~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Their love story was like no other.
To find someone and experience this type of love at such a young age was rare.
It is the type of love written in pages of a book. Seen on screens in theaters.
How luck they were to be able and share it together.
The First Hello
3 AM.
That’s what (Y/n’s) clock read.
It was the loud sounds from outside her dorm window that had the young girl up at this hour.
Getting up from her bed, the sleep still in her eyes. She glanced out her window to see two spindly red headed figures outside.
Anger surged through the girl.
Fuming, she threw on her shoes and coat, making her way outside.
The Weasley twins were well know for their pranks and jokes during their years at Hogwarts.
(Y/n) however, never really talked to either of them. Sure they were in the same house, but conversation let alone an introduction never came up.
That is until today.
Noticing a small figure walking towards their spot on the grass, George slapped his twins shoulder pointing in the direction of (Y/n) making her way quickly towards them.
“I swear, if you set off one more firework. I will fight you”, annoyance laced her words as she spoke.
Standing in silence for a moment, the twins weren’t sure how to respond.
“Hi, I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Fred and this is George”,
“Hi”, the other ginger said with a small wave.
Crossing her arms at their dim witted attempt to change the subject. Nevertheless, her upset appearance didn’t falter.
“(Y/n) (L/n). Now, can you stop setting fireworks off and oh I don’t know, let people sleep in peace?”.
Fred couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the girl who stood before him was.
His twin didn’t fail to notice the awestruck expression his brother wore in the presence of the girl.
“Right, sorry about that. Truly we thought they wouldn’t be that loud. Promise it won’t happen again”, George spoke up.
“Thank you”, she said softening her face and giving the pair a slight nod. Having said what she needed she turned around and headed for the bed that called her name.
Snapping out of the trance her beauty had over him, Fred finally noticed her starting to walk away from where he and his brother stood.
“Be right back Georgie”, he said, sprinting in the direction of where she was.
“(Y/n)! Wait”.
Turning around, she looked at the tall boy before her. Finally seeing what every girl in her grade said about how Fred Weasley was one of the cutest boys in the school.
“Yes?”.
“Can I make it up to you? You know, the whole waking you up with the fireworks and all”, he nervously asked her. Scratching the back of his neck. A habit he’s tried to shake many times before.
“Oh, um you don’t hav-”,
“I want to”, cutting her off before she could refuse his offer, “..How about I take you on a date?”, he said blushing. He’d never been this forward with a girl before, but there was something so captivating about her that he couldn’t help it.
“Fred I barley know you”, she said with a chuckle. The slight breeze of the wind picking up, urging the girl to cross her arms in attempt to keep the little bit of warmth she brought with her.
“Give me the chance to change that”, the boy spoke as he started taking his jacket off and wrapping it around the girls shoulder.
How had she never realized how chivalrous the boy was? Thinking it over for a second. What kind of fool would she be if she said no.
“Alright”, smiling at the boy now and wrapping his sweater around her tighter, “You can pick me up at noon after I’ve taken my potions exam”
“Ok, sounds gre- Wait, today?”.
“Well, we’re not getting any younger are we Weasley?”, she quipped at the boy before making her way back to her dorm to finally get some sleep.
Watching her walk away, Fred failed to hear George walk up next to him.
“Thanks for the help cleaning up mate”, he said, slapping the back of Freds head passing him and making way towards the school.
Usually Fred would have gotten his brother back, but right now he didn’t care.
He had a date with (Y/n) (L/n).
And so their love story began,
The First Date
“Fred where are we going?”, (Y/n) said giggling, hands held out in hopes she wouldn’t bump into anything.
“Merlin woman it’s a surprise!”.
His hands placed over her eyes, guiding her to the date he’d been setting up all day.
It had been the warmest day in awhile. Fred originally planned to take (Y/n) to Hogsmeade, however, the weather was too nice to pass his new idea up.
“Ok we’re here”.
Moving his hands away from her eyes, watching her reaction as she took in the scene before her.
“Oh Freddie, it’s perfect! You did all this for me?”.
In front of her, a blanket laid near the beech tree in front of one of the banks of the black lake. A picnic for the two spread out on it.
“Of course”, he said grabbing her hand leading her down towards the food and sweet treats that awaited them, “I’d to anything and more for you”.
Smiling at the boy, she reached up grabbing his face and kissing his cheek lightly.
“You’re amazing Fred Weasley. Did you know that?”.
Taking their seats on the ground. Soaking in the nice weather and enjoying the company of one another.
“So I’ve been told”, winking at the girl while tossing a piece of food in his mouth.
After the food, the pair spent the rest of the day outside. Talking about everything and anything. Losing track of time in each other’s presence. The sun above them setting, the sky slowly becoming littered with stars.
Turning to the girl, mesmerized by her beauty. A smile found its way onto his face.
“You look absolutely beautiful in the moon light”.
Blushing, the girl turned to meet the gaze of the boy before her.
“So do you”.
The First Kiss
“...and then Hermione was telling me that muggles have these building full of art. Imagine how beautiful that must be Freddie! We have to go one day! She even gave me a few books on pieces from famous muggle artists. Strange how something with no magic can make me feel as if that’s all it contains. I guess that’s the beauty of art. She also tol-“
Just like that, Fred crashed his lips onto hers without warning. He couldn’t help it.
Shock overtook the girl.
However, it didn’t take long for (Y/n) to soon fall into the kiss as well. Her eyes shutting. Blocking out any distraction and focusing only on his lips connecting to hers.
It was as if he was the breath of air she didn’t realize she needed.
Throwing her arms around him. Feeling desperate to be closer to the boy.
It was only when they needed to catch their breath that the broke apart.
Unable to open her eyes for a moment, Fred sat there and admired her. Resting his head against hers.
Taking in all her beauty.
It was as if the stars in the sky fell down to create her.
