PSA: SAID IS NOT DEAD. Said is not an overused word you need to cull out of your drafts. Said is not the devil. Said is a dialogue tag that your reader's eyes glaze over, barely noticed, allowing your dialogue to shine. Allowing your characters to speak without the narration overshadowing them. Said is doing a wonderful, thankless job! Said is not dead, you take that back—

also I love the relationship between Lune & the Pevensies.
it’s so easy to imagine that dynamic, and what must have existed between his wife and the girls. like, suddenly the winter is over and archenland can breathe again (side note: was the witch limited to narnia? c.s. lewis isn’t clear –surprise, surprise) but there are four tiny children crowned as kings and queens.
and lune is a young man himself, but he was trained to be king, and they weren’t. they are young and parentless and in need of guidance, and lune is happy to do everything he can to help them. and archenland is narnia’s fondest friend and dearest ally, and I’m getting overwhelmed imagining what that relationship must have been like. The fondness and trust and friendship between the monarchs of these two countries is so deep (after all, Lune trusts Edmund with his only son, after his firstborn was stolen, trusts him to protect him in a foreign country and bring him home again)…and lune & edmund respect each other’s guidance; edmund himself is tempered by lune’s wisdom and that must be the dynamic that was established when the pevensies first arrived in narnia.
it’s just really great, and I’m really feeling the Lune feels.

you are 23
and your hands hold steady the block of wood you are shaping
and the sweet aromatic smell of sawdust is curling around you
maybe your mother’s voice floats through an open door
to tell you a meal is ready
maybe you still have something to learn about carpentry
as you work alongside Joseph
30 years is a long time to spend waiting
quietly faithful,
caring for your mother and your father, for your sisters and your brothers
working with your hands ‘til the hands of God are calloused
going to the synagogue to hear your words read week upon week
you are 23
you are patient
building a whole life of not my will but yours, Father
maybe you pick up a nail from the workbench
look at it
and know 10 years from now
rough hands will hold you down and drive a spike through your wrist
spilling blood onto rough wood
maybe you are already making that sacrifice now
quietly faithful
maybe you can teach me how to be 23
waiting, quietly faithful
caring for my mother and my father, my sisters and my brothers
working with the hands God gave me
hearing your words week upon week
build in me a whole life of not my will but yours, Jesus

What makes my heart flutter about this scene is that Peeta doesn't care that he just died. He cares that Katniss cares that he just died. He's husband material-ing all over the place.

talking to people while holding a beverage is awesome because you don't have to know what to do with your hands and when you don't know what to do with your face you can just take a sip

Sometimes, Amazon Music glitches, and it decides to put the explicit label on random songs. I’ve had it do it to worship songs, and even an instrumental piece.
Now, it has decided that our first dance song is explicit:
Beware, Andrew Peterson has changed his style.
