are you back？please come back. I need you.can’t stand the loneliness I’ve been scrolling down these pages for like a thousand times.btw the LP version of OBCR is available now did you get one?
Unfortunately, I don't think either of us will ever have the time to truly be back--not in full force, anyway. In all honesty, we started this blog when we were wee teens still in high school, and unbelievably, we're full adults now (oh my god?? ew???).
If we ever have ideas, we will certainly make more posts and memes and stuff, but until then, we appreciate the little asks that pop into our inbox despite us cleaning off the cobwebs.
We are so thankful for this little circle, but we promise it's not goodbye! Not yet! It'll just be some time (a long, indefinite time...) until we can officially say "we're back".

Can I just take a moment o appreciate how good this place is, it’s so fun I never meet anyone who like jersey boys anymore seems like beetlejuice is the only popular thing I like Beetlejuice and dear Evan Hansen, but they will never never never top jersey boys we need to revive this fandom.
I'm sorry that our blog is practically an abandoned wasteland. Both of us have just been so busy (life and things, unfortunately), but we'd love to come back and make this place as awesome as you make it out to be! It's a genuine honor! Especially since Jersey Boys definitely deserves all the love and hype!

Joisey Boisey: Local Homestead Edition
Hi again everyone. Mod Spit here. Uhhhh, guess who has two thumbs and ended up seeing Jersey Boys again? This guy!
So, in honor of the complete and utter bullshit I did last time as a means of filler, here’s my ramblings on a local production of Jersey Boys.
Friendly disclaimer like last time: Please know all these silly comments are said with as much love as humanly possible. I respect all these actors and the hard work they put into performing this show each night. Any seemingly negative opinions/commentary are in no way meant to bash the actors as they do not reflect their actual talents and abilities. So without further ado…
Pre-Show:
I dressed up for this event. Why did I do this.
And by that, I mean I walked in with a red blazer and tie because I wanted to be immersed. IMMERSED, I tell you.
Also wow, they’re gonna perform on a stage that I did community theater on. That’s crazy.
Oh my god the set is so cool. (I wonder how they’re gonna do the lamppost.)

Why do people bring their little children to this show they’re going to start calling you an asshole
Act I:
OH MY GODDD.
“CES SOIRÉES-LA” WAS SO SEXY AND BRIGHT. I WAS HOOKED FROM THE START. AMEN
For a local theater, the set is really, really good!! For example, there’s no giant screen agressively telling me the season (nor a gregariously big lamppost), but wow. Top tier professional production.
Tommy is the most stereotypical Italian man I have ever seen. I want him to spit on me and murder me with a spoon. Please.
He’s also the tallest out of the four of them?? Which is something I didn’t expect to enjoy as much as I do.
Frankie is so bubbly and animated!! He’s so cute. AND he’s tiny!! I love him.
But oh my god please,, stay still,, a bit sir. You’re sweating so much. Sir. You must be so tired. SIR. CALM DOWN--
It also seems to be causing a bit of strain on his voice. I hope he’s okay :(
On the bright side his guy liner is 😩👌
BOB IS SUCH A COCKY AND CONFIDENT PIECE OF SHIT. THEY REALLY SAID “FUCK UWU BOB. HE’S TALENTED AND A HOE AND HE KNOWS IT.”
Also his tone? So smooth. I wish my skin was that smooth. “Cry for Me” was so hot. When I pray, that’s the voice I wish I had.
NICK. OH MY GOD. A GOOD NICK. I... I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. I’M-- HAVE I DIED?
His comedic timing? Magnificent. Do I pity him? No. Do I want him to step on me? Absolutely. Does he beat Mark Edwards though? I’m sorry, but no. (The day someone changes my mind about Mr. Edwards, I’ll make a whole separate post, and the world will probably implode. Despite that, I prefer this Nick a million times more than Blonde British Massi™️.)
“I Go Ape” was so awkwardly funny for absolutely no reason. I love it. Hank went, “..HAHA YEAH!” as he handed everyone the suit jackets.
Gyp’s mic tape came off during “My Mother’s Eyes,” and I loved watching it dangle from his face during his aggressive sobbing.
“AN ANGEL CRIED”. HAL TOOK THE OPTION UP AT THE END. AND. ALSO. DURING “OH WHAT A NIGHT”. WHAT. THE HELL. HOW IS HIS VOICE NOT BROKEN. IS HE OKAY? HE IS SO GOOD. MURDER ME.
Loraine’s actress is very cute. I’ll update y’all.
Act II:
They all did their own special pose during the beginning of “Big Man…” and tbh I thought I was watching an anime opening.
OKAY. I LOVE NICK. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. aaaAAAAAHHHH—
HIS MONOLOGUE. It gave me secondhand embarrassment in the best way possible. Everyone’s trying to talk about the IMPORTANT MATTER, and he’s over here WHINING about Tommy being a little BITCH.
His monologue just gets increasingly louder until he shouts “TEN YEARS.” then he pauses and delicately plops into his chair to sit all politely. He looks like the cat meme. It’s so goofy.
Also, Nick being on the brink of tears when he mentions how he can’t see hotel soap.
The audience loudly groaned once Tommy said “half a mil,” and it made my heart happy.
Bob was the only one with a toilet during the jail scene, so seeing everyone dramatically draped over their chairs while he’s all scrunched up on the can was hilarious.
Okay, so Frankie being a hyperactive beyblade was definitely necessary here. He needs a place to put all that energy. HE RAN WITH IT.
“Beggin’” had sexy spins. “C’mon Marianne”? Exquisite. But then he starts doing whole ballet turns during “Working My Way…”??? Like, okay, Nutcracker and Swan Lake. I see you.
Bob’s smirk when he says, “What makes you think they liked you before?” 🥴✨💕
LORAINE. SHE IS SO CUTE. AND INCREDIBLE. I usually don’t pay as much attention as I should to her character, but this time my eyes were practically GLUED to her. Her leaving Frankie broke my heart into pieces. She deserves the world.
Oh, and sickness is cured. They all enunciate so hard, that they’re constantly spitting like camels. I love theater.

