WHAT THE HECK WHAT THE HECK
started watching old buzzfeed unsolved with shane and ryan videos a few years ago, quickly morphed into a big obsession [especially with ghost files] and their videos genuinely were the highlight of my week
currently trying to decide if their good bye youtube announcement outweighs my happiness over receiving my pjo and marylilly redbubble posters today
why can't i just exist in peace for once???? [I know this is dramatic, let me rant in peace]

"CJ is private school, CHB is public school" SHUT UP
saw something that said Camp Jupiter is private school and Camp Halfblood is public school on crack but I disagree !!!
private school kids are good at acting perfect when adults are looking, then release an insane amount of pent up energy when adults aren't around
kids in private school don't wear their uniforms right and get written up for it all the time
the doors leading into the bathroom are all padlocked open because of vaping and other stuff
teachers used to stand outside the bathroom to deter students from vaping
I witnessed a drug deal in the bathroom freshmen year
kids have shown up to school high
they nonchanlty talk about getting lit on the weekends
most of the school shares the same braincell
after the [very small] earthquake, kids were running through the halls screaming that the world was ending and that it was the rapture and Jesus was coming to take your soul [most of them were very serious]
final argument: Camp Jupiter kids are super organized and well trained when in battle or formation, but I bet they're crazy when their off duty

Electric Feel [Chapter 5]
chapter 5 of my pipabeth fic on ao3 :)
July 10th
POV: Piper
Piper awoke the next morning with Drew looming over her bunk.
"Sooooo, are you going to tell me who you have a crush on, or not?" Drew asked.
Piper rolled over in her bed, groaning, "Ugh, go away. I don't know what you're talking about."
"Don't lie to me. Not only can I sense a love aura, but I'm also your sister. So, spill. Who is it?"
Piper rolled back over, bleary eyed, and stared at her sister. "It's too early for this."
"Hmmm, this wouldn't have anything to do with a certain Daughter of Athena, would it?" Drew prodded.
Piper blushed. "Shhhh, don't say that so loud."
"Aha, so it is about her," Drew triumphed. "So, what are you going to do about it? What can I do? I love match making!" She squealed.
"I'm going to do nothing. Absolutely nothing," Piper sighed. "I don't want to ruin our relationship. Annabeth's my best friend, and I don't want to loose her. Plus, I don't even think she likes girls, and she definitely doesn't like me in that way."
"Oh, please. I've seen the way she looks at you. Friends don't longing gaze at each other every 10 seconds; and, you never saw how that girl looked at Silena. Everyone had a crush on Silena and Annabeth was not exempt," Drew chuckled.
Piper simply stared at her sister. Maybe she actually had a chance with Annabeth? To Piper, it seemed unlikely; but, if Drew thought potential was present, then maybe things could work out.
"Mmmm, I don't know," Piper drug out. "I can't just come right out and say I like her."
"I don't think Annabeth will pick up on subtlety, though. You two already act like you're dating. You'll have to really go out of your way to show her how you feel about her."
"What if I make her something? I don't do that too often."
"Oooooh, I think that's a great idea!" Drew exclaimed. "And, there's so many options. Maybe you could make her paper flowers or learn to crochet."
"Learn how to crochet," Piper deadpanned. "How would I learn how to crochet?"
"Get Kayla in Apollo Cabin to teach you; she's pretty good at it," Drew said. "Have you ever seen those headbands she wears? She makes them herself."
It was set. Piper was going to learn how to crochet. But first, she needed waffles.

Electric Feel [Chapter 4]
chapter 4 of my pipabeth fic on ao3 :)
July 9th
Piper
After a heated debate and 3 stabbed campers, Camp Halfblood agreed to screen the Pixar movie, Cars. Andy hassled everyone in the camp, trying to get them to vote for Zootopia. Alas, her efforts did not bear fruit.
Piper strolled across the grass towards the erected movie screen, spotting Percy and Jason, who were wrestling on the ground, along with Annabeth. Piper broke into a grin and ran over there.
"Jason, what do you mean you've never seen Cars," Percy whined. "It's only one of the best movies ever made."
"Dude, need I remind you I was raised by wolves?"
"Excuses, excuses," Percy shot back with an eye roll.
"Both of you shut up or I'm leaving," Piper said as she plopped down next to Annabeth. "I missed you so much!"
