Nedzu: Again, I cannot say I favor one over any other. This is not due to some perception of bias as in the case of a 'favorite student' but due to other reasons. There are select heroes that I am on amicable terms with and enjoy working alongside, but I would not allow personal feelings towards a hero be they positive or otherwise influence our interactions as heroes or, if requested, during advisement on a variety of matters.

Nedzu: Our students' mental health is taken quite seriously here at UA. Their minds are their most precious aspect and balancing the stress of education and allowing our students to develop healthy coping methods for their chosen paths is paramount.

Nedzu: Aside from our teachers being trained in identifying potential disabilities and the effects of stress, UA has a number of trained and highly trusted psychological professionals on call when the need arises.

Nedzu: That being said there have been cases when a student has not been identified properly through happenstance or by design to avoid labels or the judgment of a person's peers be it their own or a guardian's. Nedzu: If I understand the question correctly, the joke is that I am supposed to be committing crimes to be given a long lost Pre-Quirk treat?

Nedzu: Given that the company which initially owned the item was bought out and ownership changed hands fifteen times since the emergence of Quirks, I suppose I would have to do some investigative hacking in order to find out which owner still possesses the rights and then either buy it from them or recreate the item myself.

Nedzu: So... at the very least this would be computer trespass and burglary, information theft, intellectual property violation, possession of stolen goods, and destruction of evidence. If I share the item then it would be distribution of stolen goods as well as conspiracy and fraud. Quite the number of crimes for something so small and ultimately not worth the time spent in jail or the monetary compensation inevitably demanded.

Nedzu: I believe it would be simpler to download a 'copycat recipe' and recreate the treat that way.

Nedzu: Setting aside the fact that you are forgetting about individuals such as Cementoss, UA faculty as a whole are all serious. Or rather, they are serious when it comes to work and their chosen professions. Their actions 'off the clock' as it were are a myriad of ways to relieve stress as both heroes and teachers. Self-care is important!

Reporter: Are you implying they're all insane?

Nedzu: No more than I or you yourself. I am sure that you understand that both professions are known to accumulate stress. This can be managed and alleviated and given that they work at a high school for heroic education, they are expected to model acceptable self-care methods for the students even if they are less likely to perform it for themselves.

Nedzu: To my understanding high schools are expected to discourage all dating but in practice it seems to be specifically focused on preventing pairings that could result in students siring a pup. And, of course, to ensure that the students are occupied more with their education than with any budding romance.

Nedzu: UA does not have any specific rules in place regarding students dating at this time although we do our best to ensure that students stay focused on their studies both on and off school grounds. That being said what they do outside of our school's halls is beyond our ability to see or fully prevent. Likewise while an explicit ban on dating would prevent some students it would only serve as an enticement to others as per the concept of the 'forbidden' being that much more appealing than it would be otherwise.

Nedzu: That being said we have a very informative multi-phase lecture on sexual education for our second year students. Ever since its implementation, we have never had any issues with our students barring unfortunate events outside of their control. Ideally this would be also given to our first year students for their safety and physical well-being but it has been said that they are too young for such information.

Do you love your students? Would you consider sacrificing yourself for the safety of your kids/students?

█████: I suppose it depends on the context of what the 'sacrifice' is however I believe I understand what you meant. As terrible as it may sound, I cannot say yes although I would wish to yet the answer still is not 'no'. I would do nearly anything to ensure my students' safety and well-being. A few of the options would be considered less than legal. A few more are not quite moral.

█████: The life you save can mean the world to others and a being placing themselves into harm's way to ensure the safety of others is quite honorable and very heroic. But allowing oneself to die in the act means that you have caused others to mourn your absence and have robbed the world of what you could do to ensure its safety. It is an important question one must consider given our chosen profession and that of any prospective hero.

█████: There are only so many times one's body can move before one can think over the action after all.

█████: There are many things of myself that I would give up to ensure their safety and there have been multiple times I have tossed aside my pride to plea on their behalf. The students attending UA are all mine, given to me out of the trust of their relatives and guardians so that I can grant them the greatest advantages for their future. I want to see them succeed and I want them to be the best and greatest versions of themselves that they can be. For them to go beyond what humanity expects of them and change the world for the better.

Do you feel bad when you suspend or expel a student?

Nedzu: I do. Suspension is one thing as it is often can help the student realize that their actions are placing them at risk, but to expel a student outright? It is a failure that we are unable to help guide them regardless of what type of poor behavior they have committed.

Nedzu: In many instances all the student needs is to be placed in a different homeroom or course track. The new environment and direct exposure to an unfamiliar set of social dynamics, although it is a less drastic shift than it would be otherwise, is typically enough to help break them out of whatever pattern they had long enough for them to begin to change and improve.

Nedzu: However in the cases where a student must be expelled from UA, it is necessary for the safety and well-being of other students and due to the student in question's staunch refusal to change. Even so we still try to provide the student the tools they will need to better themselves and hope they gain the help they need.

Nedzu: Of course I would pay my faculty for performing any work outside of what they are already employed for but you are mistaken on a few things.

Nedzu: I can safely assume that word spread of a discussion about converting the school to a boarding school. Clearly the full details were not shared as the plans are not officially in use.