Brushing a piece of her hair behind her ear Fred found himself smiling. Knowing that out of all the people she could choose to love. She chose him. How lucky he was.
Finally opening her eyes to meet his, seeing the love and adoration in his eyes. She knew she must have done something extraordinary in her past life to deserve him in this one.
“I’ve wanted to do that for awhile now”, he said.
Inching their faces closer together, (Y/n) took his face in her hand. Thumb lightly brushing against his cheek.
Lips ghosting over his, close but not enough to touch.
She glanced down at them, to his eyes, then back to his lips.
“What took you so long”, she whispered before kissing him for the second time, a feeling she could most definitely get used to.
The First “I Love You”
“Come on Freddie! It hasn’t happened in years and you really wanna stay in instead of watching something spectacular happen!? Plus, it will be romantic”, the girl spoke. Moving her eyebrows up and down in a joking matter.
“(Y/n) it’s supposed to rain tonight”, the boy said with a small laugh, “..We won’t even be able to see it, love”.
In his dorm room, (Y/n) sat straddling Fred’s lap. Not with the intention of anything sexual. Simply relishing in the comfort that came with being so close to him.
His arms sat on her thighs, subconsciously tracing patterns with his fingers against the skin that wasn’t covered by her school skirt.
“Freddie in astronomy we were told there might be a chance of rain. It’s not a definite that it will! Please my love?”.
Giving her best puppy dog eyes, Fred finally caved.
“Fine, we can go watch the meteor shower if it means that much to you”, sighing out in defeat.
Reaching forward and grabbing his face, the girl began to pepper kiss him. From his cheeks, his forehead, nose, to his lips. Muttering ‘thank you’s’ between each peck placed on his face.
So now there they were, the only ones interested enough to stand outside in the courtyard waiting for the show to begin.
(Y/n’s) eyes focused on the night sky, while Fred’s focused only on her.
Just like he said, rain started pouring down.
Reaching her hands up, the girl looked toward her boyfriend with a small smile placed on her face.
“Ok, I think it time to go back inside darling”, the boy said.
Both of them getting soaked the longer they stood outside.
“No wait!”, reaching to stop the boy from moving, “..Give it a second. It’ll clear up”.
The rain falling even harder now. Causing the girl to laugh.
Her hands held towards the sky, as if she could grab the water falling on her.
In that moment, he realized he loved her.
More than he ever thought possible.
She was his world and so much more.
Seeing her right now, in the rain.
Clothes soaked, laughing and enjoying the sudden change in weather, he knew he was in love with her.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”, (Y/n) asked quietly turning towards his gaze. Walking closer to him, she wrapped her arms around his figure. Peering up towards his face. Water droplets running down her face as she spoke.
His arms wrapping around her out of reflex, “I am so bloody in love with you (Y/n) (L/n)”, he spoke.
Mesmerized by her beauty in that moment.
Eyes scanning her face, waiting for a reaction to his words.
The girl quickly brought his face down to hers. Kissing him with everything in her.
“I am madly and entirely, in love with you too Fredrick Weasley”, she said after pulling away from the kiss. Foreheads pressed together. The both of them marking this moment as one of their favorites.
Looking up and realizing the rain wasn’t stopping anytime soon, Fred grabbed (Y/n’s) hand interlacing their fingers. Rushing back towards the doors, eager to get into the dry building.
Not all relationships are perfect. With the happiness comes pain. Every relationship has its fair share of ups and downs.
Theirs was no exception.
The First Fight
“Did it ever occur to you that this decision affected me too?”.
They had been arguing for the past hour.
“(Y/n) it’s really not a big deal. I don’t understand what you’re on about. The aging potion didn’t even work”.
“You’re joking right? Fred, people have died in this tournament! You do know that don’t you”. It was more a statement than a question.
“Of course I know that!”.
“THEN WHY WOULD YOU RISK IT?”.
The girl was fuming at this point. Angry at the fact that he was so willing to put his name in the goblet of fire. Willing to risk everything. His family, his life. Her. All for money and “eternal glory”.
“You’re being ridiculous”, the boy said sitting down on his bed.
Pacing back and forth, (Y/n) tried to keep the tears from falling. The thought of the risk he took sinking in deeper now.
“I can’t even look at you right now”, the girl scoffed, “..You know what Fred, I hope it was worth it”.
Grabbing her stuff from the floor and making her way for the door, ready to leave the heated environment.
“So what? Are you breaking up with me? Over some stupid tournament that I failed to enter in, might I add? You’re just going to throw all this away? Throw us away?”.
Stopping in her spot, (Y/n) turned to face him. The anger in her face, now replaced by pain.
“Don’t you get it Fred? I LOVE YOU! That’s why I’m upset. I can’t bare the thought of losing you”, pausing for a second. Thinking how she was to put into word what she felt, “..I know that we’re young and we have yet to live our lives. How can you sit here though as if you putting yours on the line doesn’t matter? What happened to our dreams of having a big family, of one day getting married. We’re supposed to do it TOGETHER!..Does our relationship mean so little that you wouldn’t even think to ask me my opinion on the matter? Did you ever think how it would effect your mum? Ginny, Ron? Everyone who cares about you?”, silence overtook the room. She had silently hoped he would know where she was coming from. Yet, he just sat there. Looking at her, not muttering a word. The girl turned back to the door, “...I’ll see you later Fred”.
Just like that, she was gone.
Honestly, Fred hadn’t thought of the dangers of entering. Figuring if it worked, what were the chances he would get called? He didn’t take the second to see all that would be put on the line. He and George had been so caught up in the idea that if one of them got called and did win, they would finally have the money to open their shop. In that moment he knew how much he messed up. How stupid it was for him to not talk with (Y/n). Merlin, how stupid it was to enter the tournament in the first place.
The reality of her absence started to set in. His heart felt emptier than it did moments ago.
This wasn’t their first fight. Of course they have had arguments before, nothing quite this big however.
