Situation

Jack stiffly continued his walk into the kitchen and, grabbing a stool next to Phantom, sat down and placed his gun on the counter. A black glove tapped against the stone somewhat debating. “ Why are you here spook?”

Phantom snorted, “ Protecting people, fighting ghosts…. The family business I suppose?”

Jack glared, “ You know that’s not what I’m asking Phantom.”

Phantom’s green eyes dimmed and he hugged a knee to his chest. “You’re asking why I exist?”

Jack looked to the teen tiredly, “I guess I am.”

Daniel winced, “ Is it wrong? To want to live for others? To do the right thing…?

Jack paused and stared up to Phantom questioningly, “ Odd choice of words. You know you’re dead right?”

Daniel grimaced and snorted, “Am I really?” He chuckled bitterly, “ You know what? I think I’ve been dead inside for nearly two years now… Tell me da-Jack.” Daniel corrected and then continued, “ Am I really evil? Is my existence that big of a sin? What if I really wasn’t a ghost? What if I was something more?”

Jack raised an eyebrow and stared into the counter. “ But you aren’t. You’re not alive. Living people can’t do what you do. They’d die.You’re the ghost of some poor kid that couldn’t move on.”

I really appreciate how all the DP screenshots that go around have the early 2000s nick logo on them. we all know you can only find that on pirated versions. the entire phantom is pirating a 14 year old cartoon. watchcartoononline is the glue holding this community together

Danny is a dog person and I’m sure that over time he befriends more of them.

So here’s my contribution to the Dannypocalypse xD

OMFG THIS IS REALLY FREAKING GOOD WHAAAAAAAAA

Space ghosts -that just opens up a whole new world. (Assuming Danny makes it out of there alive- which, how would he, exactly? Johnny got away with being smacked down, but it’s actively after Danny now, and he wouldn’t lead it back to EARTH of all places. And ALIEN GHOSTS! What kind of portals does this open up, eh?)

Danny doesn’t move. Doesn’t shift even minutely as he floats stationary where he’s grabbed onto a handle at the console, doesn’t reach for his powers like he wanted to for fear of the terrifying ghost-creature-thing noticing and moving. He wouldn’t dare invite it to move.

But of course, that didn’t matter, because the radio was still on, and the cameras still rolling -and Danny wondered what NASA thought of the front-row seats to witnessing the first ever alien ghosts -and a breathy curse of awe caught the thing’s attention.

Danny watched as the ghost -it was a strange one, not green skinned but dark and shadowy, it’s body less a body and more an amorphous blob that was half-positioned through the entire ship -as it shifted and moved it’s mouth closer to the radio. The connection had thankfully gone silent, but it’s mass of teeth and singular eye -it was layered with a thin film of skin, entirely dry, and jerked about every fre moments -leered at the radio. Danny hoped it couldn’t reach through, like technus, hoped that this... this.... being wasn’t capable of moving through technology and wavelengths like Technus could.

It was thoroughly interested in staring down the radio, and Danny took that as his chance to slip around it, away, maybe leave it here and just fly back to base, because surely the ghosts of alien lifeforms weren’t on the list of things he was trained to deal with -no matter how many human and animal ghosts he fought on Earth.

Because it wasn’t just any ghost. Danny could feel it in his core, the presence exuded from this being, it’s hunger, a stomach that could devour stars... He decided that, should he make it out of here woth what was left of his life, he would see if this counted towards debunking black holes wholesale.

He moved his foot, naught but two inches from his body.

The ghosts roars.

It’s a siren, he vaguely realizes through the pain of his bleeding ears. The horrible screeching and, dare he say it, wailing, calls out into the void, out into the vastness of space, and Danny doesn’t hesitate to transform and book it.

The most frightening part, though, is when he looks back.

Millions and millions of miles away, stars start to dissapear.

And he wonders what new level of hell has descended upon them.

Danny did it. He managed to do it. Despite all the hardships and failures, he was able to do it.

He’s an astronaut, and he’s going into space.

Happy 15th Dannyversary!!  It’s been an amazing 15 years since the show premiered, and time once again for the Phanniemay Calendar!  For those of you just joining, Phanniemay is a theme-a-day calendar with a unique topic each and every day of the month.  If you can finish all 31 days of Phanniemay, contact me for a small congratulatory gift!