Nedzu: We have considered the risk to our students should they be targeted on the way to school but this is a common problem of all heroics schools and not merely something unique to UA. There are multiple factors at play that prevent such an idea, the most vital of which being that most families or guardians to our students would prefer to have their children at home even though socially at their current age they are deemed more independent and self-sufficient than they were before. This is quite understandable as part of the drive to protect one's children, whether they are of one's blood or claimed.

Why did you become a principle?

Nedzu: I have been asked this question on many occasions. As I said before: of all possible fields it was education that always fascinated me.

Reporter: But with a mind like yours, you could've been anything! Done anything!

Nedzu: Indeed! While many possibilities were declined for a variety of reasons, there were ones which I can do as a hobby such as programming and engineering. But aside from my work as a Pro Hero I felt that I could do the most good in the world as a principal.

Nedzu: You cannot imagine me as anything but a principal, can you?

Reporter: A teacher but that's still academia. I guess some people are just born to do things.

Nedzu: I disagree. No being is born for a specific task or goal and no being must be confined to a role they are expected to play. Least of all should a life-form be created to fulfill an precise purpose. I am a principal because I chose to be one and not because I was meant to be.

How many students does the school have every year?

Nedzu: The answer to your question varies every year and changes further over the course of each year depending on multiple factors.

Nedzu: Although we have the means for triple the amount if not more, the number most often averages out to about a thousand students in attendance. There are however times when due to factors beyond our control the number is lower in spite of acceptance to our various programs. As an example, I project that in the year following our next entrance exams that we will have 985 students in attendance.

Reporter: That is rather small. Doesn't that mean that some of your homerooms have only 20 to 30 students? Other schools have 40 or 50.

Nedzu: Correct! While the numbers within our homerooms vary based upon the course type for safety reasons, the application process and UA's status as a world-renowned school means that we are perceived as being quite difficult to gain acceptance into simply due to the sheer number of applicants.

Reporter: Wasn't the poll a few years back something like 10,000?

Nedzu: The account that you are referring to was 24,671 prospective students. You can imagine that we were rather busy that year.

Reporter: I forget was it for the school as a whole or just the Heroics practical?

Nedzu: It may surprise you to learn but it was just to the Heroics course, however there was some overlap with our other courses. There were a number of applicants who got what you might call 'cold feet' at the gate, or were unintentionally intimidated by their peers. Others faltered during the exams. Of course there were also students who applied from other countries and were unable to reach Musutafu in time and the occasional prank application. In the end the number often listed was not what our faculty had to actually process whether in testing or in grading.

I have unfortunate news regarding one of our students. Through no one's fault and least of all the child's own actions, Student 031995 is now the target of tabloid journalists as a presumed relative of myself. To be specific: my presumed 'secret love child'.

Yes, I am aware of the improbability of the matter. To say nothing of the multitude of questions implied by a sapient quirked animal siring a pup.

Seeing as how attempts to deny will be regarded as confirmation of the 'secret' aspect and attempts to disprove will be disregarded as a conspiracy to hide 'the truth', I apologize for what some will call the 'media feeding frenzy' that is on the horizon.

Due to this I am forced to offer said student the same level of protection as though she actually is my child in order to ensure her safety both on and off the school grounds. Whether she is indeed a relative (more likely to be the descendant of a cousin or sibling all things considered) or if it is simply an inexplicable coincidence as per random chance of how quirks function, please do not allow any of this influence how you act towards her as a student of UA.

It is unnecessary for me to say this but I will know if you do.

Nedzu: There are a few flaws in such an idea. First, although I do give the student body a few lectures as needed, I do not interact with the students on a regular basis so I cannot form an opinion one way or another towards their persons.

Nedzu: There is simply not enough time to maintain a constant study of every individual or interaction on the school grounds. In theory I could track an individual but with all my duties as principal to say nothing of interacting with people via email and other communication methods I simply do not have the time unless something is brought to my attention.

Nedzu: Second, students are rarely sent to my office as UA faculty are quite capable of handling most issues. I meet with parents and guardians more frequently than with the children themselves. That being said the children who are sent to meet with me are typically in need of assistance or warning that they were unable to gain from their teachers.

Nedzu: Third, furthermore given my position as principal I must be impartial. If I allow myself to have favorites then the system as a whole would be open for abuse! Can you imagine the trouble that would cause not only myself or UA but the academic system as a whole?

How can you ensure your students safety?

If the question is in regards to their safety as part of their education, the answer changes slightly depending on the department in question.

Heroics Course students are monitored at all times by at minimum one of our teachers when they are engaging in practical classes or utilizing our training facilities. Unfortunately sometimes students overexert themselves during practice whether they are utilizing their quirks or engaging in physical training. We have dedicated on-site resources to minimize risk of harm.

Support Course students are also monitored at all times by at minimum one of our teachers while utilizing the school's laboratories. There is a case-by-case basis of students being permitted to use the facilities without observation however this is generally limited to third year students and most commonly done in preparation for their finals.

Our Management Course and General Course students are not at the same risk of harm however they still are granted the same safety measures should they be in said facilities. This is also true of students who have elected to apply to multiple courses (ex: Business and Support) and have passed the entry exams or placement exams for them.

If the question is in regards to their safety on the school grounds as a whole, please be reassured that our security measures and faculty are more than capable of ensuring our students' health and well-being.
