The ghost ship.
Log #1:
A derelict ship had been found off the edge of varicose space. Wanting to learn more, some nearby varicose ships stopped near the wreckage. So far, any attempts made to pierce the exterior of the dead ship have yet to yield results.
Log #3:
The civilian ships have yet to even make a dent in the armoured ghost shit. One ship even underwent a full reactor meltdown with no results. Military might have been authorised to aid in this investigation. Some human civilian ships have also joined in, as has some drones from machine space. Neither have had much of an impact.
Log #7:
Military grade weaponry has failed to yield any results. The drones from machine space have managed to make one of the ship's access hatches shake. Issue is the mechanisms that drove these hatches have failed centuries ago. One insurance report has been filed for a broken crowbar.
Log 11#:
The varicose military called in a favour, and subsequently, a human class military ship has entered varicose space. Unfortunately, it swiftly left varicose space after the ghost ship sprung to life and started attacking the human vessel. No humans were harmed, but the ghost ship seems to have angered the humans...all varicose civilians have been withdrawn from the area.
Log 12#:
The USS Stabitha H54 decided to return with the USD Small Knife. A planet sized ship with its own localised field of gravity. Safe to say, the ghost ship attacked. However, while distracted, the Stabitha managed to blow a sizable hole into the hull platting of the ghost ship. Shortly afterwards, the drones from machine space could subdue the hostile derelict ship.
The USD Small Knife warped away shortly after this encounter to avoid the ship falling into orbit around the monstrosity of a ship. The origin of the ship was soon discovered. It was human in origin....

War between allies
The Planta and Human clusters of space harbor an alliance nowadays. Each respectful of one another, all be it an uneasy alliance at times as well.
Planta are, in essence, a sentient space fairing race of plants. They're carnivorous and strictly so as their homeworld is rather poor in nutrients considered vital for life. Due to an extinction event early in the life of their planet that killed off most of the microbial life that gave rise to these resources on other worlds. Still, they don't enjoy the sight of plant life being eaten and their hatred of this is well known...You'd think...
This was till a human ambassadeur of a small sub region in the cluster humanity control order a saled. When the planta representatives, of another small sector within the planta cluster, looked at the man in disgust and terror. The man then jokingly said "Sorry y'all. Wife said I have the eat healthy. So I am on a vegetarian diet." This caused the planta representatives to predictably declare war on the spot.
Shockingly humanity actually lost that war. Mostly because the diplomats words where recorded and broadcasted cluster wide. The only thing that kept the planta from exterminating the humans was the fear of the larger human armada. That and the diplomat was promptly fired on the spot once his superiors discovered his blunder.
A few border worlds where concord and humanity gained respect for their carnivorous allies. That and ordering a saled became a new idiom.

>Starting data dump. [tag D99-85-976-354]
The machine cluster has held a fear of humans since it was made aware of their existence. This was mostly due to the diversity of their ship designs, their ability to operate outside of what can be computed and their image of individuals such as the machine "hive mind" (as humans put it)
The machine "hive mind" and humans do make occasionally interact in a commercial capacity for translation devices. Machine has yet to decipher their method for cataloging time as it makes little sense, but that issue is not uncommon among space fairing races machine interacts with.
In this case Machine was testing out a new collection of jump drive technology for use with scouts to better understand Human and Planta space. Unfortunately, upon jumping into human space the scouts where lost one of by one.
The first scout simply went dark and only came back online some time later. The scout seems to have hit a cloaked ship that had been traveling near light speed. Scans the scout could take of the damage debre around it showed no trace of any material that did not belong to the probe.
Another scout suddenly found itself jumped outside of the human cluster and was now orbiting around in Vericose space. A hellish cluster wherein the scout was ripped apart by some sort of magnetic force originating from a destabilized staroid object.
Another scout was intercepted by a human ship whom attempted to board the empty vessel. The humans only stopping once they found the ship wasn't human. This scout was delivered back to machine space some amount of astronomical time later. With what the humans would call a note.
"Dear machine hive mind. The Clarica and Dartholock empires wish to extend an apology for destroying your scouts. Although we did not do this maliciously. Please see the attached star map. We're currently engaged with a small boarder conflict and wish to avoid accidentally killing 3rd parties.
Peace negotiations broke down 2 months back. We cannot say for how long this conflict will last. Just know that we prefer it if we can avoid pulling the whole cluster into a war....again
We also found several security holes in your system. We expect full payment for the 'bug bounty' you offer towards species that find a flaw."

