“I guarantee that my daughter could come up with a better pitch idea than anything that talentless hack has presented thus far. So, if you’d like to pull your head out of your ass and just admit you need my help, then you can have it at cost; plus an IOU.” Closing a deal always gave Fíona a rush, the thrill of a job well done, and this was no different. Sure, she’d had to get aggressive, but these particular people had had too many chances already, and she wasn’t about to give them another. Satisfied with their answer, she hung up and joined her friend with a contented sigh. “Do you ever just love what you do? Maybe not as much as your kid, what could ever rival that, but this feeling comes damn close.”
Aurora couldn’t help but chuckle as she overhead the older woman’s conversation on the phone. She glanced down at her phone,  seeing if there were any important text messages she needed to respond her. Her daughter was currently at her mother’s house for the day. She was always so excited to go to grandma’s and in turn, so was Rora. Sometimes she just needed a break and today was just one of those days. Looking back up at Fiona, she nodded her head. “Oh yeah, of course. There’s plenty of perks with working for my family. Don’t have to deal with assholes for bosses.”

“Just noting the similarities. Hardships create tough exteriors,” he replied with a slight shrug. Despite their backgrounds, being a female in a male dominant mc had it’s own struggles. As she shared a little bit about those struggles, he took a sip of his whiskey, letting the liquor burn on it’s way down. “There will always judgement for whatever you do. You don’t need to prove anything especially to the prospects.”
Tumblr media
Aurora just simply nodded her head, understanding that feeling all too well. Despite her young age, she had suffered quite the amount of traumatic events. From her father’s passing to her husband being unfaithful to her, it was enough for her to possibly break down and not bounce back. But, quite the opposite happened to her. She had to stay strong strong for both and her young daughter. It would end up paying off though, because she was not the same person she was back five years ago. “Well, you’re not wrong about that.....but it isn’t always a bad thing to put them in their place and remember who’s boss. I don’t always want to be an asshole to them but sometimes it’s needed.”

It was a busy night - busier than Chloe had been expecting, which was part of the reason why she’d decided to stop in. It almost felt like she couldn’t stay away even on her night off, but she’d rather tip her coworkers than strangers at another bar. She had plans for later, something involving driving too fast with betting involved and questionable legalities, the usual case for when Chloe actually had a Saturday night of. But a few drinks beforehand sounded nice, considering she had enough time between now and then for her buzz to dwindle down. However, not being able to flag down one of the familiar faces behind the bar was not it. Maybe not so much on the tipping front. After a few minutes, Chloe rolled her eyes and ducked behind the bar, grabbing a glass and pouring the drink herself. She looked over to another patron that had been waiting, and offered a quick smile. “I work here. I’m not like, some crazy person that just decided to help themselves.” But well, really, that did sound on brand. “It’s just my night off, and I’m not really known for being patient.” Sliding the bottle back behind the counter and putting her cash into the register, she took a sip from the glass. “While I’m back here, you want something? Or do you feel like waiting for someone who’s actually working tonight?”
Tumblr media
Aurora has had one hell of a day so an evening spent at one of the local bars was needed. Sure, she didn’t mind working at the family bakery. Her hours were pretty flexible and she had everything down when it came to her job responsibilities . But, she had to deal with a not so nice Karen who got on her last nerves. She had been nothing but bitchy towards the baker, not understanding that she couldn’t place a cake order in the morning and expect it to be ready in an hour. God, she was ready to knock out a few cold one’s.
Sitting down at the bar, she raised a brow towards the other woman. “I mean, I’m not opposed to you getting me a beer. I’ll make sure to give you a nice tip on top of that for doing this shit off the clock.”

… “That is an excellent argument, yeah.”  Perspective and all that, but the the argument could definitely be made that they were universally gross if they were all that was left, but Daisy decided to keep her mouth shut on that: the bakery was about to close, and she felt rude enough for barging in right at closing. “Daisy, or Pruitt, I don’t know if you do it by first or last.”
Tumblr media
“I have gotten into one too many arguments with my grandma about how we should just revise the menu and take stuff off that nobody buys,” she replied. To Aurora, it just seemed like a waste of time to make things that weren’t popular. But, they were all family recipes and perhaps Nana Gillenkerk was too stubborn. “Daisy, though? Alright, let me just head to the back and look for that name,” the baker nodded her head as she walked the short distance to the back of the store.  It only took her a moment to find the box that had her name printed on it. Taking it back up front, she placed the box on the counter and smiled. “Okay, it’ll be ten dollars even.”