Mod Spit watches Jersey Boys in London and cries about it
Hi, so this’ll probably be the last post for a while until Mod Bubblegum and I become witty enough to come up with more content. So here’s some random thoughts I’ve conjured while watching West End’s production of Jersey Boys because the joy I felt was immeasurable.
Please know all these silly comments are said with as much love as humanly possible. I respect all these actors and the hard work they put into performing this show each night. The Show
The lamppost is so,, big??? Like, it’s huge.
TOMMY IS SHORTER THAN FRANKIE. I REPEAT. TOMMY IS SHORTER THAN FRANKIE.
JOE PESCI IS SO CUUUUUTE OMGOMGOMG HE’S A LIL BABY (I want to smooch him. Don’t tell anyone.)
We got a Bob understudy, and he’s so SMOL. HE’S SO TINY. He’s only like,, an inch-ish or two taller than Frankie?? They fr said “we want uwu Bob or give us death.”
Tommy is so smiley and cutesy. Cocky piece of shit. I love him. I would die for him. (No one can do cheeky Tommy better than Sam Wolf though. I gotta represent.)
I MADE A COMMENT ABOUT A GINGER NICK AND I GOT A BLONDE ONE INSTEAD
Speaking of, Nick makes me want to cry. HE KEPT DROPPING THE JOISEY BOISEY ACCENT. WE GOT A BLONDE BRITISH NICK MASSI. (I miss Mark Edwards)
“MY BOYFRIEND’S BACK” WAS SO GOOD. I WANT FRANCINE’S ACTRESS ON BROADWAY RN.
MARY. HER. SHE. AAAAH
The dialogue is slower. Off-Broadway, they were speaking at rapper level speeds. But it’s good slower! I can actually understand them LOL
(It’s most likely for audio reasons. A lot of the time, the background vocals tended to drown out the lead vocals/dialogue.)
An old lady behind me went “Yeah!” after one of the songs. It was adorable.
There were also two literal toddlers next to me. They were very quiet and polite as the adults yelled “ASSHOLE” on stage.
During “Oh, What a Night!” (“And you are?”) the ✨sexy✨ lady just,, stuck her finger in Bob’s ear?? And then trailed it down his chin and neck??? And then he did a lil gasp and was like, “Booo—hah—ha—oooaaaahhb??~!” LIKE HIS EYES ROLLED BACK INTO HIS HEAD AND EVERYTHING. HELLO?
OKAY SO BARRY? THE HIGH NOTE NEAR THE END OF “OH, WHAT A NIGHT”?? IT WAS SO CLEAR AND GOOD AND BEAUTIFUL. I GASPED.
THERE. IS. AN. ASIAN. IN. THE. CAST. SHE. PLAYS. LORRAINE. (I don’t know if it’s a big deal or anything new or not BUT IT’S A BIG DEAL TO ME. IT MEANS I HAVE A CHANCE.)
Bob (Crewe) and Phil start laughing after the “twisted around her finger” line, and it was adorable seeing them get back into character.
Joe Pesci: “Who wears short shorts! She wears short shorts! They wear short shorts! He wears short shorts! …I wear short shorts—!“
Tommy and Frankie get so close to each other every time they have dialogue together. I’m losing my mind. Leave room for Jesus, y’all.
Scratch that, Tommy gets close to everyone. SOCIAL DISTANCE, BRO.
When Frankie sees Mary for the first time, he gets all lovestruck and distracted by her, and Tommy had to sing loudly to get him back on track. I love it.
Frankie just kept staring at Mary during their dinner. Like he was so n e r v o u s. CUTIE.
Tommy wouldn’t stop smirking throughout the debt scene. Frankie was on the verge of TEARS, and Tommy was being a BASTARD.
Nick’s monologue at a slower pace is kinda… sad? It doesn’t feel funny; I instead felt really bad for the guy. Like, he seems genuinely heartbroken at Tommy’s behavior, and I think that intention is funnier than the actual lines.
Nick: “Hey, I got his attention! Hi, Bob! *sparkle fingers*”
Tommy and Lorraine’s interview??? Geez, Tommy you’re like,,, seriously a douche. Like, I always want to punch Tommy in this scene but here?? I wanted to throw him into the theatre over.
Frankie’s tone was so clear and so good. I love him. (Especially in “I’m in the Mood for Love…” He did it so easily and flawlessly.)
I only just now realized that they use the toilets for the jail scene and that scene only. They have four toilets for a one-minute scene. (Lol The Four Toilets)
When the horn section finally came out, Frankie grabbed his mic and stared up at them like an excited puppy and smiled all huge at Bob. It was the c u t e s t.
Frankie’s dancing during “Beggin’” was,,, oh my gooooood. He was doing spins and tricks with the mic. He turned into a human helicopter. I thought he was gonna fall and die.
They changed the Neil Sedaka line and removed the New York team line at the beginning because the audience is too British to understand.
(I forgot what the Neil Sedaka line turned into, but the team one was replaced with something about Tommy being familiar with Jersey’s prisons LMAO)
Bob Crewe, in the deepest, monstrous voice ever: “PLAY THE FUCKING SONG ALREADY.”
Tommy and Frankie do a little shimmy against each other’s backs during “I Can’t Give You…” I want to pinch their cheeks.
These nerds. They’re all just nerds. I love this show.
Stage Door Things