Phanniemay is a 31-day celebration of the show Danny Phantom, so as long as you create something involving elements from the show along with some interpretation of that day’s theme, it counts!  You can write a fic, draw a picture, take a cosplay photo, make a craft, edit a video, anything you can think of!  

If you don’t understand one of the themes or can’t think of any interpretations of it, don’t worry!  I will be making daily reminders for each day with a description and any relevant background information.  Some days will have alternate themes so keep your eye out for those.  Late entries are always welcome if you’re too busy to do this in May!

Please be sure to tag any of your contributions with appropriate trigger warnings!  And if you see any themes that may lead to a specific, uncommon trigger, please let me know so I can tell people how to properly tag their entries on that day’s announcement.

Looking for black masc voice actors!

Hey all, we’re Danny Phantom: Reanimated, and we’re a fanmade reboot of Danny Phantom!

We put out an announcement for voice acting auditions a few months ago, and while we got a lot of people auditioning for Jazz and Sam, we need more people auditioning for Tucker! As such, the deadline for Tucker has been extended to FEBRUARY 14TH, 2019! Valentines Day!

So if you are black, have a fairly masculine voice (trans/cis/nonbinary/etc all welcome), and want to apply for Tucker, CLICK HERE! There’s also more information, the lines, and other important stuff!

We’re also looking for storyboarders/animators, musicians, and environmental/3D/affects artists, so if you or a friend are interested, please join the discord and get in touch with us!

My favorite thing about the DP fanfic community isn’t the angst, or the weirdly prevalent plot skeletons (stranded on an island with my class as a result of a field trip while being broadcast???). It’s the fact that virtually every fic incorporates some form of fanon that makes it an AU and nobody tags it. Canon is garbage and nobody came here to see it—but we will gladly consume content about Danny being legitimately scared of his parents. Valerie and Dani never got a conclusion? Congrats, they’re dating now, and it’s Canon. Dash felt shallow as a character but had potential great dynamic with so many people? Good news—he’s gay now and his dad sucks. Vlad deserved more than being an Incel? Do whatever you want with him, fic writers! Nobody expects consistent lore. Some days Danny is scrawny and pale, others he’s tall and riddled with scars, and it doesn’t matter! It’ll still be enjoyable! Us readers will read the fic no matter how much canon divergence there is (we come PREPARED for it, actually), and I think that’s beautiful. It’s pretty much a guaranteed that canon will be improved upon and… IDK. It’s just really nice to see all the creativity and fixes the fic authors employ. You’re all really talented and my god does it show

Fanfiction’s like, my favorite part of the Danny Phantom community. I love it so much, and I’ve read so many fanfictions over the years. Fanfictions I’ve stayed up all night reading, that made me cry and laugh and that inspired me so much. Checking my email every day for the message: That Fanfiction You’ve Been Reading has been updated. The sadness of an author retiring or the joy of finding stories of your rarepair.

On the writing side, fanfiction has helped me to grow so much as an author and storyteller, and I’ve gotten some of the best criticism that really molded me and helped shape my writing style. It’s allowed me to write as an emotional outlet during some of the best and worst times of my life, and writing has allowed me to meet, talk to and even occasionally write alongside some amazing people.

In the past year or so, I’ve been getting some fantastic fanfiction recommendations, and I’ve recommended a lot of fanfictions too. There’s just so many fanfics. So many ideas, so many concepts, so many AUs and headcanons and rewrites and personal interpretations and so many unique, creative sparks in this phandom that sees so much potential in this show. Despite it being so long since the show ended, there’s still new fanfictions every day. I love it.

I know it’s a bit late to announce, but for February, I’m proposing Fic Rec Fridays. Each Friday, recommend 3 DP fanfictions you feel is under-appreciated/not well known, tell us a bit about it (without giving away spoilers!) and what you love about them. Is it the narrative? Is the writing style to die for? Is it just an old, classic, cheesy piece that brings good memories, but people seemed to have forgotten? Does it have a story or premise you’ve never thought of before? Or is it just your old favorite?

I also highly encourage you to reach out to the authors of the stories you recommend to tell them what you told us: Why you love their work and why you’d recommend it.

Hi friends in 2018 this blog pretty much exploded which is awesome. I’m really bad at doing emotions but just know I appreciate you all.