…
“I get that,” he replied with an easy smile, hoping to help the woman relax a little. Getting to know other sectors were always rough – everyone has their walls and their limitations. He understood that but he also desired to let the awkwardness block him from getting to know the others. Despite having been in Paraiso for two years, there were members of the MC he didn’t really know. And he wanted to do his best to try and change that starting off with Aurora. “You remind me of my wife and I imagine you’ve always had to be on-guard like that? You don’t have to answer that. Just thinking out loud.”
Tumblr media
“Your wife? Is that a good or bad thing?” Aurora raised a curious brow. The conversation between them was starting to take a turn for the better after the girl calmed down a bit. Being hot headed was one of her weak points, it was just so natural for her at times. “Always have had to have my guard up, probably more now that I’m the treasurer. I have one too many prospects trying to question my rank and not learn their own fucking place,” she added on, trying not to roll her eyes at the thought. Most people had to start from the bottom and work their way up. It had humbled Aurora, who spent years in the club before she got a fancy title.

“If the flavors are shitty, then why do you make them?” The tone of the question was light, a smile offered to show that Daisy was definitely kidding. Joking came easy with familiar faces, even when she’d gotten stuck on a double shift. Daisy glanced at her own phone quickly, sighing when she realized that Aurora was definitely right, and she was pushing closing by walking in now.  “I called in an order earlier – if it’s too late, I can pick it up tomorrow morning. Sorry, the day kind of got away from me. I don’t wanna be that guy to make you box it up now, if it’s not already set aside.”
Tumblr media
“Because everybody’s got different tastes, even for the unpopular variety,” she replied with a dry chuckle. Aurora liked to think she wasn’t a completely picky eater, but there were some fruits or flavors that she just didn’t care for. Those happened to include raspberry, jelly filled anything, and grape. Yuck. Oatmeal raisin cookies weren’t any better, even if her grandma could make them wonderful from scratch. “What was the name for the order? We have a few that people haven’t picked up yet, one of em’ might be yours,” she added on. Anything that people didn’t pick up they typically donated or marked down and placed in the clearance rack.

He could only chuckle. The entitlement, perhaps a generational thing or maybe something his Paraiso brother found to be acceptable but it wasn’t something Rico cared for. “My manners – apologies,” he muttered, moving to pour her a glass of whiskey and set it down in front of Aurora before making himself a drink. “I was twenty-one when I founded this club so I shouldn’t have judged you right off the bat.” Everyone had a story – he just couldn’t picture Aurora wearing a vest. Though maybe she was more than she looks. Maybe she was spitfire in red lipstick. “I’m sure you’ve earned your place at the MC.. I was just making conversation.”
Tumblr media
It was almost natural for Aurora to have her guard up around people from differing charters. Of course, everyone within her group had learned to respect her and her role within the Crimson Riders. She had truly started all the way from the bottom, beginning as a prospect at just the age of nineteen. Shit, she was barely out of high school and already committed herself to a life full of crime and darkness. The mother had her own self doubts on if she could truly make it. Could she be a good enough member like her dad was? It took several years, but she did that and more. She was now the treasurer, rather high among the ranks. “You’re good,” she nods her head, maybe she was being a little too testy at the start of his conversation. “I have, thanks for asking. Nothing wrong with makin’ conversation, I just don’t like it when people try to question my position, y’know?”