"Wow, why didn't we get this warm greeting?" Jason questioned.
"Yeah. You two saw each other 2 hours ago. Chill out," Percy added. "YO CONNOR, you got our snacks?"
Connor's head snapped up. "You bet, man." If you could rely on one person to smuggle anything into camp, that person would be Connor Stoll. He began digging through his belt searching for their candy orders. "Alright, let's see here. I've got War Heads for Jason, blue jelly beans for Percy, Sour Patch Kids watermelon for Annabeth, and peanut butter M and Ms for Piper."
They all expressed their thanks and Connor sprinted away to finish distributing the candy.
"Oh, Piper," Annabeth started, "I almost forgot, we already went to get popcorn, so I picked you up a bucket."
"Ooooh, thank you!"
"Shut up or I will summon skeletons to get you in your sleep!" Nico yelled. "The movie's starting."
Annabeth and Piper moved closer together and turned their eyes towards the screen.
-----
About halfway through the movie, Andy rolled over to Piper and Annabeth. Piper was pretty impressed that the young demigod avoided rolling on top of the people scoured all over the ground.
"Do you two like each other?" Andy whispered.
Annabeth scoffed, "Andy of course we like each other, we're best friends."
"Noooo, I mean like like each other. Do you like like each other?" Andy asked.
Suddenly, Piper became aware of how close she was to Annabeth, how she could feel Annabeth's shoulder and thigh against her own body. Surely she didn't 'like like' Annabeth, right? They were best friends, inseparable even. Piper thought of Annabeth all the time, because everything reminded Piper of the daughter of Athena. And, yes, Annabeth was incredibly smart, and beautiful, and caring, and brave and-
... and
... and
Oh fuck. Piper liked liked Annabeth.
Piper was pulled from her thoughts at the sound of Annabeth's voice. "What? Andy, no way. Piper and I are just friends, okay? Why don't we go back to watching the movie now."
They were just friends; and Piper would not ruin their friendship with romantic feelings. Romance made things messy.

Electric Feel [Chapter 3]
chapter 3 of my pipabeth fic on ao3 :)
July 5th
POV: Annabeth
Annabeth awoke the next morning embarrassed, yet, she had to admit, well rested. She wasn't plagued by the usual nightmares that consumed her rest. She felt content laying next to Piper in her bunk. She didn't know what time it was, but the sun was shining through the curtains and the cabin was empty. As Annabeth started to leave the bunk, Piper began to rouse.
"Annie, what time is it?", Piper groaned. Piper was not a morning person.
Scanning the room, Annabeth spotted a Scooby Doo alarm clock, which read 9:15 AM.
"9:15 AM," Annabeth answered. "I guess we slept through breakfast."
"Eh, that's alright. I slept so good," Piper said with a yawn.
"Yeah, me too. No nightmares." Annabeth looked down at Piper and recalled the events of last night, with a growing blush on her cheeks. "Piper, um, I'm really sorry about last night. I tried really hard to not let that happen but it did anyway and I ruined your night and I-"
"Annabeth Chase you have nothing to apologize for," Piper interrupted. "I swear to the gods you did not ruin anything. I'm just glad you let me help you. I'm so proud of you that you got through it."
Annabeth still felt embarrassed, but a bit more at ease. "Well, thank you for everything."
"Anytime, Annie. Can I see your fingers?", Piper asked.
Annabeth had forgotten that she broke her 3 week 5 day streak of not picking her finger nails, but reluctantly gave her hands to the other girl. Piper took Annabeth's hands in her, assessing last night's damage.
"At least it's not all your fingers, right? Can I bandage them for you? It might stop you from making them bleed again."
"Sure," Annabeth replied, "but only if you have the fun bandaids."
"I don't know if my bandaids are as cool as the Apollo Cabin's, but you can check them out."
The girls got out of the bed, with Annabeth following Piper to the bathroom. Annabeth hopped up on the counter while Piper searched for the bandaids.
"Okay, looks like we have sharks, Hot Wheels, Minions, dinosaurs, flowers, and tie dye. Take your pick," Piper said with a smile.
"Mmmm too many choices, surprise me" Annabeth replied.
"Your wish is my command, Daughter of Athena," Piper said with a bow. "I'm going to have to clean them first, though. Can you wash your hands to get the dried blood off first?"
After washing and drying her hands, Annabeth gave them back to Piper, who had rubbing alcohol pads in her hands. "This is going to sting a bit."