Every actor asking how their accent was as soon as we told them we’re from New York.
I accidentally jump scared Lorraine’s actress, and I feel terrible :,)

Joe Pesci’s actor recognized me because I was seated at the front, and I called him cute, and I wanted to die in a hole.
Love-bombing all the actors because they absolutely deserve it. They’re incredible. I love performers.

Responding to a comment on this post because I realized that what I typed out was too long :,)
“To my knowledge it was already shot so it is a proshot of sorts? But ofc with some cast changes and not at new world stages (or the august Wilson) so I think people are likening it to a Live type musical because of that. Also how do you feel about the cast outside of Nick?”
Well, however it’ll end up recorded, I think we’ll be happy either way! Jersey Boys content in HD is enough for us, haha!
As for the rest of the cast (talking about the main four), we’ve some mixed feelings. We already gave our 50 cents about Jonas: we have faith in him, but at the same time, there’s literally another Frankie in the cast (I believe he’s playing Pesci). Like, he’s right there. They couldn’t have given him a chance to be better known? Especially since Bubblegum and I have seen a recording of him, and he’s really good!
With Bogart (who’s playing Nick)… Honestly, we don’t like him very much. I feel like I don’t have a right to say much in regards to which Nick I’d like (especially since I’m clearly biased lol), but he’s actually one of our… not-so-favorite Nicks. But hey! Maybe he’ll surprise us, especially since it’s been a couple years since he performed in the boot we saw him in.
I was lucky enough to see Pawlikowski in the closing cast. I didn’t dislike him—in fact, I thought he was pretty good! I just wish they picked a different Bob. He’s definitely not my least favorite, but he’s not my top choice either.
And finally, with Karl… I haven’t seen any performances with him as Tommy, but I have seen him in the Legally Blonde proshot and in Pretty Woman! He’s a very talented actor, so I don’t doubt he’ll give Tommy justice. But I don’t know about anyone else’s perspective on his performance, so we’ll see once the recording comes out!
All in all, we’re still very much excited for this version despite our opinions. I have a feeling we’ll end up blown away. :D