It had been a few hours since (Y/n) left his dormitory.
Glancing at the clock, the girl headed towards the great hall to get food. Although she had lost her appetite, she knew she had to eat otherwise she’d regret it later. Sitting down at the long Gryffindor table, the girl didn’t even notice Fred come and sit beside her. To busy playing with the food on her plate. The stressful thoughts of where her relationship stood clouding her mind. Until a voice broke her out of her trance.
“(Y/n/n), can we talk please?”.
Dropping her fork, the girl rotated her body to face him. Gently raising her brows as a way to say “go on”.
Fred took notice of the red in her eyes, heart aching knowing he was the cause of it.
“Can we talk somewhere else?”.
Huffing out a sigh, the girl stood up from her place at the table, looking down at Fred and motioned him to walk with her. Eventually finding a empty hall, they took a seat on the bench against one of the stone walls. The environment with the two went from normal to awkward. Both sitting further away from each other than usual. Unsure of what would happen at the end of this discussion.
“I’m sorry,” Fred spoke up with a shaky voice. The nerves taking over at the thought she might break up with him at any moment.
“...I should have talked to you about the tournament. I was just so caught up in the idea of the money that I didn’t think about how it would affect everyone. I never want you to think that I would ever want to jeopardize our life together (Y/n)”, he reached for her hand, happy that when he took it she didn’t pull it away. “...It was dumb of me to put that on the line. The thought of not being able to experience our kids running around the front yard while we sit on the porch watching them grow and knowing how good we have it scares me. The thought of me not getting to see George, Bill, Charlie, my whole family in fact.. happy with their lives, scares me. I promise you, I’ll never purposefully without good reason put myself in a position to risk that again. I understand if you don’t want to be with me after this”. Finally looking down from her eyes as his heart broke a little mentioning the possibility of the end of their relationship.
Closing her eyes, a tear slid down her cheek. She reached her hand under his chin, gently moving his head to look him in the eyes when she spoke.
“Fred I don’t want to break up. You are the love of my life. Everything I want in life, I want with you. That’s why it hurt me so bad. I never want to be the one to get in the way of your dreams. I know you wanted the money for the joke shop. I just wish you would have come to me and discussed it before you tried to enter. I mean, I only found out because Hermione told me you were in the hospital wing due to the backfire from the aging potion. You didn’t even tell me you were going to enter. My own boyfriend didn’t tell me himself. So yeah, it hurt me”, pausing to wipe away the tear that escaped her boyfriends eyes, ”..Communication and compromise is necessary in every relationship Freddie. Had you told me you wanted to enter, of course I’d call you crazy and say no, but I would have known you were going to try anyways because that’s the kind of person you are. We need to start getting better at talking to each other or else we’ll start to pull away from one another. I don’t want that, you’re my person Fredrick Gideon Weasley. I’m not gonna lose you.”
More tears pooled in the girls eyes. Noticing the same thing was happening to Fred. The anger in her dissipated. Hurt lingering a little longer in her, though with time she’d get past it. Together they would grow from this.
Wiping his tears away, the girl pulled his body in for a hug. Their body’s curving into one another. Fitting together like puzzle pieces.
“Are we okay then?”, the boy asked.
“We will be”.
Pulling back, the boy placed his hands on the side of her face, pulling her forward to gently place a kiss to her forehead.
“Stay with me tonight please (Y/n/n)? I need you with me right now. The thought of losing you broke me.”
“Of course Freddie”, she quietly said with a smile. “...I love you”.
“I love you too”.
The both of them knew this wasn’t going to be their only fight. They also knew, their love for one another would always be there at the end of the day.
The First Step Towards the Future
“It just gonna be weird is all”, said George.
“George, I’m only moving out of the flat mate”.
“I know”, George looked around his brother at the empty half of the room. Offering to take the last box down to set with the rest of his brother belongings.
Passing George in the hall, (Y/n) walked into the room. Wrapping her arms around her boyfriends long torso from behind. Placing the side of her head on his back and hugging him.
She gladly took in his scent and the comfort that came with. Glancing over his shoulder, he placed his hand atop of hers that rested on the lower half of his stomach.
“Hi my love”, he said speaking in a soft whisper.
“Hi Freddie”.
Turning his head back around, the boy looked at the room. Reminiscing in the memories that were created there.
“You going to miss it?”, the girl spoke up. Removing her hands to stand in front of her boy and hug him from his front this time.
“I am. I’m ready to make new memories with you though”, raising his hands to brush her hair behind her ears, “..It’s gonna be weird not living with George for once though. Reckon I’ll even miss his snoring”, the ginger headed boy laughed.
Rolling her eyes with a smile, she couldn’t help but let out a little laugh.
“Well, he’s welcome over anytime. I’d lose my mind not seeing one of my best friends as often as I normally do visiting you in the flat and all”.
“Don’t tell him that. He’ll be over all the time and then I’d get no alone time with my best girl”.
Looking up into the boys eyes, it would be hard to miss the warmth held in them.
They both were ready for this next step. For Merlins sake, they’d only been thinking about the rest of their lives together since that night in the rain.
Interlacing their fingers, (Y/n) started towards the door.
“Ready Freddie?”.
“Ready”.
He knew he wanted to marry her.
When he thought of his life and the person he grew old with, she was the only person he could see.
When he realized just how in love with her he was, now Fred Weasley wasn’t sure of a lot of things. With (Y/n) however, he knew he had done something right.
The proposal wasn’t some grand gesture with fireworks and a fancy dinner with his family all watching. He loved them dearly, but that just doesn’t seem like a “Fred Weasley” thing to do. He wanted it to feel right, just the two of them. He knew that when the right moment came, he’d be ready to ask her.
First, the Proposal
He could never get enough of her, truly.
There she laid with the sheets covering her lower half. Her stomach pressed against the mattress as her hair barley covered her bare back that was on display. Her clothes discarded somewhere from last nights events.
