Back at it again! Virtual learning as a kindergarten student can be overwhelming, but as parents we can make the difference and help them remain calm. Create a schedule that works for your Kinder even if it’s not the same school schedule. When COVID19 sent us home from school, I was adamant about keeping the same school schedule. As an educator myself I had to realize that this learning is different than my daughter seeing her teacher face-to-face everyday and she misses her so much. The sadness in her face made the struggle all to real. She says the Zoom meetings aren’t enough and that she wants to see her teacher again and not online. So, we changed up, pushed back her time, switch off helping her learn, and give her breaks. After her daily meetings with her teacher she’s so sad, so we have to help her cope with that... I say this to say, do what works best for your child, but ensure they do their work. Teacher Tip #27 - I know what I went through as a New Teacher. However, these are just things I experienced. Like, not taking care of myself, going to work sick, staying late and offering up my time even though I knew I need rest. Please focus on staying healthy. Being stressed lowers your immune system. The less stressed you are, the healthier you will be. It is important to be healthy because if you aren’t healthy the students will take advantage of it. Make sure as soon as you get a cough, you are in the doctors trying to get better. I was feeling tired, but kept going until I found out my iron was low and I’m Vitamin D deficient. Teacher Tip #28- FOCUS The road may seem long as well as your days, but go in with a clear mind about what you wish to accomplish each and every day. I’ve learned that what you put in the atmosphere you get back. If you, get out of bed late, focus, running late to work, focus, stuck in traffic, focus, late to your door, and so much more...just focus. As soon as you give the negative a little bit of life, then your day will go awry. However, if you FOCUS, and bring it all into perspective then you will never lose your cool. Trust me, it will be ok because tomorrow is a new day. I have been there, and it’s not a good feeling. Found this on IG and want any teacher to know this is true. Treat people (including your students) the way you want to be treated. They will listen and follow all of your rules and directions if you don’t create a barrier. The best rule is to give students a new start each and every day. Don’t let yesterday’s behavior affect how you treat your students the next day.

Teacher Tip #29 - Celebrate your students smallest accomplishments. I’m no expert, I just know that my first couple of years teaching, I felt many emotions. I was happy, nervous, sad, felt I didn’t know what I was doing sometimes. Hopefully these tips will help someone you as you begin your new journey of teaching.