Piper cleaned her fingers with utmost care and applied a healing ointment to each of her injured fingers. She picked out an assortment of colorful bandaids and carefully wrapped them around each finger; not too tight, but not too loose, leaving a gentle kiss on each one.
"Done! Check out that handy work. I'm coming for Will's job," Piper shouted.
"I love all the colors. Thank you, Piper."
"Of course. Wanna go find some food? I'm starving," Piper said as she held her stomach.
Annabeth felt so lucky to have Piper as her friend. "I could go for some pancakes. Race you to the kitchen!"

Electric Feel [Chapter 2]
chapter 2 of my pipabeth fic on ao3 :)
tw: anxiety attacks [sort of], skin picking
does this count as angst ???
July 4th
Annabeth has always hated crowds. For as long as she can remember, large groups of people made her nervous. But, today, she was determined to not let her fear get in the way.
Prior to the bonfire, she stuck to her usual routine, since changes often contributed to her anxiety. The day was going well, almost too well.
By the time Annabeth and Piper arrived to the fire pit, only a handful of campers were there. The two girls took a seat on their typical log, and were quickly joined by Nico and Will.
A motor oil covered Leo, accompanied by his younger brother Harley, barreled through the crowds. The pyromaniac brother duo never passed up the opportunity to light camp fires.
Percy and Jason, however, arrived to the fire, covered in mud, after everyone had taken their seats. It appeared the 2 boys had been mud wrestling again.
Percy and Jason joined the 4 on the log. Despite both of the couples breaking up, they all remained close friends.
A mud-caked Percy attempted to sit between Annabeth and Piper. Annabeth kicked Percy's ass off the log with no hesitation.
"What the HADES are you doing Seaweed Brain? Neither of us want to be covered in mud!"
"Nooooo, Wise Girl you don't understand. Mud wrestling is a lifestyle. You are truly missing out. My bro Jason here understands the mud lifestyle. Right, Jason?"
Jason, who was staring at Leo from across the fire-pit, brought his attention back to the log. "What? Oh, yeah, mud wrestling is a lifestyle. Once you try it you can never go back."
"Campers," Chiron's voice boomed, "tonight we shall see if Percy's 36 marshmallow record can be broken! Who is up first?"
Will collapsed on to Nico, "UGGGHHH, why does everyone have to make my job so much more difficult than it needs to be? Who raised these demigods to be feral animals?"
"To be fair," Nico started, "most of these kids weren't raised by anyone."
"HEY," Percy objected, "Sally Jackson is an amazing mother and I am not a feral animal. If anything, I would prefer 'free spirited fish'."
"Chill out there 'free spirited fish'. I love Sally, but you're literally covered in mud right now," Annabeth added with an eye roll.
Percy huffed. "Whatever, I'm still going to hold my title as Marshmallow King. I don't want to hear your wrong opinions anymore."
------
POV: Annabeth
By this time, the camp fire was in full swing. The flames were high in the sky tonight, fueled by the campers' anticipation of the Hermes/ Hephaestus Cabin 4th of July Fire Work Show.
Annabeth and Piper had moved from off the log and onto the ground. The 2 sat side by side, with Piper's head on Annabeth's shoulder. Piper's warm body grounded Annabeth; yet, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.
She attempted to ignore the overwhelming amount of noise and music around her, but to no avail. Her chest felt tight, almost as if she couldn't breathe.
Piper opened her eyes and lifted her head from Annabeth's shoulder. "Hey, Annie, you ok?" Piper pulled the other girl's hands into her own. "Your fingers are bleeding."
Annabeth hadn't even realized she was picking her nail beds. She's had this nervous habit since she was a child, and just couldn't seem to shake it. "Oh... sorry, I didn't realize I was doing it." Articulating every word felt like a struggle.
"Hey, you have nothing to apologize for. You want me to see if any the Apollo campers have any bandaids? They always have the fun patterned ones," Piper adds with a smile.
"Oh, umm....", Annabeth felt like she was underwater, off in some far away place. Piper ran her fingers over Annabeth's knuckles in a soothing manner. "Sorry.. w-what were you asking?"
"Do you wanna take a walk with me?", Piper asked in a calming voice. Annabeth shook her head yes.
