Hey, thanks for your interest! Unfortunately, the AU has been on an unofficial hold for some time, so the Discord server has also been closed to reflect that.

A lots happened in the past few years, and it's made it hard for me to continue working on the project. I don't want to abandon it outright, but I also don't know when I'll feel ready to come back to it.

It’s been so long... finally he has a proper ref! He’s been renamed from Dream to Finch, and now A.I. and Tor will not be the only outcodes with unique names! Likewise, Nightmare has been renamed to Rook, and it’ll be reflected in his new ref as well!

Noteworthy Information (Updated): - He has never eaten any apples, but he does have one in his possession (locked away for his brother and his own safety) - Since he never ate any apples he also has no magic. No magical bows or arrows for him. All he’s got is the equivalent of a fancy bow-staff and an inability to travel through universes without a teleporter. - He’s about 300 years old. He used to be friends with AI as well, and they had formed a short-lived group along with one of Finch’s newer friends, Swap. - Swap is his best friend, and he comes over quite often to play games and talk with Finch. He comes over so often that the guest room is practically furnished by Swap himself. Anything that Swap doesn't want to lose in the next reset in his universe, he takes to Finch's place. There is a shelf in the living room full of the other's wood carved puzzles. - He has a one-story house in one of the corners of the doodle sphere. AI knows where it is, but its not like he wants to be over there anyway. There is a slightly older model teleporter around the backside of his house which connects to the public network of transporters and allows Finch to travel anywhere in the multiverse. - Finch has put preventative measures on his house (with the help of his brother) to keep AI away from his house. It works by overloading any soulless being who passes through the barrier with emotions. It's minute enough that beings with souls barely feel it, but significant enough that soulless beings cannot handle it. - Speaking of his brother. Finch and Rook’s relationship is currently very stable. They celebrate their birthdays together and Rook will sometimes taxi Finch from place to place for him. - Both Finch and Rook have always had urges to eat the apples, whether under pressure or not. This is why the last apple is locked away. Sometimes the craving gets so bad for Finch that he will take the apple, place it on the table, and stare at it for hours. - The only reason he has never eaten the apple is the promise he made to his brother many years ago. - AI once gave Finch some chairs he made that magically change colors depending on who sits in them. Finch keeps them despite his hatred for AI. One of them no longer changes color, because Dream permanently dyed it. Its blue. - He was given a bell after him and his brother reconciled. He rings it whenever he's nervous, but the bell is silent. It doesn't make noise, rather it sends out waves of positivity whenever it's rung. Rook can detect the "sound" of the positivity, and uses it to find Finch when he needs him. It's a defense measure, in case anything ever goes wrong. - Finch's hands are permanently scarred from when he burned the orchard down. He wears gloves to cover up the damage. - He spends a lot of his time baking, something he does to pass the time and as a way to relax. Pies are his favorite, he always has at least one around. - Despite his advanced hatred of AI, he has never told a soul of the atrocities AI has committed. He's bound by his wrists in this regard, in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of his brother.

Terrified of the fate which awaited his brother, out of options, and out of time, he set fire to the orchard and all of the apples with it. A panicked, ill-planned ultimatum.

Unknowingly, he sacrificed the lives of the rest of his family to save the life of his brother.

Heyy guess who has a new character to show! This is Aster, multiversal songwriter and celebrity! Striking through the hearts of millions of fans with his music. His stage name, what his music is signed as, is Fresh! Might not wanna get too close though, fans seem to go missing when they hang around for too long...

Extra Notes:

- He’s quite popular in the Sanctuary (the town surrounding Nightmare’s castle), with Killer being a diehard fan and Cross secretly taking a liking to his music. - Nightmare doesn’t like him, though, he senses something off about the guy that he just can’t quite put his finger on. - Despite how many people like him, despite how many eyes there are on him, no one really knows what he’s like when the cameras turn off. - His “Fresh Lingo” is part of his brand, and he doesn’t actually talk like that outside of the spotlight. - No one knows he’s a parasite! He uses his status as a celebrity to lure in new vessels whenever the old one starts deteriorating. - He was originally contained by the Scientific Council for research (not as a skeleton, but as the small squishy creature that he really is), overseen by A.I. to determine what he was and how he worked. - They were unaware that he was sentient and highly intelligent, and after years of being confined, he escaped. - Aster rose in popularity many years after his initial escape, and is now, ironically, often sponsored by the Scientific Council to promote various things.

Hello! I've noticed recently that there's been a bit of confusion surrounding Datashift! 

I'd like to make a post to reiterate that Peachy/Juice (@/poopachii / @/Juucifruits) left Datashift of their own accord about a year ago and with them, their characters. Subsequently, 32, Dos, and any other characters they had created for Datashift were removed from canon entirely, and are no longer associated with Datashift. 

I have since introduced a new Error, Tor, to the AU and begun to rework the story using the characters which I had made, like A.I., Datashift Dream and Nightmare, etc. 

While I haven't been the most active on this blog (I'm very sorry for that, I've been going through a lot), it's important to note that all canon information and content about Datashift is kept on this blog (and in the discord server). Anything that does not appear on this blog and tagged appropriately isn't canon to Datashift.
