The Winner of the Amino Acid Swag Tournament is...
Hello, hello, hello everyone!
Yes, I am actually alive. Surprise, surprise! I would have updated this sooner, but I had been busy with school and then I went on vacation with my friends. It was pretty fun, thanks for asking.
I really am sorry, though, for taking this long to finally finish this tournament. It was constantly in the back of my head. I didn’t expect life to get this hectic.
Now, let’s finally close this tournament. Tumblr has made a decision on which of the twenty aminoacids is the most based, the most legit, the most astounding!
Ladies, gentlemen, and fellow esteemed guests, it is a great pleasure, honor and privilege to announce that, after five rounds of intense fighting, the winner of the amino acid swag tournament is…
Glycine vs Tryptophan => TRYPTOPHAN

Fun facts about our winner:
1. Tryptophan’s side chain is an indole.
2. It’s a precursor of melatonin, serotonin and vitamin B3
3. It is considered an essential amino acid, because humans can’t synthesize it by themselves. We can only obtain it via our diets.
4. Along with methionine (who got eliminated in the first round. press F to pay respects), tryptophan is only encoded by one codon. In its case, it’s UGG. Yes, UGG. Like the fucking boots.
With that, this tournament has been concluded. It was such a fun journey and I really enjoyed it. I hope you guys enjoyed it, too.
I think I will keep this blog, but I won’t be active as much. You can check out my other tournament @bestclone-tournament if you want to experience more of my shenanigans. This tournament has also been kept temporarily on hold until I can go through all my submissions, but you can stick around, if you’d like. I may also use this blog to promote other contests. I dunno. We’ll see.

Welcome to yet again another tournament!! I am @goodoldfashionednerd and I will be your host in our quest to find the best book brotp

Submission rules:
This is a poll to determine what pair has the best friendship in a book, so submitted characters need to be canonical friends
All genders are allowed, of course!!
Exes are allowed, but not people who end up in a romantic relationships
Duos are preferred, but if there’s a group of characters who are really a trio and none of them are dating each other, I would consider it (send me an ask if you’re not sure!)
Please do not submit the same character several times, and keep it to only one character per form
You can submit as many character as you like, as long as you use one form per character!
Propaganda is highly encouraged, but keep it respectful (no insulting characters or people who like x character, please don’t say you’ll k!ll yourself if a duo doesn’t win even as a joke, this is just a fun tournament, let’s be mature about it)

Okay, I just got my little sister @real-afkpro to do data entry for me (don’t worry, she is neurodivergent, she asked for it) and turns out that, after removing the repeats and the invalid submissions, we’re still short of approximately 20 submissions in order to get to 128.

Try to be as unique as possible. You can ask me if any characters have already been submitted.
Also, please no robots. They don’t count as clones. They’re mechanic.

This bracket is for album covers - NOT albums - that look really cool. It doesn't matter if the album itself is good, only, and i mean ONLY vote the album cover you like more, instead of based on the album itself!
SUBMISSION FORM! Closes on March 31st at 3:00 pm EST.

RULES:
DONT VOTE BASED ON HOW MUCH YOU LIKE THE ALBUM! ONLY VOTE BASED ON THE COVER OF THE ALBUM!

With that, I think it’s time to turn off the submission form. From now on, no more submissions will be accepted.
I have decided to use a 128 bracket chart I found online. This means that, obviously, some characters will not be able to make it to the final bracket.