Fred silently admired how in the mornings even with her hair all over the place. She never failed to make him fall in love even more.
Growing bored of being the only one up, he moved closer to (Y/n). Pushing her hair to the side completely and began to press soft kisses to her shoulder in hopes she would wake up.
It took only a few seconds for her to stir in her sleep, becoming half aware of the affection she was receiving as her eyes opened; slowly adjusting to the light that poured through the window.
“That tickles”, she said in a soft voice.
Smiling while mid kiss on her skin, Fred let out a small laugh. Deciding to pull her closer to his body and nuzzle his face into the back of her neck. Enjoying the warmth that her body radiated.
“Good morning my love”.
“Good morning”.
(Y/n) was fully awake now. Turning to her boyfriend, a smile found its way to her face at the sight in front of her. Fred’s ginger hair all over the place. She took notice of the small bruises starting to form on his neck. Remembering how just hours ago she had placed them there.
“Have you been up long?”, she asked. Reaching her hand out to tuck his grown out hair behind his ear.
Pulling her closer, if possible. He simply shook his head no.
They both fell into a silent environment. Just looking at one another. Until Fred spoke up.
“You’re so beautiful”.
“Thank you lovey. You’re not to bad yourself”, she smiled. Reaching forward to peck his lips a few times.
“So Freddie, what shall we do today?”, (Y/n) said as she got up, looking around the room for one of his shirts and grabbing underwear while waiting for his response.
All she heard from him was a groan. Turning her head, she looked over to see him face down in the mattress.
“Come back, I just wanna stay in this bed with you all day”.
“Ah, I like the way you think Fred Weasley”, she gave him a wink. Jumping back on the bed, he didn’t hesitate to pull her into him once again. She laid her head on his chest. Looking up at him. Content with both the position and company.
To him, she looked so ethereal. How lucky of him that he got to wake up and go to sleep next to her everyday.
Then he knew.
He knew that he couldn’t spend another morning, evening, Merlin! even a second where she wasn’t officially his forever.
He knew in that moment he was ready to ask her.
“Marry me?”, he lightly whispered down towards her, gently brushing his thumb against her bottom lip before tilting her head up towards him.
The question took her breath away. Looking up at him now, wondering if he was serious or not. Only seeing all the love he held for her in his eyes.
She was ready. She has been ready.
“Yes”, the widest grin on her face.
Turning to the bedside table, Fred pulled out the velvet box that he’s had for months. Taking the ring out and gently grabbing her left hand to place it on her ring finger. Admiring how fitting it was. How somehow he got the privilege to be the one who put it there.
Looking at her hand, she was in awe at the simple ring. How someone so perfect such as him, could make her feel the way she felt whenever he was near. She never dreamt of a big proposal or anything of the sorts. All she wanted was her and Fred. No matter the place or time. She knew what her answer would be.
Pulling her in for a kiss, (Y/n) couldn’t help but smile into it.
“I know its not much”,
“It’s perfect”, she said raising her hand to admire it.
“Mrs. (Y/n) Weasley. Has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?”.
With that he pulled her back in for another kiss. Pulling the bedsheets over the two. The both of them not leaving the bed that day. Just as they planned.
Then the Vows
Suddenly, music filled the air where conversations were just being held.
Slowly, (Y/n) made her way to the person she couldn’t imagine her life with out.
Watching all the guests stand as she made her way down the isle.
Breathing, taking it one step at a time.
The sight of her in her white gown left Fred breathless.
He couldn’t help the tears that started to form in his eyes.
Taking in all the beauty and oh how he couldn’t seem to look away.
The both of them smiling wider than before with each step to get them closer together.
Finally reaching where he stood waiting, Fred raised his hands to lift (Y/n’s) veil, folding it back gently behind her head.
“May everyone take their seats”, Arther said.
He had given the long speech about love and marriage that anyone gives when officiating a wedding.
“Now, both Fred and (Y/n) have prepared their own vows to each other”, looking at the pair before him and turning towards his son, “…Fred you will go first”.
Taking a deep breath and grabbing both her hands in his,taking note of how perfect they fit together.
“(Y/n), I tell you this everyday and will continue telling you this for as long as you allow me. You my darling, are the love of my life. You’re my best friend, lover, inspiration, my world. You make me a better person. Not only have you made everyday of my life better since you entered it, but you make me better. I promise to love you unconditionally through thick and thin. To overcome any obstacle we face. I promise to tell you I love you every single day for the rest of out lives, which by my calculations should be 36,500 more times if we live around 130 years old”, he said with a small laugh, their guests long forgotten. Their focus only on each other, “…You truly are my dream come true, my love. That night we met, I knew I was meant to spend my life with you. I love you so much. I am yours completely til I take my last breath. It’s me and you for all eternity”.
Finishing up, Fred reached his hands up wiping away her tears.
Taking a moment to themselves, (Y/n) rest her cheek into the palm of his hand.
Arther Weasleys voice had then broken the silence, “(Y/n) my dear, whenever you’re ready”.
Slightly nodding, glancing down at their hands joined together once again before landing her attention back toward the love of her life.
“As a young girl, I was always told to stay as young as I could for as long as I could. I always thought it true until I met you Fred Weasley. The thought of growing older with you completes me. Meeting you, I knew that my home no longer consists of a place, but rather a person. You are the equal my mind, soul, and heart have been searching for my entire life. I promise to continue loving you unconditionally without hesitation. To always accept you as you are, as you do me. I will always put you and our future first and give you my absolute best for as long as we shall live. Words can’t express the joy you have brought to my life. Looking into your eyes, I see our future. The love you have never failed to show me. Forever and always my Freddie. It’s me and you for all eternity.”
Their attention being torn from one another as the guest sat in the chairs let out a chorus of “awes”.
“Beautifully said you two, Ginny? The rings please?”, Arther said towards his daughter.
