ok, so, here's the thing
for years, i was under the assumption that ALL of Dragon Ball was just DBZ, the edgelord fighting alien animanga thing that, despite several nights worth of toonami, never really appealed to me much
however, after learning of akira toriyama's recent passing and always being a big fan of his art style (seriously, dude is insane), i figured it wouldn't hurt to finally give the manga a try
after all, i had always heard that the first portion of the story is a lot lighter in tone and actually really funny...guess what? all of that is true! i read those first 16 volumes (or, for the pedants, what's known here in the states as just "Dragon Ball" despite there being no actual deliniation between that and DBZ anywhere else in the world) in like a week (just finished up last night), and, wouldn't you know it? this thing i had always gone out of my way to avoid, turns out i actually enjoyed it (well, a portion of it, at least) quite a bit! that's better than nothin', right? serves me right for judging a book solely on its insanely successful cartoon adaptation...
also kid goku is criminally adorable seriously

if there's one thing that latest update reminded me, it's that noelle's crush on suzie is absolutely adorable and if nothing else, i'd love for there to be a satisfying conclusion for that by game's end

undertale: yellow was fun! obviously it's not as good as the actual game was, but man, for what it was? I enjoyed my time with it; really did a lot to remind me of why I enjoyed the main game so much; definitely something I could see myself playing again

Finally got around to playing "OneShot"
Now, I love the adventure game genre, always have
It was stagnant for a while, but man, I got to say: the form the genre has taken in the last decade or so has been incredible, and this is easily one of the best examples of it I've come across in ages
Great storyline, great characters, stellar soundtrack, puzzles that weren't obtuse (a rarity in this genre)...just, an incredible time
I thought the first playthrough was a good time, but then I played the Solctise DLC...just, tip notch storytelling; anyone who thinks gaming can't be capable of that sort of thing needs to check this out, absolutely stellar
Also Niko might be most memorable protagonist in ages... THEY'RE SO CUTE

why do people still try to "inform" other people that professional wrestling is a theater show when one of its biggest stars for well over 2 decades was a guy playing a zombie with magical powers

most recent update in "brian plays video games sometimes"...finally got around to playing OMORI, and I loved it instantly; like, we're talking "reminded me why i fell in love with JRPGs, invoked memories of playing Mario RPG and earthbound for the first time" sort of stuff
absolutely incredible work from all involved

just finished "what remains of edith finch" for the first time
these walking simulator games can be a bit of a mixed bag; I like 'em for the most part, but sometimes they seem to fall a bit short...this one, though, I thoroughly enjoyed!
great atmosphere, great story, very touching at points...I can see why this one resonated with so many people...I'm probably going to be thinking about it for a while myself
I was a bit wary of it before starting, because I heard a lot of people decry that there wasn't much gameplay to speak of, but, like, you know what? Call me crazy, but that didn't really bother me much; it was certainly interactive enough for me to justify being put in a video game format
It was just a great time all around...if there's any Neil Gaiman fans out there that haven't played this yet, I'm sure you'll get a lot out of it
