There’s something beautiful about the shift in stillness when it snows at night
Flecks of glitter pour from the sky
But it’s silent — deafening.
Deafening like the thousand yard stare I look through,
Silent like the love of my father who prefers synthetic happiness through a pipe,
Beautiful like the thousand yard stare I love you through.
Snowstorms are predictable
I know to prepare for the ice
To be mindful of my steps
and make sure I have solid footing moving forward.
Snowstorms are predictable
yet here I am
caught off guard by you.
Perhaps the beauty of a snowfall lies in the way it reminds us to slow down
appreciate the silence
and prepare for the inevitable.
But what about the blizzards
that arrive unexpectedly
the ones that leave us
breathless and searching for solid footing?

I keep moving
Slowly with intention
But I wouldn't mind more sleep
Or something inspiring to wake me up
I try to cherish
Every day that's given
But I'll admit I'm tired now
And the world keeps circling on

The air that felt like it was beaten out of my lungs and the attempt on your own life yesterday was no fucking coincidence. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him.
