so the meat wasn't that great and he didn't season it because his skin is whiter than coleslaw at potluck BUT this got me thinking.
how can he be one of the smartest characters in the cast, and the most powerful sorcerer in the world, and not ever realize people hate his cooking? or not understand how recipe books work? what if...
he's faking it and is just REALLY committed to the bit. like he's been doing this for centuries but he acts so well that not even MC picked up on it.
also, it's not that he's bad at cooking, because what he creates can't even be considered cooking. he just creates biohazards and you'd have to REALLY try to cook as badly as Solomon. man's would fuck up cereal.
we also know that solomon, in the words of donald trump likes to "do a little bit of trolling"

I like to imagine an MC with ~Trauma~ (because same) that is just completely oblivious to how much all the other characters will back-flip and change entire habits for them. Like, I'm envisioning:
MC is just casually hanging out like usual when some of the brothers break out fighting in the house...like usual, and the shouting and sounds of things breaking causes them to tear up and panic a bit. Although they don't really notice that for the next month, none of them get into fights and when they start to do so, they end up taking it outside.
Or maybe MC avoiding the angels for a good while and no one can figure out why till they mention that they're not used to people treating them like that and it's very unnatural. "At least being around demons feels more normal." And none of the characters take this well. Even Diavolo has to sit down and stare at a wall for a while and reevaluate his whole outlook on things. Simeon tries sounding a bit more "rough" for a while and it flops terribly.
Or even:
MC: Oh, there you guys are, I was wondering where some of you went.
*A few of the brothers lift their head as the human enters the living room.*
MC: Is there something going on? Why are you all here?
Mammon: Sittin' here watchin' the races.
Satan: Reading.
Lucifer: Taking the time to catch up on old Devildom infrastructure.
Levi: Playing the newest Hell Souls!
MC: *A bit confused.* So you're all doing your own thing...in the living room?
Satan: That's typically what the living room is for.
MC: But...doesn't that make you uncomfortable?
*All of them realize they've never really seen MC come out of their room unless invited otherwise.*
Lucifer: *Physically vibrating in his seat trying to hold back the "Take Them Under Your Wing" urge he's started to experience at least once a week now.*
I just...listen I know they're demons but they comfort they would bring...

weird and personal tmi stories ahead, but this is so cute that I wanted to add my personal stories of being way too stubborn.
I went to work (in food service 🤭) when I had covid. I worked the entire service bent at 90⁰. I checked my temp at home, and I was at 39 degrees. so, a fever. (I tried to call in btw, I wasn't intentionally poisoning people)
another time, i was in addiction recovery and couldn't get the time off work to, yknow, recover. i was having super bad withdrawal symptoms. I was literally shitting my pants (it was mucus bc I hadn't had a bowel movement in several days but still) and throwing up brown. TMI, but all this to say:
would've been nice to have someone care enough to fight for my recovery :')
(even though I don't get sick much anymore, but a hangover or a green-out would be likely and how nice it would be to have a little buddy to take care of me)
Mc who not only is stubborn but also has a pretty strong immune system/ doesn't get a cold easily, so when they come down with a devildom flu (or flu/sickeness in general) they aren't convinced they are sick even if they are couching and trembling from the sheer cold they feel!
Mc: I'm fine- *COUGHS* I'm telling you! *says in a rapsy voice*
*Whoever obey me character is with them at the moment or taking care of them looking at them sternly as he takes the thermometer to count their temperature while forcing them to lay down* oh for the love of diavolo just stay still and listen to me!
Mc: but I'm fin- *gets cut of from the sudden urge to throw up* ...yeah actually-
Character: that's what I thought, now lay down to rest, let me take your temperature and make you some warm tea/ camomile with honey, or milk whatever you like!

