I'm trying (trying) to write smut. Please never underestimate lyra's ability to completely derail a conversation. And the plot.

He smirked back, and she reflected that whatever misfortune she’d endured in present weeks, one thing had been a boon. Men with a clever sense of humour were in short supply among her usual haunts. Astarion didn’t quite have the fortitude for life at sea, but with superfluous vanity and practical viciousness in spades, she imagined he could still have lived quite successfully as a pirate. Besides — not needing to breathe or subsist off wormy hard tack were no small boons. “That’s better.” He hummed, colorless eyes a silvery-blue in the dark. Her expression had changed. “Was imaginin’ ye in a captain’s hat.” Lyra answered, tilting her head in mimery of wearing one. “With a feather’n’all. Salty leather coat, dyed black, streamin’ in the wind. Silver buckles. Tall boots. Bit ‘o blood along te curve a’ yer lip, like so.” Lyra ran a lurid tongue slowly over the edge of her mouth, watching him for a reaction. But he knew the game, and gave her only a feigned skepticism. “That is awfully specific. Do you spend a lot of time imagining me in leather?” “Eh. Only when I’m not imaginin’ ye witout any clothes atall.” “I think you’re doing a disservice to how delightful I would look in silks.” Lips pursing, Lyra gave it proper thought. “Aye, now tat is worth considerin’. Somethin’ blue. Or red maybe. With little fish embroidered on it.” “Dare I ask about the significance of the fish?” “Fish taste good.” Mouth tugging with impressed disappointment, his fangs caught the moonlight. “What, am I not allowed t’think of ye as somethin’ tasty?” She asked, not bothering overly much to hide the teasing in her grin. “Even if I’m not drinkin’ blood, I can appreciate yer other flavours.” Which was true. Men liked being swallowed. Few of them tasted appetizing enough to warrant appreciation. Astarion was salty-sweet, a seafish seasoned in bergamot, rosemary, and brandy. Fine-dining, by her measure. And he gave as good as he got, which made him better than — well, anyone else she’d had before. That was for damn sure. “If you’re trying to woo me… you’re doing a terrible job.” He informed her. Huffed.

Do you think the WoL dreams of Ardbert sometimes. Or. Like….

They unified their souls. Do you think that changed them. A WoL who used to hate a certain food finding themselves craving and loving it (perhaps Ardbert loved it, when he was corporeal) like. Am I making sense?

FFXIV Tips for Collecting All The Yokai Watch Weapons

First, the big five:

SORT YOUR INVENTORY BEFORE YOU START FATE GRINDING! You're gonna get a lot of useless enemy drops, so sort your items so you can easily find and sell them.

Spend your seals! Little by little, you're going to amass a lot of seals. Spend them on something! Buy a ton of Ventures. Or Material Containers: Even if you get a minion you already have, you can give them to friends.

Party up! Get friends; Invite complete strangers who are doing the FATES at the same time as you; Set up a Party Finder; If someone invites you to a party, ACCEPT! Just note: Even with a party, you need to get a sliver of enmity to get credit for the FATE.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO GET GOLD MEDAL ON THE FATE TO GET A LEGENDARY MEDAL! I've gotten so many on bronze and silver ratings.

TAKE YOUR TIME! It sounds like the event is lasting until the preparation of 7.0. You don't have to get all 17 weapons in one day. Maybe do 1-2 a day. For the sake of your sanity.

MORE STUFF BELOW

-Best classes: Blue Mage (you probably see why already), Tanks (enmity grants FATE credit), healers (same as Tank, but you can also heal party members)

-Recommended Blue Mage Abilities: Any ARR Primal Spells (instant damage, securing FATE credit), any AoE spells (cooldown or otherwise, just to get some AoE damage), Goblin Punch (instant attack, giving you sneaky FATE credit), Missile (see next tip)

-Missile is a Blue Mage spell that can reduce the HP of certain enemies by 50%, including SOME (some might be immune) FATE bosses. This is extremely handy and speeds up FATEs, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WAIT A SECOND! Let people do SOME DAMAGE before you rip them a new one!

-Bring healing. You never know. Healing abilities/spells, healing items, support chocobo, healing party member.

