idk if this is controversial or not, but I really like when non-professional writing like fic has hints of author bleedthrough when it comes to like, what different people assume is common knowledge. Like sometimes I’ll be reading a fic and it’ll just be obvious that the person writing it is either obsessed with medicine or has been to medical school, because they’ll use terms that are just a shade too technical without explaining them. It’s never the super specific stuff that they’d know other people are unaware of, it’s always the things that once you’ve known it for a while you forget it’s niche knowledge. It’s fun because as a fanfic reader it reminds me of how this is a fun hobby community, where everyone has their own thing going on outside of fandom. Everyone’s got their own specialties and they can’t help but write that into their work sometimes

😂😂😂 Okay, so, responding to your tags — Snufkin would be kinda jealous, but not in an obvious way?
Like I like to write Snufkin as the type who would internally feel jealous (I.e. if he sees Moomin getting along with someone else better than they get along, then his chest feels tight, it’s a bit harder to smile, he doesn’t want to watch it, he starts to think about other things to distract himself), but outwardly nothing changes. Like he doesn’t avoid Moomin, doesn’t ignore him, doesn’t act upset. Because he still wants to have a good relationship with Moomin; he values that relationship highly.
So in Snettles, he would feel jealous if Snettles was a separate merman 😂 but since it’s just him as a merman. He finds it hilarious XD
i know the whole trope of haha character a and b are dating and character a thinks character c is hot, character b is jealous yes great wonderful HOWEVER
i think snufkin would just. laugh at moomintroll 💀 like he wouldnt be jealous hed just. make fun of him