------
POV: Piper
Piper could sense something was off with her friend. Annabeth made a valiant attempt to stop picking her nails, but often started when she was stressed. It seemed as though Annabeth was zoned out and couldn't think straight, which was very unusual for the daughter of Athena. As Piper put the pieces together, she realized Annabeth might be having an anxiety attack. Sometimes Piper forgot about Annabeth's struggle with mental health. It wasn't that she didn't care. It was just that Annabeth was the strongest person she knew, and Annabeth was scarily talented at hiding her emotions. Piper hadn't witnessed one of her anxiety attacks in months.
Piper stood up, taking Annabeth with her, and led them to the empty Aphrodite Cabin. Once the door was shut, Piper focused on making Annabeth feel as safe as possible.
"Hey, Annie, I know talking is hard right now, so just shake your head yes or no, okay? Touch or no touch?"
Annabeth shook her head no and pulled her hands from Piper's. It hurt Piper to know that Annabeth wasn't comfortable with holding hands at the moment, but did it anyway. Piper never wanted to make Annabeth feel like she couldn't be herself or express her needs and desires.
"Do you want me to talk or to be quiet?", Piper asked. Annabeth held up one finger to indicate she wanted Piper to keep talking. Along with her quickening breaths, Annabeth writhed her hands out in front of her in attempts to keep the rest of her still, but it looked like she was in pain.
"You're safe. Everything is going to be ok, I promise. I won't let anything happen to you," Piper was careful not to add too much charmspeak, but just enough to help calm her friend down. "You don't need to be still. You can move around if that'll help you."
Annabeth visibly signed in relief. She was always careful not to fidget too much, because people often looked at her oddly when she did. She began pacing the length of the dark cabin and swinging her arms back and forth.
Piper kept her distance to give the other girl the space she needed at the moment, but grew nervous when Annabeth began to tug at the roots of her braids. "Hey, Annie, you shouldn't do that, you're going to hurt yourself. Take a deep breath. In... and out... Good. Breathe in..... and out. You're going to get through this. You're doing such a good job."
Piper grabbed her weighted, stuffed dinosaur, Bernardo, from her bunk. She slowly walked towards Annabeth and held the plush out to her, which she willingly accepted. "Keep taking deep breaths. You're going to get through this, you're not alone. You are safe, I promise."
After about 10 minutes, it seemed Annabeth wore herself out. She approached Piper with hesitation. Piper thought Annabeth wanted a hug, but she didn't want to overwhelm her if she wasn't ready yet. "Do you want a hug?", Piper asked, to which the other girl shook her head yes.
Piper opened her arms and Annabeth melted into them. Annabeth began to cry. "I'm s-sorry," she said. Words were definitely still hard for her.
"Shhh, it's ok. you have nothing to apologize for." Piper rocked them back and forth, gently, just the way Annabeth liked it. "I'm your friend. Helping you is not a burden, ok? I love you and you never have to be ashamed of this."
Piper slowly guided them to her bunk and sat down on it, all while keeping her grip on Annabeth. The two nuzzled together with the array of plushies and blankets on Piper's bed. Annabeth laid her head on Piper's chest as her tears slowed.
"You can go to sleep," Piper mumbled into the top of Annabeth's head. "I know you're tired. I'll stay right here. I've got you."
Annabeth sighed and sunk deeper into Piper's body. She didn't want to move Annabeth into Cabin 6 later, so she texted Annabeth's brother, Malcom, to let him know that Annabeth would be staying in the Aphrodite Cabin tonight. She also texted Drew, asking the rest of her siblings to be quiet when they came back from the camp fire.
"Goodnight Annie. Love you."

Electric Feel [Chapter 1]
chapter 1 of my pipabeth fic on ao3 :)
July 4th
POV: Piper
The sun set on Camp Halfblood, painting the lake in an array of pinks, oranges, and yellows. Younger campers ran about, squirming with anticipation of the s'mores soon to come. If tonight's bonfire was anything like last week's, Will was sure to have his hands full in the infirmary. Young demigods [including the 17 year old Percy Jackson], tended to ignore their sugar capacity, and held competitions to see who could eat the most marshmallows.
Piper dodged the eager children, and made her way across the grass toward the Athena Cabin. She and Annabeth agreed to meet at Cabin 6 and walk to the bonfire together.