As quickly as they could, the couple slid the bands onto each others fingers.
“You may now kiss your bride”.
Fred didn’t wait one more second, grabbing his wife and dipping her in his arms. Planting a sweet kiss that held all the love for her on her lips. The guest loudly clapping and cheering at the union.
The rest of the night was spent in celebration of the beautiful couple. Both their families looking at them, glad they’d found their way to each other.
The First Goodbye
The war had ended.
Harry had finally beat Voldemort.
That was weeks ago.
As the Wizarding world still celebrated, (Y/n) stood frozen.
Staring down at his grave.
“Hi Freddie”, the girl spoke as she put her hands in her pocket.
“We won. Harry did it”.
Taking a seat on the ground, she leaned her back against Fred’s tombstone.
“I know I say that every time I come to visit, but if I don’t remind myself of the good that came from this. I’ll fall apart over what happened to you, and I’m scared there’s no coming back from that”.
Looking down at her lap, tears ran down the girls cheek.
“I paid a visit to your mum this morning. She seems to be doing better than me. I doubt that’s true though”.
Looking back up, the girl finally let go of the emotions she’d been holding onto.
“I’m not fine”, she said with a crack in her voice.
“I know I said I was the last time I was here. I’m not fine Fred”.
Water beginning to collect in the girls eyes, her tears finally falling as she spoke.
“I miss you so much. It’s like I can’t breathe”.
Taking short breaths, (Y/n) rest her head in her hands. Feeling the cold metal of the ring against her head that still sat on her finger since the day he placed it there.
“You were supposed to come home with me Freddie after we won. We were supposed to raise children together”, gasping for air between her sobs. (Y/n) had to pause between her sentences. Finding it difficult to finally say out loud how she was feeling.
“You were meant to teach them pranks with George,” letting out a small laugh at the thought, “…Then we would have gotten letters from Hogwarts about them saying all the things Professor McGonagall said in the ones to your mum and father about you”, (Y/n) said, her voice wavering.
The walls she put up finally breaking down, she was angry.
Angry that he was taken away from her before she had got a to say goodbye.
Angry that she couldn’t touch him, talk to him, or see him again.
“You taught me how to live with you, please Freddie”,
“…tell me how I’m supposed to live without you”.
Trying to catch her breath, she began to feel the same weight pressed against her chest just as she did that night in the castle seeing him laying there on the cold concrete floor.
His body lifeless. Making her wish for the first time in her life that something bad would happen to her, just so she could be with him.
“I’m so scared that I’m going to forget. That the memories of our last laughs, kisses, our last everything’s are going to slip from my memory completely one day”.
She had sat in silence for awhile taking notice of the sun beginning to set behind the trees.
Taking the pink and orange hues in the sky as a sign to say goodbye and make her way back home.
Wiping her tear stained cheeks, “I’m sorry I was a complete mess during our visit today, my love. I promise to make it up to you next time”.
Rising from her place on the ground, she took her hand to her lips placing a kiss on her cold fingers before pressing them against the letters of his name on the stone slab.
Silently walking away, counting down the seconds till her next visit.
(Y/n) lived her days as best as she could.
She knew he wouldn’t want her to mourn forever.
But, how can one move on from losing the love of their life?
She lead a life full of magic and love for her family.
Never dating after him, ignoring his voice in the back of her head telling her it was ok if she tried.
She was content being the fun aunt to her family’s children.
Telling them the story of her and Fred’s love every time they asked, even though they had heard the story thousands of times before.
Sure she always wanted kids, but she only wanted them with him. The thought of having anything with someone else other than him felt like betrayal. Even though she knew he would never see it that way, she didn’t have the heart to try otherwise.
One day, in her summer home, knowing her age was stating to take a toll on her health; she reminisced the events in her life that got her here. The people who loved and cared for her, the memories made in and out of Hogwarts, the war, what she lost along with it as well as the strength she gained after it was over.
Finally, at an old age, she had passed peacefully in her sleep.
Finally, Forever
Slowly opening her eyes, it took (Y/n) a moment to adjust to the bright light.
Confused as to where she was, taking a second to observe her surroundings.
Hogwarts.
“How did I get here?”, the girl spoke aloud to herself.
Walking down the hall, she glanced at her reflection in one of the many windows place along the concrete wall.
Shocked at what she saw, a small gasp slipped past her lips.
Slowly, she raised her hand to her face.
She was no longer the old woman she once was. Instead, stood staring back at her, she found her young self once more.
Suddenly the girls eyes no longer focused on herself, but a figures legs with the rest of their body being hidden by the tree that sat out near the black lakes shoreline.
Leaving her place in the hall and making her way outside, the girl shouted towards the figure as she grew closer.
“Excuse me! ..Do you happen to know where everyone is?”, the young girl said as she turned towards and pointing at the school before her eyes fell back where the person sat.
“Are we the only ones here? I didn’t see anyon-“,
The air had left her lungs as soon as the tall figure stood up from his spot on the grass, finally coming into view.
He was so beautiful.
Nothing about him had change.
A wide smile appeared on the boys face,
“My love, it’s been too long. I’ve missed you”, he said as he extended his arm for her to grab.
Still confused, the girl slowly reached for his hand.
Just as they touched, a gasp could be heard accompanied by a single tear rolling down (Y/n’s) face.
It wasn’t a dream.
“How can I feel you?”.
“It’s our time, my dear”, he spoke with a gentle voice.
Looking in his eyes, she felt at peace.
Reaching for her face, the boy brought her closer, planting a kiss to her forehead.
Instantly, she wrapped her arms around his long torso because Merlin, he’s here, and in her arms and she never wants to let him go again.
“I love you (Y/n) Weasley”.
“I love you so much more Fredrick Weasley”.
Looking into his eyes with a smile, she was home.
Love everlasting.
Not many people get the chance they got.
Not one moment taken for granted.