“Can I be honest with you?” When it came to the other sectors, Rico did his best not to overstep and allow his trusted leaders to do whatever they feel was the right moves for the club. But he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that this twenty-five year old woman was holding a fairly high ranking in the Paraiso sector. “You don’t seem like the kind of girl to get mixed up into our world. What brought you here?“

It wasn’t uncommon for people outside of the Paraiso charter to be confused with Aurora and her ranking within the club. Upon first glance, she didn’t look like she would be the type of individual who would find herself being twisted in a world as dark as this. But, she was and has been for years at this point. There was no turning back now, she was in it for life. “Is that supposed to be a compliment?” she shot him a look, trying not to look annoyed. “Damn, at least buy me a drink first or something before you start askin’ questions like this.”

Location: Sweet Escapes (Gillenkerk family bakery)
Time: Late evening, around 9 PM
Status: Open
There happened to be many pro’s when it came to work for a family business. Non-shitty management, flexible hours, and familiarity. But, if there was one thing that Aurora hated, it was the closing shift. She much preferred the opening shift, but normally once or twice a week she was stuck working the opposite schedule. The day had dragged on, time barely moving. The clock was just about to strike nine, the officially closing time for Sweet Escapes. Of course, someone just had to come in. Eyes glued to her phone, in the midst of reading an important text about her daughter, she almost didn’t notice the bell ringing from the front door.
“We close in five,” she speaks out. “If you were looking to score any half off items, we only got the shitty flavors left….sorry.”

“ do you think it would be unfair to the kids if i joined in on the carnival games? ” veronica asked. she’d been watching the games from afar and the bright big stuffed animals taunted her– begging to be won. “ fuck it– i’m gonna go win a stuffed bear or something. do you wanna be my partner? ” she was lit up like a christmas tree, leaning forward anxiously waiting for the answer from the person sitting across from her
“This is an all ages event, you’re not too old for this shit,” she admitted with a chuckle. Not too many exciting things happened in a town like this, but a block party filled with carnival food and games was enough to draw people in. “Well, I can’t say I am the best at these sort of things, but I can give an honest try. Which games were you wanting to play?” she asked.

“Are you any good at this?” Aurora asked the first person who walked past her. She was currently at the Memorial day block party with her daughter Serenity. The little girl was wanting to play some of the carnival games and win something for herself. Even though the young mother thought they were overrated and rigged, she couldn’t say no to her own kid. They had spent what seemed like an eternity trying to win a round at the bucket toss and she was about to give up. “Do you think you can win us a prize? We aren’t having much luck,” she admitted.

