I know a lot of people say Alastor is totally evil and doesn't care about anyone but himself, only using Charlie for his own goals
It's true that he is associating with Charlie in the first place bc he has his own uses for her
I get that but I have a slight disagreement?
He DOES care about Charlie enough to go to bat for her and truly believe in her strengths (while still acknowledging he plans to use it for his own gain lol), despite what he says about her ideas for redemption, he even proudly admits this to Rosie
Which is surprising, he genuinely is fond of her
Ofc he cares about his own schemes and reputation way way wayyyy more and is not above taking advantage of her misfortune to benefit himself in the end
It's just a cool juxtaposition and complexity I noticed in terms of his relationship with Charlie at least
Then his relationships with other people (all women somehow lmao) like Nifty, Rosie, and Mimzy are interesting too bc he is also genuinely fond of them
He actually in a way enjoys being helpful to the people he cares about, giving his mic to Charlie to support her, then being infamously known for helping Mimzy out of tight spots
He even only just sternly reprimands her for taking advantage of him while still trying to keep their friendship intact? Like a responsible adult??? When he got extremely intense and violent with Husk for insulting him once??? Insane
You would think a cut throat edgy sinister character like him wouldn't care about anything but manipulating people like he has done but he is actually quite human despite what demonic things he's done