Love, in it’s truest form.
The End.
Jealousy, Jealousy
Pairing: Fred x Reader
Warning: None, other than this being rushed aha and not edited very well.
A/N: This isn’t the long fic I’ve been working on, that’s still happening though! I just felt bad about not writing for awhile and then this idea hit me. Not so sure how I feel about it, but oh well. I hope some of you enjoy it lol and now just to finish the long one 🤦🏻‍♀️
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Orange and red hues decorated the grounds outside of the beautiful castle (Y/n) called her second home.
Fall had finally made its return to Hogwarts.
It’s beautiful colors and chilly sweater weather accompanying it.
It’s surprising how fast time can pass by when focusing on the good things life has to offer.
When (Y/n) got her letter, she had no idea what adventures and memories she’d have waiting for her.
The first few years she spent at Hogwarts, she mainly focused on her academics.
Being labeled a “book worm” by those in her house.
It wasn’t meant to be taken in offense. The opposite actually.
She was the go-to study partner not just for her house, but the others as well.
Both a brain and personality everyone who met her couldn’t help but adore.
On the train to the school, she had met a charming Hufflepuff that she would later call her best friend.
Cedric Diggory.
He was the first welcoming face she was met with.
Both sharing a compartment which led him to telling her she had nothing to worry about and how nerves were normal. Speaking with experience being in her place just a couple years prior.
Saying, and I quote, “The sorting hat will do its part and put you where you belong, its up to you with the rest”. For the first time since stepping foot on the train, the girl felt at ease about entering a world she knew little about being muggle born and all.
It would be a lie to say the girl wasn’t a little bummed not ending up in the same house as Cedric.
The sorting hat shouted Gryffindor and (Y/n) knew as soon as she sat at the long table along with her new “family”, she was exactly where she was meant to be.
Nevertheless, her and Cedric remained good friends.
Which is exactly why you could find the young Gryffindor and Hufflepuff sat in a back booth at the Three Broomsticks during one of their first fall trips to Hogsmeade.
“So how have you been (Y/n)?”.
“I’ve been well Ced, a little stressed about my paper Snape assigned, but all in all I’ve been alright. What about you? Any progress on your crush on Cho?”, the girl spoke wiggling her eyebrows with a sly grin placed across her face.
“(Y/n) (L/n)! You’re one to talk, might I recall you have you’re eyes set on a certain ginger headed twin. Goes by the name…what was it again? Oh yeah! Fred Weasley?”.
“Make all the snarky remarks you want Diggory. Mine and Freds relationship seems to be going smoothly. If that’s how you want to describe it”, lowering her voice a tad as she said the last sentence. The girl glanced down at her hands placed on the table. A sorrow expression beginning to take over.
“(Y/n)?”, the boy questioned at her sudden change of expression.
“Can I ask you something Ced?”
“Anything”, he said reaching for her hand to give her some sort of comfort.
“Do you think I would be a good girlfriend?”
“He still hasn’t asked, has he?”
“…no he hasn’t. I mean, is their something wrong with me? I feel like we are dating but every time I want to bring up the possibility of being more than whatever we are…”
“The fear sets in”, the boy says cutting her off.
“I know you. Believe me when I tell you there is nothing wrong with you. Give him time. Fred’s not really a player despite the rumors that float around the school”, he said to the girl with a reassuring smile.
Unknown to the girl and her Hufflepuff friend, the tall older Weasley twin had walked through the door along with his other half and their best friend Lee. Glancing around, only to find his eyes settling on where Cedrics hand sat gently on top of (Y/n’s).
Taken back at the sight, anger began to boil in the boys stomach.
His feet moving faster than his brain, he was just about to make his way over to their shared booth only to be stopped by his brother.
“Where are you going?”, before needing a answer, George looked up in the direction his brother was headed to find (Y/n) sat in a booth with Cedric Diggory.
“Hold on a sec there mate. What exactly is your plan hm? Walk over there and tell Cedric and (Y/n) off? For what? You aren’t together officially, and if your plan is to tell them off you risk never getting the chance to ever be official.”
Huffing in annoyance, Freds anger slowly started to calm down and dissipate.
“You’re right, but just this once”.
“I am always right my dear brother”, George said with a light chuckle patting his twin on the back.
Just as he was about to give a snarky remark to his brother, the most angelic laugh could be heard from his spot near the door making his head turn.
Her laugh.
Her laugh, and not at something he had said.
Looking back in his brothers direction, he handed him the bag he had been carrying from Zonkos.
Confused as to what was happening,
“I’m just gonna go talk to them”, was all Fred said before making his way towards (Y/n’s) booth.
Walking faster the second time, just in case, not wanting to be stopped again.
Reaching the table, both Cedric and (Y/n) looked up at the tall ginger.
“Oh wow, I didn’t know you had plans to come here with Diggory. I might as well join you now that I’m here”, Fred said sliding in the booth right next to the girl. Reaching his arm behind her, letting it gently hang from her left shoulder.
“Oh okay, yeah that’s fine”, the girl said taken slightly by surprise at Fred’s actions.
“Yeah, the more the merrier right?”, Cedric said with a forced laugh, not entirely sure what was happening.
“So, what are we talking about?”
“Well, Ced was just telling me about how his herbology class has been going”, (Y/n) said smiling up at Fred.
“Is that right, Ced?”.
The name rolling off his tongue with what could only be described as annoyance.
“Yeah ha, um I’ve got to use the restroom. If you’ll please excuse me”, the Hufflepuff said. Wanting to get out of that booth and away from the daggers being shot at him by Fred’s eyes as soon as he could.
Fred scoffed at Cedrics exit, turning back around only to find (Y/n) staring up at him with furrowed brows.
“What?”
“Are you alright Freddie?”, she spoke pressing the back of her hand to his forehead, joking as if to check for a rise in temperature.
“I’m fine love, what makes you ask that?”, removing her hand and grabbing the one sat in his lap.