{ kristine froseth / cis woman / she/her } ☼― Desert sands and sunset hues, Arizona is home to the one and only { AURORA GILLENKERK }.  SHE is said to be a { TWENTY FIVE & TREASURER FOR THE CRIMSON RIDERS }, living at Paraiso for almost { TWENTY FIVE  } years. They are known to be { +MOTHERLY  } and { +LOYAL } as well { - HOT HEADED } and { - CLOSED OFF }. Rumor has it, they are { WORKING WITH FOR THE CRIMSON RIDERS  }. ―☾ { Sarah / 24 / she/her / EST}
𝐓𝐖 𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐘, 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇, 𝐌𝐔𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐑
Aurora Gillenkerk had never came from a life of luxury. She had never known what it felt like to have a complete family, a comma in her bank account, or to not be constantly struggling with something. Being the result of a teen pregnancy, her mother had her at the tender age of sixteen. Her father wanted nothing to do with her or her daughter, so she was left being raised by a single parent. Aurora’s grandmother had offered to help raise her grandchild, not wanting to see her own daughter struggle with having a baby. But, she was far too stubborn and didn’t feel the need to have any assistance. The woman had gotten into this situation and she would face the challenges that would come with it. So, she would drop out of high school and make her way outside of Paraiso. She’d move a few hours away in an attempt at a fresh start and to raise her child.
While being away from Paraiso, Aurora and her mother struggled….hard. It wasn’t out of the ordinary for them to constantly get eviction notices, having little to no time to pack up what few belongings they had and scramble to find someplace to crash. Sometimes it was at a co-worker’s house, the local shelter, or inside the beater car that they owned. Either way, the blonde had learned to have many different meanings to the word ‘home’. Regardless of her chaotic upbringing, she was always thankful. Sure, she never had the newest clothes, the best toys to play with, or the nicest living situation. But, she knew that she had a mother that always loved, cared, and provided her despite the odds that were stacked against them.
Eventually, her mother found herself missing her hometown and having a close relationship with her own mom so she’d return to Paraiso after years of being away. Now that she was back in town, she would end up rekindling many of her past relationships. This would include a fling she had back during her early, post high school days. He was a bad boy, destined for no good and had family ties to the Crimson Reapers, being a member himself. They didn’t date for long, quickly losing connection with one another when she moved away. Several years passed by and they picked up where they had left off. This time though, their feelings towards one another would only intensify. The couple would end up getting engaged and married less than a year of Aurora’s mom being back in town. Even though it seemed quick, they were serious about starting a life with one another. For the first time in her young life, the girl had gotten something she had been yearning for; a person to call a father.
The older that the girl got, the more closer she grew to her step father. They seemed to instantly clicked and he considered her his own child, despite not being blood related. He was her rock and the one person that she felt like she could go for anything. It seemed like things were actually looking up for a change. Her family confined to struggle a bit here and there with finances and other things but overall, she couldn’t complain too much.
When Aurora was sixteen years old, her step father would get murdered. The young girl was working a closing shift at the family bakery when somebody had attempted to rob the place. Her father happened to have stopped over and dropped by to say hello when the situation happened. Shots were fired towards the two of them when Aurora refused to give the man any money. She managed to escape the scene with no injuries, her father using himself as a human shield to protect his little girl. He died before EMT’s could show up.
This would break her, but the pieces of her heart would get picked up by a boy. One that she would meet shortly after her father’s death while at some random party. She was sneaking out and acting out as a way to try and cope with all of her feelings. Drinking, smoking, running from the cops, the whole nine yards. Sparks flew and she fell hard for him. Aurora had never felt this kind of attraction to anybody before. He was there for her during such a difficult time in her life. He was her rock and her first love.
Flash forward a few more months and Aurora suddenly falls ill. Her symptoms are fatigue, morning sickness, and just feeling…off. She would steal a pregnancy test from the local grocery store and take it in the bathroom. Two minutes later….her life would change forever. Aurora knew that eventually wanted to become a mom, but not at such a young age. Her mom had urged her to wait to have her own children, not wanting to see her daughter struggling trying to support another life. But, it happened. Feeling so overjoyed with the news, Aurora’s boyfriend would become her fiancé after he proposed to her. When she was seven months pregnant, they’d have a small, court house wedding followed by a reception at The Sleeping Beauty. Two months later, she would give birth to a beautiful baby girl named Serenity Rose.
Everything seemed so perfect, like she was living in a fairytale. But, it was only sweet for so long. When their daughter was around the age of four, Aurora would find out that her husband had been cheating on her for several months now with another girl. She found text messages and calls on his phone. That night, in a frantic state, she bagged all of his belongings in a garbage bag and threw it at the end of the street and told him to get lost. It has been over four years now and she hasn’t seen him since. Being a single mother wasn’t anything she thought would imagine for herself, but she couldn’t stay with a man who lied to her.
Aurora wasn’t sure what she wanted to do after High School. She graduated, barely, and that was quite the accomplishment in itself. College didn’t seem part of her future. She didn’t have the funds, drive, or grades to be successful in that kind of environment. She has always loved Lancaster so perhaps staying there would make the most sense. She was becoming at an age where she was expressing great interest in becoming apart of the MC. She understood how dangerous it was and the risks that came with it, but she felt drawn to it. She knew she wanted to become a member and she was determined to put in the blood, sweat, and tears to be one.
She would become a prospect at the age of 19 and begin her journey into the MC. Her mother didn’t want her to go through it, not wanting to see her baby girl engulfed in a world like that. But, she reassured her that she was old to make her own decisions and this is what she wanted. There were times that perhaps she wasn’t 100% sure she’d become a full member. But, she was hell bent on proving herself worthy. Rora got patched in as a full member at 20 with the Crimson Riders. She’d eventually moved up the ranks to becoming the Treasurer a few years later. In addition to working with them, she is continuing to work at the family bakery (Sweet Escapes) and raise her daughter Serenity by herself.
