I think one of the reasons drag kings aren’t as popular as drag queens, aside from the fact that straight women don’t like us, is that people are uncomfortable acknowledging masculinity as a performance. Like we as a society know that femininity is a performance, with its own costumes and rules. Masculinity is also a performance, and nothing makes that more clear than someone making an exaggeration of it

I'm enjoying Star Trek Strange New Worlds a lot ... I don't know if that's considered lame or problematic in the wider Trekkie community...??
I'm conflicted about the whole nurse Chapel and Spok thing ... It's super weird to me because in theory it's my kind of ship so part of me wants to ship it ... But I read about their dynamic in TOS and ... Nope. That would be enough to ruin it for me. But also, of course, Kirk! He's just around the corner man, I know how it goes for them, so why should I be invested in this Chapel business??
Hit me with your takes!

The doctor in the Passion (1981) is so funny. Fosca isn’t going to die because she has so many diseases that they all cancel each other out.

I was playing accordion at some kind of nightclub and I had no fucking idea what I was doing. The crowd went wild nonetheless. It was thrilling.

listen, they are never going to stop making star trek shows. So i know if i bide my time and wait like 10-20 years there will eventually be a star trek show where kirk and spock are a gay couple. there is only so long they can beat the gay spock allegations down with a stick thats all im saying.

WONDER BAR (1934) | dir. Lloyd Bacon
“The other [scene that stands out above the rest] involved a handsome man, asking a dancing couple if he could cut in. The female partner, expecting his attention, agrees, only to see him dance with her male partner. Jolson then flaps his wrist and says, “Boys will be boys. Woo!”. This scene almost caused the Production Code to reject the film, and was featured in the opening scenes of the documentary film The Celluloid Closet (1996).”