• Accord the Lucifer when it comes to fishing, Mammon is a genius at letting the fish get away.
• Solomon says being around the brothers give him a desire to go nuts and be more free
• Solomon once summoned an aurora to liven up a party.
• Barbatos has given a few of his recipes to cake shop owners when they beg him for help.
• Solomon once altered a device to be able to fast forward and pause time. He lended it to Simeon believing Simeon would never use it for his own selfish purposes. Simeon proceeded to immediately use it for his own selfish purposes.
• Solomon is an amazing pole dancer but after watching Lucifer and his “expressive” body, he became determined to do even better.
• Little D. No 2 once handed out ordinary candy at a market and told everyone it was lovey-dovey candy. Satan pretended to believe it as an excuse to get closer to MC. Lucifer found that fact to be endearing.
• Belphegor was shot at and commented he would’ve been fine even it had hit him
• Mammon often covers for his little brothers’ mistakes and Lucifer pretends he doesn’t know and doesn’t punish Mammon for “his” accidents.

What if...?
A silly way of Solomon's devotion. Where was this at the start of the game? I'm not so sure. Although, I'd love to expound on this idea — atleast, for the purposes of a trope I come to love. Let's call this: "Tell me please, why can't I?"
♡.. Imagine a time where it began as the other way around: MC pining after Solomon. Had the human exchange student crave for human interaction in the literal incarnate of Hell? Go figured, it's in their nature. Of course they'd cling to him. Who else was the safest option?
♡.. Many moments pass and MC connects to Solomon like a missing thread. MC is his constant reminder of his lingering humanity, no matter how far gone he thought he was. Seeing the MC talk more about the Human realm: friends, family, places and even the most mundane things like ignoring stupid injuries, or multitasking on errands— it's almost nostalgic despite the many years the sorcerer had lived.
♡.. When MC finally builds up the courage to finally confess to Solomon, he was... shocked? Humanity was an odd topic; anthropology explaining the details of this race to a T. Solomon at this time thought that MC might as well have fallen for the demons. Like the toy they all were.
♡.. And what did he say? What did he say that determined the course of their relationship?
— "It'll pass."
♡.. He had an advantage. He was supposed to be able to become the first to MC's heart — the advantage of both being human. He and MC getting together causes the least amount of issues, but what did he do? He let them be. Let them bond with the brothers. With the others.
♡.. He only viewed them as a pawn in this endless game of life.
♡.. After that as some time came by, their relationship seemed to have continued on as normal. One might say that he and the MC had developed a friendship of sorts. This bond strengthened further when he sees them alone at the school dance — "shall we lonely singles dance together?"
♡.. That's how it should've stayed. His heart shouldn't have had a mind of his own. At night, he couldn't help but recall all their moments spent together. Solomon could no longer count the days he imagined their smile, their laughter, all that made them human...
♡.. As soon as he felt that spark — like a truck ran over him in his deepest nightmares, he realized: "oh fuck..." the platinum blonde muttered in cold sweat, panting as his mind continues to wander. He's awake. He is awake. But is he? Why is it that he's stuck in this dream?
♡.. Like a demon, Solomon felt tempted. Although, isn't that just human nature? — "what have you done to me?"
♡.. Now he knew how MC felt. And even if they was an attempt at the confession, MC's options were limited.
— "I love you like no other. Please, I... I don't want to lose you."
♡.. So they picked the least broken of the bunch.
— "I'll learn how to love you again."
♡.. It was a sentence of bliss, but to the sorcerer, he lost. Which is why when they were given the opportunity to go to the past, Solomon got to spend every moment with MC.
Every moment to enter their heart again.
To quote: "The whisper of love in the morning. Do you hear it? It's beating for you loudly."
Ah yes Solomon, aka mister "shady sorcerer who can't cook" but also "I lost my chance and now I'm taking it again." Inspire by the "fell first, didn't fell" and "fell later, fell harder" dynamic. I was inspired by how domestic Solomon acts towards MC in NB — like they were a married couple. As much as I love the demon brothers, this one got my heart... Again, just a "what if," takes inspiration from canon but I tend to deviate a LOT if that makes sense ;v;