Looking down at their joined hands and playing with her fingers, hoping to hide the slight flush in his face that appeared at her question.
Then it hit her. He was jealous.
Fred Weasley was jealous she was sat with another boy.
“Well, from where in sitting it kind of looks as if you’re jealous”.
Trying to keep his composure, the boy tried to brush off the accusation.
“Jealous? Me? No”.
“Merlin! You are jealous aren’t you!”, laughing a little. Not out of embarrassment for him but rather herself. That not but a few moments go, she was concerned his feeling for her weren’t as deep as hers for him.
“Alright, yes I’m jealous. How’d you expect me to react seeing my girlfriend sitting alone in a booth with the only guy I’d ever admit might be slightly more handsome than me? Hhm?”.
Wait, did she just hear him right?
“Did you just say girlfriend?”
“W-well, y-yeah, I mean, if you want to be called that. Which I hope you do. I had been planning on asking you. You see back in school I thought about writing you a poem, but then I got too embarrassed and never did. So, its up to yo-“, before he could finish his sentence. The girl closed the space be ween them.
Planting her lips on his. The both of them melting into one another all at once.
They’d kissed plenty of times before sure, but this one.
This one was different.
“I would love to be your girlfriend Fred Weasley”, her voice barley above a whisper. The widest smile written across her face.
With their foreheads resting against one another, the boy spoke up, dreading to finally break the comforting silence they had found themselves in.
“If you weren’t here with Diggory right now, I’d suggest we share a butterbeer, just us”.
Looking past the boys shoulder, remembering who she had come with, confused as to what was taking Cedric so long in the bathroom; her eyes were met with her friend in the corner laugh and something Cho had said.
“I wouldn’t count on him coming back”.
Turing towards the other side of the room, Fred’s eyes grew wide.
“Cedric’s got a thing for Cho Chang?!”
Laughing at his obliviousness,
“You’re so adorable”, the girl spoke sharing a smile with Fred.
Love being the only thing seen in their eyes towards each other.
They both shared their butterbeer as the sun set.
Siting in the back booth talking about anything and everything, content on where they now stood.
At least, for the time being.

secrets i have held in my heart - f.w
Tumblr media
Pairing: Fred x Fem!Reader Summary: Everyone in the twins’ lives mix them up once in a while, except for Y/N. Fred is dying to know how.  Warnings: Some angst with a happy ending, yes I wrote oblivious Fred again with miscommunication issues, what about it, some swearing, brief mention of the war but obviously this is a FredLives!AU :D, mentions of sex but nothing descriptive it’s like one line, - everyone is 18+ by the way!  Word Count: 4k
A/N: For the anon who requested super secret mutual pining with some angst where the reader is the only person who can tell the twins apart! Thank you so much for requesting. This has also been cross-posted on AO3 (frederickweasleys) as per the anon’s request!
Also, I didn’t want to write about a 17 and 15 year old pining after each other, so I made everyone older and it’s postwar, however I was like 2000 words into the fic when I remembered George got his mf ear blasted off in DH so…. U do not see that it’s not canon in this fic thank you
———————————-
The sun is blaring down on The Burrow and everyone is starting to wonder the likelihood of getting heatstroke. They’re in the south-west of England and the weather doesn’t usually get above the early 20s in the middle of August, however, mother nature has decided to wreak havoc and today is almost 30°.
Y/N is looking at the pages in her book but she’s not processing anything on the pages. She’s so appreciative of the relaxing life she and all her loved ones finally have. The war ended last year, and while Y/N isn’t family, Molly and Arthur are always insistent she’s welcomed at The Burrow for their Sunday roast dinners.

More Than Just Love
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Reader
Warning: none really it’s just a poorly written piece. I had the idea for it and tried to put it into words. I might redo it sometime but idk yet. So sorry if it’s trash :/
A/n: This isn’t the long one I’ve been working on. I came to a bit of a block with that one..so I wore this in the mean time. I took some lyrics from The song “Yours” by Evann Mclntosh and sort of rearranged them as an inspiration for this. I highly suggest listening to her music.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You promise not to ask anything that will embarrass me?”, she asked giving her boyfriend and his brother a wary look.
“Cross our hearts (y/n)!”.
Veritaserum.
Something she would never guessed she would be taking today.
(Y/n) knew being a volunteer for testing the twins product would come with risks. A truth serum though? Not one of them she was expecting. She thought it would be puking pastilles or nose bleed nuggats. She signed up for it though. If it brought them one step closer to their dreams. To his dream. How could she say no?
“Ok give me the bloody thing”.
Snatching the bottle from George’s hand, the girl took a few drops of the liquid. Her face contorting in disgust at the taste.
“Oh that’s awful!”.
“How are you feeling?”, Fred asked, concern lacing his voice.
“I feel normal. Is it supposed to feel different?”.
“Not unless you try to fight it I believe. Go on, ask her something Fred”.
“Right..um...ok, (y/n) what are your thoughts on Georgie here?”
“Bloody hell Fred...”, Rolling his eyes at his brothers question. Preparing himself for the sassy remark he thought the girl would throw at him.
In no way did (y/n) dislike George, they just hadn’t really had a chance to appreciate their friendship. Both always knowing they would be their for each other. Practically brother and sister.
“Oh that’s easy, he’s one of my best friends. One of the people I could rely on always. Not to mention, he’s one of the only people I know who keeps you happy”, she said toward the boy who held her heart with a small smile.
Fred sat there, staring at her. A smile making its way to his face at the answer. Finding new things to love about her everyday. Quickly pecking her lips in response to her answer.
“How about my dear brother here? Do you really love him (y/n)?”, George asked jokingly. The three of them already knowing the answer.
“Yes”.
Fred was ready to say it back. Before he got the chance however, she spoke up once more.
“...but it’s more than just love”.
