I HATE first sentences!
As a writer I like my chapters to begin with an exciting and gripping sentence that makes the reader goes 'huh?' followed by an entrace into the actual storyline. But those sentences are the hardest. I sit upon an whole hour figuring out that goddam first sentence. After that the words are floading out of me like a waterfall.
