im usually not a staunch defender of always using the original version of something if a "better" version exists, but if you use the new remade backgrounds for the When They Cry games, youre not a real one. one case where the old weird stuff is genuinely just better. the weird blurry photos just add so much to the experience that you dont get from polished clean anime design.

apparently I can't accept the premises of comedy anime at face value even though the whole point is to have a status quo to keep the main focus on the comedy, instead of a focus on the plot saiki k: all the 'world reset' factors and the amount of control he has on the world around him means he is far more alone than the 'haha i hate life' goes. the show is somewhat about his god position without adressing it, but I think it wouldn't have taken him a year to figure out the volcano. I think he was considering wheter to save everyone or not for those six years.

spy x family: loid and yor probably know about what the other does, or at least notices all of the odd things. however the family being the first normal thing about both of their lives, (and probably first emotional connection in many years), they will risk all of that suspicious activity. they don't want to clarify things, they don't even really develop their relationship (ive only read 50ish chapters)(debatable but let me run with it), they just want stability

sakamoto desu ga? : the fatal/chronic illness theory. i got the vibes before reading the essays

tanaka kun wa itsumo...: honestly i don't really headcannon this as i wouldn't ruin the slice of life bible but i do wonder why Tanaka is like that all the time

this brings me to isekai quartet which itches this scratch so damn well. idk if anyone dismisses this as a stupid chibi show for kadokawa to sell more kadokawa, but the concept of taking the 'status quo reset' part of a comedy show and making it a mechanic in the plot? brilliant.

i need to complain about how expensive manga in germany have become. i've been reading and collecting manga for ages (i own over 2000 atp) and it's insane how expensive they are now. some of them are around the same price as regular books, which are also expensive af here. the american prices for manga were always insane to me but atp we have the same prices. how did my silly lil hobby turn into a luxury hobby?! 😭

Life is Strange is like Puella Magi Madoka Magica but with a few key differences:

There is no witches in Life is Strange.

There is something that grooms girls, but he is a creepy university professor instead of a cute cosmic bunny cat thing.

Resetting the timeline 100000 times to save your lesbian best friend is now -100% less dramatic and interesting in LiS.

The character with time traveling powers doesn't use guns (character flaw)

And, finally, Madoka Magica actually has interesting characters.
