Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

Ash and Eiji might be involved in a queerplatonic relationship.
I got the idea from this interview of Akimi Yoshida, translated by @pekorosu. (That interview spoils the ending of Banana Fish, so beware.)
Definition of a queerplatonic relationship:
A strong emotional bond that goes beyond friendship and requires the same commitment as a romantic relationship.
Yoshida wanted to explore a relationship that wasn’t romantic in nature, although sexuality had a part in it. The connection Ash and Eiji had was definitely beyond simple friendship, to the point of almost being like lovers, and were also described as soulmates, but if they weren’t meant to be romantic feelings, then the most accurate description would be queerplatonic. In that case, Ash and EIji could actually be asexual.
Everything beyond “Keep reading” is a spoiler.

Demonstrators and artists have taken the steps of the met museum unfurling an ENORMOUS (30 x 50 foot) quilt created by artists around the world in solidarity with Palestine.
The quilt was collectively created by 64 artists from around the world and shipped to New York City.
They're demanding the met museum:
(1) cut ties with board members profiting from Israeli bombardment + occupation of Palestine
(2) support an immediate + permanent ceasefire
(3) aid the preservation of Palestinian cultural heritage sites being destroyed by Israel
In addition to the quilt, demonstrators reclaimed and redistributed Met flyers, stickered with movement messaging and demands.