-Take note: If you have a map preference, you can just stay there and cycle between the different minions who grant you Legendary Medals there. (ie: I stayed at Western La Noscea and grinded Komasan, Komajiro, and Hovernyan back to back)

-BEST GRIND LOCATIONS:

Western La Noscea: Great teleport options, FATEs spawn RAPIDLY

Central Shroud: Crystal is in the center of the map, allows for easy teleport and travel

South Shroud: Frequent FATEs, two great teleport options

North Shroud: Same as Central Shroud

East Shroud and Middle La Noscea: Not great, but they'll be the easiest to travel for Shogunyan and USApyon

Azim Steppe: Great teleport options for Enma and Demona grinding

Dravanian Forelands: Best for Lord Anata and Zazel, cause every other HW map location is massive and a nightmare.

#060.5 - Poliwag are aquatic Pokemon that have recently grown legs; as such, they prefer swimming to trying to stand, and are inept at walking until their legs are stronger. As Poliwag age, they grow more adapt with walking on land, though they can’t do much fighting with their developing arms. As they spend more time on land and less in the water, their tail begins to recede and they produce a slimy coating from their pores to keep their skin moist. The thin skin on their abdomen shows their spiral innards; it is said that the direction of their spirals differs by area.

#061.51 - Poliwhirl are capable of living in or out of water; though they prefer to live underwater, where their is less danger. When out of water, they sweat to keep their body wet and slick, which allows them to easily slip and slide out of the clutches of any enemy in battle. Poliwhirl are Pokemon who have a branching evolutionary path, and may undergo two different evolutions depending on their daily habits, environment, and preferences. Poliwhirl who spend all their time in the water swimming long distances and their time on land training and practicing their punches, will evolve into the Water/Fighting-type Poliwrath.

#061.52 - Poliwhirl who lack a fighting spirit, but possess a dignified determination may evolve into Politoed. These special Poliwhirl are more rare, though their evolution can also be triggered through exposure to a King’s Rock. Maturing Polipad and Politoed have an echoing cry that sounds like bellowing; Poliwag and Poliwhirl who hear their echoing cry respond by gathering far and wide, looking for protection and a ruler to guide them. The curled hair on Politoed’s head is proof of their status as king. It is said that the longer and more curled the hair, the more respect an individual earns from its peers.

None of us were born knowing how to talk, walk, or create. We had to learn. We had to make baby sounds, crawl, and scribble crayons on the wall before we could do all the things we do now. Be patient. Be happy! We are still learning.

If something (websites, people, hobbies) is making you sick, stop doing it. You may not have to stop forever, but give yourself time to heal.

If you are going to stay somewhere, choose to build rather than destroy.

The lens you view the world through will affect how you see it, yourself, and others, but there will always be a lens. You cannot truly see things as they are, you can only choose how to live your life. Live humbly and earnestly, according to your conviction.

You will forget these things and remember them again. You will not always feel like you're improving. You will find new wounds. You will find new flaws. You'll make mistakes. The world will change. It's okay. You're still okay. You still deserve love.

Pro-writing tip: if your story doesn't need a number, don't put a fucking number in it.

Nothing, I mean nothing, activates reader pedantry like a number.

I have seen it a thousand times in writing workshops. People just can't resist nitpicking a number. For example, "This scifi story takes place 200 years in the future and they have faster than light travel because it's plot convenient," will immediately drag every armchair scientist out of the woodwork to say why there's no way that technology would exist in only 200 years.

Dates, ages, math, spans of time, I don't know what it is but the second a specific number shows up, your reader is thinking, and they're thinking critically but it's about whether that information is correct. They are now doing the math and have gone off drawing conclusions and getting distracted from your story or worse, putting it down entirely because umm, that sword could not have existed in that Medieval year, or this character couldn't be this old because it means they were an infant when this other story event happened that they're supposed to know about, or these two events now overlap in the timeline, or... etc etc etc.

Unless you are 1000% certain that a specific number is adding to your narrative, and you know rock-solid, backwards and forwards that the information attached to that number is correct and consistent throughout the entire story, do yourself a favor, and don't bring that evil down upon your head.
