Got to experiment with making new brushes this one! Unfortunately I also did the Procreate mistake of quitting without undoing the a canvas resize, so the full resolution on this one is lost. RIP.
Anyway. I saw part of the Elie Saab 2022 Fall Show (Collection? IDK fashion stuff) and felt it had to be Mand’alor Din. I combined a few different looks for it, picked my favorite parts of each.
Maybe I’ll make a companion Luke piece? That I don’t accidentally lock into being half-res? (sob)

The Luke companion piece to the Din piece from earlier. Originally I had him in pants but it looked stupid so we swapped for a skirt with a slit. This one’s pretty obviously Dinluke because of the pauldron whereas the Din one could be ship-less. I’ll post the one with both of them later, it looks like a magazine cover, haha

I find interesting that in my idea of Modern!AU Luke Skywalker, he's the one wearing a leather jacket.
I've noticed that many fics have Din being the one with leather jacket (bc, Mandalorian armor- biker leather jacket, makes sense, I love those ideas too) but I also get this feeling of Luke being a mysterious dude with a black vintage leather jacket, someone you try to follow through an alley, makes a turn, disappears and you wonder if he was even real.
Plus, he needs something to match those nice shiny boots.

How would you design Anakin's Darth Vader armour if it wasn't meant to be a life support machine? Like he doesn't need the mask to survive and all that.
Good question!! I think it would look very similar to the Inquisitors’, i’ve been thinking about it for a couple of days and got carried away lmao
At first I thought the imperial style didn’t fit Anakin much and I wanted to go for a Sith style, similar to maul’s robes in TPM, but then I realized that a formal uniform would contrast more with his turbulent and cheerful old self and it would also be a way to end the Jedi/Sith era, you know? And Vader would probably hate the uniform at first, but then he’d just submit to it and his new identity in general. So yes, this is the self indulgent design I did
Vader is probably in his thirties here (and he’s more muscular)
This is how he’d look by the time of the OT, definitely not a mozzarella cheese looking old man
If you were wondering if my hand slipped with this design the answer is yes ;)

“Luke,” he said softly, “look at me.”
He had his full attention now. Before he could overthink it, Din grabbed the edge of his helmet with his other hand and pulled it off of his head entirely.
Luke went very still, eyes wide and grin gone. He knew exactly what this meant. He ghosted a hand over Din’s face, as if he was fascinated but afraid to touch it.
“Din,” he whispered, and all the confidence was gone. He started shaking harder as his control slipped. “N-n-nuh-no, y-you c-can’t — we’re...we’re n-nuh-not — ”

This scene spent so much time in my head while I was writing the fic. Way before we got to the relevant chapter. The hurt had to be deep so the comfort could be so much sweeter.
My favorite detail is the alcoves shaped like kar'ta beskar, even though you can't see much of the "good" one behind Din, lol

Please be kind I haven’t drawn anything in three months. I did my best, I’ve forgotten everything.
Priest!Din and Vampire!Luke. Luke was turned as a hot 19-year-old twink in the 70s so he’s stuck looking like he did in ANH and refuses to update his fashion. Din is just a lonely priest who somehow ends up with two vampires hanging out with him (yes, Grogu’s a vampire too). He’s a snack but also a boyfriend and father? The bishop hasn’t found out yet, so…

Hiya! I'm so happy to finally draw something after so long!! even if it's just a sketch :') Healing my relationship with drawing has been tough since my injury.
For a long time I had wanted to draw Luke and Grogu cuddling/taking a nap 💜 They're so adorable. I was thinking on drawing Din seeing them and caressing Luke's face , just being so in love with his cyar'ika holding their child.