The unremarkable biped. #7
The engineering wing held a contest earlier this [local time code equal to 2.1278944553 Lunar cycle] to blow off some helium. Nothing out of the ordinary, apart from the addition of the strange biped. Whom from this point forward is permanently banned from submitting weapon schematics to one such contest.
Weapon designs included, but where not limited to.
Strapping sharp objects to a cleaning droid so it could take out hostiles and clean the resulting mess. Prototype succeeded in injuring several crew members.
A machine to quote "See what happens if we try to blow up a black hole". The prototype caused the station to loose power for 3 [local time code equal to 1.7863209 hours]. One engineer's drink is also in a super position, somehow, of being drunk and not drunk. Any attempts to collapse this superposition has been fatal.
Using a rail gun as a jump drive. The prototype could reach jump speeds, but the gun failed to withstand the forces. Prototype destroyed a small moon in the desolate system we tested it within. Or more accurately, there is now a prototype shaped hole going through the moon.
Something the biped called a rocket powered catapult. This device somehow blew through the shielding of the target we where testing this against and dented it. The violent swing of this device also bent a 1 [measurement unit equal to 1.6785 meters] long steal beam.
They also thought of a small swarm of tiny machines to rip apart enemies. Remained untested as we wish not to violate any intergalactic treaties regarding ethical warfare. Or that is the excuse we told the biped.
Other ideas we didn't get around to testing was a device that accelerates, what the biped called chainsaws, at targets. A Electro Magnetic Pulse device that works on biological matter. A device that uses the magnetic properties of certain materials to heat up or fry them over a set distance.

The unremarkable biped #6
The biped's exact features have remained hidden till this stage due to the atmosphere on the station being uncomfortable for the biped. Medical checkups by the ship's medical wing have made breakthroughs in understanding the complex mechanisms that make up the creature's biological function.
While it has been known the biped requires high levels of oxygen to function, the creature also enjoys a slightly higher level of atmospheric pressure. Although further research has reduced the size of the atmospheric suite the creature requires considerable.
A detailed study of the creature's biological system has revealed some insight into the creature's native environment. It seems the creature's cells use a strange strand of molecules to encode instructions. Samples collected from the monster we recovered some time ago, and which the creature helped subdue, revealed that despite being different. Their biological processes operate similarly.
Perhaps bipedal life in the environment the creature evolved in only occurred once. Although this theory is "incorrect" according to the creature whom listed two other species. Although the translator device failed to decode what the creature was trying to convey.
Or I hope that is the case, I do not wish to meat the monstrosities the creature mentioned that could withstand flying an unshielded ship through the aftermath of a supernova explosion.

The unremarkable biped. #5
One of the station's scouts had returned from what appeared to be another unknown ruin of some description. Unfortunately we had lost 2 of the explorers to a feral beast one of them had accidentally awoken from hibernation. The crew had to lock the dangerous beast up in their vessel's waste disposal compartment before it could claim its 3rd victim.
The crew have been discharged for 3 months due to the psychological damage this creature's vocalizations was making on the way back to the station. The biped was asked to aid in subduing the creature by the station guard when the expedition vessel made it back to our space hatch due to the biped's endurance far surpassing most other species on the station.
Surprisingly, as soon as the creature saw this monster. It ran at it, blocking the station's guard from shooting at it. The creature knew what it was. According to the creature it was a small carnivore native to their home world that they as a species often kept as companions.
How any species willingly kept an animal so dangerous as a "companion" stumped me. When asked the creature simply said the creature would only be the second most dangerous predator on-board. When asked what was more dangerous the creature refused to answer. I have sent my translation device down to engineering for repairs due to this interaction.
The biped as confined the monster to iets habitation pod. When it was given the correct atmospheric conditions, according to the biped, it had calmed down considerably. Sensors also indicate the biped has entered a state of higher energy since the arrival of that "monster".
Update: The biped has requested we use the designation of "cat". This request has been denied.