Piper began to shiver. It was an unusually chilly night for July; and, her hair still damp from the shower, only added to her growing discomfort. She climbed the worn, wooden steps of the Athena Cabin and knocked on the pale blue door. Annabeth's younger sister came tumbling out the door and into Piper's legs. The small child refused to let go and began bombarding Piper with questions.
"Piper, Piper, Piper! Are you here for Annabeth? She's been talking about meeting you alllllll day" the small camper squealed. Piper was 73% sure that this was 6 year old Andy. The chatty girl arrived with an annoyed satyr at the start of the summer.
Andy did her best to imitate Annabeth's voice, and she was surprisingly good at it, too. " 'I'm going with Piper to the bonfire tonight', 'What should I wear?', 'None of you better bother me tonight', 'If any of you come to me with stomach aches, so help me gods....'. I'm planning on winning tonight's marshmallow eating competition!"
Piper was quite amused and replied with a smile, "Oh really? How many are you planning on eating?"
"37", Andy replied. "Piper, have you ever watched Zootopia?"
Andy's ability to talk so fast was pretty impressive. "No, what's it about?"
Andy began to rock on her heels, unable to contain her excitement. "This bunny named Judy Hopps becomes a cop even though her family doesn't think she can do it but she does it anyway and then she goes and gets a job as a police officer in Zootopia but they put her on meeter maid duty but she knows she can do more and she ends up trying to solve a mystery with a fox named Nick Wild." By the time she was finished, Andy was out of breath.
Piper was genuinely interested in this movie. She loved animated animal films. "Wow that sounds like a really cool movie! I'll have to watch it with you some time."
Finally, Annabeth walked out onto the porch. "Oh no. Andy, were you telling Piper about Zootopia?"
"YES! I LOVE ZOOTOPIA!" Andy screeched.
"I am very well aware," Annabeth said with a smile. "Why don't you tell Piper how many times you've watched it in the past week?"
"12. I've watched it 12 times!"
"WOW. That is some true dedication right there," Piper replied.
"Yeah we're all hearing the Zootopia soundtrack in our sleep," Annabeth said with an eye roll. "Andy, why don't you go back inside and put on a sweatshirt for the bonfire. It's pretty cold out here, and last time, you complained the whole time you were cold."
"Only if I can bring your fire blanket. Can I bring your fire blanket?"
"One, I told you to stop calling it the 'fire blanket'. People are going to think I'm a pyromaniac," Annabeth sighed. "And two, only if you say 'please'."
"Ughhh. But 'fire blanket' sounds so menacing. Can I please bring your 'not a fire blanket' to the bonfire?"
"Of course you can. It's on the my bunk."
Andy scurried back in the cabin, leaving Piper and Annabeth on the porch of the Athena Cabin.
Annabeth looked at Piper. "What are you smiling about?", the blonde asked.
"mmmm... I'm just excited for tonight. Also, Andy's really cute," Piper replied.
"Yeah, she is. But seriously, I cannot get the Zootopia soundtrack out of my head. I think I know every line from the movie by now," Annabeth said with a chuckle. "Hey, are you going to be warm enough? It's getting pretty cold, and you don't have a jacket or anything.
"OH MY GODS, Annabeth are you slut shaming me, telling me to cover up? How could you do this to me? I though you were a feminist?"
The look on Annabeth's face was priceless. "WHAT NO NO, that's not how I meant it, I swear. I just meant you might get cold, and you're wearing shorts and a tank top and your hair's wet.. and ... I don't want you to get sick or something. Gods know Will already has enough on his hands."
Annabeth's rare lack of eloquence is always quite the sigh to see. "Geez, take a breath Chase, I was just joking with you. I know you would never object to seeing me in minimal clothing."
Annabeth rolled her eyes and let out a huff. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Do you want to borrow a sweatshirt or not? I should just let you freeze now."
"NOOO please, accept my deepest apologies. May I pretty please borrow a sweatshirt?"
"Fine," Annabeth replied with feigned annoyance. "I'll be right back."
Annabeth returned about 47 seconds later [not that Piper was counting or anything], bearing a dark blue sweatshirt with an embroidered sun on the chest. This was Piper's favorite sweatshirt that belonged to Annabeth. It was well worn, soft, and comfortable. And-bonus points- it smelled like Annabeth, and Annabeth always made her feel safe.
"Oh, Annabeth, you are my lord and savior. I worship the ground you walk on."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. Now, let's go, I want to beat the rush of people."
