umā€¦ how areā€¦ jon and damian siblings? they said to each other that they didnā€™t want to be brothers, the closest theyā€™ve gotten to this was jon syaing he wanted a brother LIKE damian. besides growing up together which happens with your typical normal childhood best friend but the growing up thing also doesnt work because they only have known each other for what iā€™m pretty sure is just a year and jon grew up in a valcanoā€¦ away from damian, im just confused, i see them as friends but siblings is way off to me
Like, that friend you're so close with that you act as if you're siblings. A piece of paper and/or blood isn't the only way to consider someone a sibling
The fighting, the banter, the at the end of the day always having each other's back. The knowing each other like the back of your hand. Yeah, sure maybe they said they didn't want to be brothers, but when do you ever want to be siblings with your sibling?
I just think their friendship is close to the point where they might not actively consider each other family, but anyone watching them interact would think they've known each other since birth and are the type of friends that are close like siblings are. But also, my opinion isn't the do all say all, you can have your own opinions on their relationship that aren't the same as mine. That's totally chill.
I just feel like in the new WW series, the vibe Jon and Damian are giving off sibling energy, babysitting their younger sister-- I'm sure my sister and I have had those exact same conversations while babysitting my younger brother, so that why I think they're more siblings-friends rather than potentially-romantic-friends.

This might be kinda controversial but I saw another post talking about this and I agreed.
I donā€™t ship damijon/jondami. There is a couple of reasons why combined with the fact that it just never really appealed to me. They have always seemed more those kinds of friends that are so close they start behaving/viewing each other as sort of siblings to me.
Especially since Tom King, who is writing the wonder woman backups with Jon, Damian, and Lizzie, literally said that he based the dynamic between the three off of his own actual children.
After knowing that itā€™s kind of uncomfortable seeing people say that the dynamic between Damian and Jon is like a married couple when they are written with the dynamic of the authors actual sons. Like they are written as real life brothers not a couple.
Anyway, yeah. Just not a ship I can personally get behind.

Some people like to say I dismiss Damian's trauma. Which is not true, they say this because I've mentioned in previous posts that DC should stop mentioning and making up trauma for Damian to have.
I stand by my point and always will. Damian is one of my favorite characters, he is my favorite Robin and I relate to him a lot. Here is the thing though, I can't stand when a new comic comes out and writers make up new trauma for Damian rather than focusing on his character, who he is now. All recent takes of Damian's trauma is just to demonize the Al Ghuls. I mean Grant Morrison writing of the Al Ghuls is racist trash, yeah but Damian's new trauma is just straight up name dropping the other Al Ghuls even more than Grant Morrison.
"Grandfather locked me in a box without food and water in the desert for not knowing how to tie my shoelaces" "When he woke up screaming Damian's mother would scold him"
HUH?!?!
This is the sort of impact Grant Morrison's racist writing has done to the Al Ghuls
Damian is 14/15, focus on that. Focus on him hanging out with his friends. Focus on his and Talia's current relationship. Focus on them repairing it. Get into the nitty gritty of the cultural shock Damian has experienced and is experiencing. Focus on him defending himself from his racist classmate who is his bully.
Stating that Damian reads manga isn't exploring his character.

okay iā€™m sorry but also not because im not a short damian truther. Like. Itā€™s so popular but it just doesnā€™t make sense in my mind.
like the average height of a woman globally is 5ā€™3 and Talia is often cited as being 5ā€™7-5ā€™9. Which would put her at 4-6 inches taller than average. For Bruce as well, the global average height of men is around 5ā€™7 and Bruce is 6ā€™2, meaning that he is 7 inches taller than average height. Those are not small numbers.
Plus there is also the fact the Raā€™s is like 6ā€™5 which is really tall.
Btw if you use those height calculator things and put in Talia and Bruceā€™s heights you get adult Damian being anywhere from 6ā€™0-6ā€™2. (Personally i think heā€™d actually probably be taller than that but like, he would definitely at least be in the Bruce range)
Like Damian would just never be super short in my mind. Maybe when he was little cause i think itā€™d be funny if he had a late growth spurt but as an adult? heā€™s tall.
Also like there was a time period closer to when he was introduced in which he was canonically 5ā€™2-5ā€™4 at age 10/11. And while thatā€™s really tall for such a young kid, it makes more sense to me than him being like 4ā€™11 at 14 like some of yall make him.
I find it additionally funny when people say that they think he would take after Talia for height and build as if she isnā€™t tall as well. Like, sheā€™s not super tall, but she is not short either. I do kind of agree with body type though, i donā€™t think Damian would be super body builder type muscular. Like maybe later in life when he is like well into adulthood, but in early adulthood he would be more lean muscle most likely. Still strong though, just not ridiculously bulky.
Anyway, basically i have a bias in which i want all my favorites to be like me so Damian must be tall, it is the only logical answer.