995F:Is this bloody channel working?
B95:Read you loud and clear SS stabith 995F
995F:Thank blood [figure of dignity]
B95:SS stabith, are you alright? Sensors indicate that we are unable to communicate with you via anything other than short wave radio.
995F:Yea yea station B95. We flew close to a star and the bloody ball of hot gas unleashed the mother of all storms at us.
B95:Wait...a solar Flare. But records shows that vessel has no radiation shielding. How are you all alive and how did you all make it to us?
995F:With a lot of duck tape....and some human ingenuity.
B95:....
995F:Can we dock? This radio we managed to rig together with our life support system is starting to smoke....

The unremarkable biped. #4
A few hundred cycles had passed since my last report on the creature. It appears to have settled in the engineering wing of the station. It's features appear well adapted to this particular area compared to the soft shelled organisms that operate in that area normally.
At times however the creatures adaptations overwhelp the machinery in use by the station. The station's systems appear rather slow to the creature's sensibilities. This has resulted in no less then 3 broken terminals, 5 bent hull plates, 2 cups of stimulant being knocked off the table and 7 mechanical interfaces smashed.
Attempts by engineering have been made to either speed up the station's systems or to reinforce the equipment to withstand the creature's actions. I find it rather amazing that the creature has been able to decipher our language in its text based form. However it seems the creature cannot vocalize the sounds required for communication with the rest of the crew. Engineering is working on a translation device for the creature.
The creature has expressed interest in contacting its home cluster. It seems however that we do not possess the communications technology required to achieve this. The creature spent 0.5 cycles in a low energy state after being made aware of this reality.

> An accursed time
In the valley of death
Where hope was left
And cheer was laid to rest
Lays what remains
Do you know what awaits
In this miasmic taint
Calling from the lost....faint
To late to back away in disdain
Fame and fortune crumble away
Eternity serving as just a delay
For the eternal march of decay
No more words to act on or say
For it is the end of time
And rhyme

To fall far below ever slow
Where time and Entropy flow
The lows of the meadow
Where doves come to die
Is this even really reality
Or is it mainly fantasy?
What remains?
In the darkness I cry
Is it all just meaningless?
Am I just seeing less?
As my mind falls away in disarray...
A call for help, a mayday delayed.....
In the end structure falls to Entropy...
A darkness without empathy

> A poet's challenge.
Try doing some improv poetry.
Write each new section on a line
And remove your ability to go back
To the previous track
To fix the mistakes that accumulate
It'll force you to get creative to accommodate
The words you used before
Each line harder to endure
Avoiding repeating one self
As you continue to type
Unable to dwell
Unable to set right
The mistakes made
In time's alluring fade.

Well....had to use ai for something related to work. One of the rejected images fit the feeling of the blog so I snagged it and used it.
If y'all want I can switch back, but I like the alien feeling the image has. Like a man lost in the far reaches of reality...not sure if they're even a man anymore. The desolate beauty of the alien landscape and the artificial origin. That and I'm broke...
Yes the old background was fed as an input.

> Melophonic
Existence goes so slow
In time's flow
From up high to down low
What remains now?
History can't be rewritten.
Countless paths treaded
Now set in stone, settled
Can a heart be mended?
In this symphonic residence
The weight of existence ever dense
The feeling of sorrow ever immense
Long since lost any hold on sense
It this all there exists in this reality
In my heart's sad melody?

Burning snowfall.
Do you even recall what came before
What was once there, something I adore
Too late to keep it safe anymore
History's done writing that lore
Lost at last, faded away
In the realm of ever lasting decay
I cry a ballet in dismay
And yet you have nothing to say
You burned my memories to ash
Ripped my joy to shreds so fast
My future plans dushed
In darkness my hope stayed cached
Yet through the pain I admire
The desire to continue this journey ever dire...

Delaying insanity....
Reality is a lie told in grace.
You tractor of mine mind
Do you dare to cry to my face.
Lost....uncaring to find
Do you still remember our time
Falling further away from mine
Unable to see even the littlest sign
In this ever lasting forgotten sight
Lost in the catacombs of lyrical mayhem
Did you even consider
The weight of the actions you phenom.
As the light decays away ever faster.
Is this all a game played for fame
Or just a loop played once again?

Witching hour poetry
My being sings a song of grief
So I'll be brief
With this verse of relief
I'm having fun not going to lie
The past may have had me break down and cry
Perhaps let us forgot to sigh tonight.
Perhaps in another existence
With some persistence
We could have entered a trance
Of friendship at last
Even if time flies by so fast