Peaking his interest, Fred sat up straighter.
“Oh really? What are these feelings then?”, George continued.
Curiosity took over both George and Fred’s features. Fred knew she loved him of already of course, but what could she mean there’s more?
Looking back towards (y/n), they both waited for her answer.
The girl shifted in her seat to face Fred. Taking his ands in hers. She looked at them and smiled. Thinking about how she could perfectly fit into words how the boy before her truly made her feel.
Looking back up into his eyes now, “Well, you don’t know what you do to me. Walk into a room, and you are all I see. I lose my mind every time you smile”.
Fred sat there, a faint blush appearing on his cheeks. Taking every word of hers in. Subconsciously playing with her fingers as she spoke.
“In my head it’s me and you for all eternity. I wanna give you all my world. It’s like, all these other honeys become worker bees. Forget a lot but I won’t forget anniversaries. You want a held household, financially and steadily. Right now I can’t hold much, for you I'd become Hercules. You took my heart and all my mind that’s a burglary. Went and met your family beauty must be genetic. Write you love letters alphabetic. Currently you stay on my mind must be magnetic. The way you take my breath away I often need a medic. If you should ever leave me put me on anesthetics. Cause that would hurt the worst”.
“George, would you mind giving me and (y/n) a moment please?”.
Not needing to be told twice, George left the room. Leaving the two there to discuss what the girl just confessed to her boyfriend.
“Oh. I said too much didn’t I? Freddie look, I’m sorry if I scared you. I just..George asked me the question and I couldn’t help but tell the truth because of the seru-“, before she could get another word out. Fred crashed his lips onto hers.
Pulling her into his embrace. He wanted to show her that he wasn’t scared at all. That what she felt for him was the same way he felt for her. In the moment, a kiss seemed the best way to show it.
Pulling back slightly, faces inches apart, “You didn’t scare me my love. In fact, I’ve never seen my future more clear than I do right now”.
A Little Holiday Magic (Fred Weasley x Reader fluff)
Tumblr media
A/n: Believe me when I say, I meant to post this on Christmas, but I got tired and a little tipsy - and enjoyed the direction of this little holiday one-shot to make it short! So here is your long-awaited dose of Fred Weasley Holiday fluff!
———
The Burrow was easily the most magical place you’d ever been, and when Fred invited you to spend the holidays there with him, how could you not say yes? Saying yes to dating Fred Weasley was the best thing to ever happen to you - he asked right before he and his brother made their remarkable escape from Umbridge seventh year. He actually told you of their plan the same night he asked you to be his girlfriend - a week before their departure - and you spent that entire week breaking the eight-inch distance rule in his dormitory. He sent you an owl when he and George secured their shop in Diagon Alley. You spent the whole summer after graduation up in that flat - painting, organizing, and perfecting potions, jinxes, and charms for products while falling deeper and deeper in love with Fred. That was two years ago, and now the shop was thriving, the Wizarding World was happy as ever after the defeat of Voldemort, you had a cushy job at the Ministry, and you and Fred were spending the most joyful time of the year with his family in the coziest home you’d ever stepped foot in.
Fred was sitting next to you on the couch while you casted on another row of the jumper Molly was teaching you to knit, his arm draped lovingly around your shoulders while he continued chatting jovially with his older brother Bill about the feasibility of a tongue twisting jinx that he and George were coming up with. Molly’s voice rang from the kitchen, “Y/n, dearie, do you mind helping me with this blasted goose before we get to work on the Christmas cakes?” She asked, her bright hazel eyes - the same ones Fred had inherited - shone toward you from the kitchen. You placed down your needles and trotted over to her side, helping the small woman hoist the large roasting tray into the oven before putting on a spare apron and pulling down ingredients to work on the icings and decorations for Molly’s impeccable Christmas cakes. Fred gave you a quizzical look from across the room - a hint of pride flashing in his eyes as he noticed the way you and his mother joked and laughed with one another - getting on as if you were old friends rather that a mother and her son’s girlfriend.
As you piped Holly berries onto the top of one of the cakes with a few flicks of your wand, Molly whispered to you, “Oh, Frederick, he just can’t stop sneaking a peak at you!” She tisked - almost excitedly - at her son’s behavior, it made a heat rush through your cheeks all the way to the tips of your ears. “I know my boys better than I know myself, and I’ve seen a change in my Freddie since you’ve been with him: he cares more about things - especially his future. And I’ve never seen him so happy about something that wasn’t some codswallop he and George were pulling!” Molly explained, your heart was racing, Since you got together, Fred had been pretty good about sharing his feelings with you - along with his wants and needs - and he had matured quite a bit since opening and running a business with his twin; but the fact that his mother could see the change in him, that she could see a difference between how he’d treated girlfriends in school and you, that was pretty big. “He loves you very much, dearie - it’s a once in a lifetime love for him - and i hope you know that Arthur and I are so grateful for you.” She stopped flicking her own wand in the air, which was dolloping little stars onto the top of a gorgeous cake, and she held your arms in her dainty hands, urging you to face her and look into her eyes - Fred really did inherit the Prewitt eyes. “I’m so happy you came to spent Christmas with us. You’re one of the missing pieces we have always needed - the one that fits perfectly with my Freddie.” Her eyes crinkled in a jolly way at the corners, and you couldn’t help but pull her into a hug. You’d always felt nothing but acceptance and love from the Weasley’s, but to know Fred’s parents considered you a missing piece of their family puzzle, finally found? That was huge. You felt happy tears well in your eyes as you stepped forward and gave her a hug, welcoming the warmth of this woman who had welcomed you to her family, and given the world one the loveliest boy you’d ever met.
Fred watched the happy scene unveiling in the kitchen, his heart panging with joy - he knew his mum approved of you, but witnessing an unprompted embrace when he wasn’t around felt like a big deal. When Molly went to the pantry to fetch something as you finished the cakes, Fred came into the kitchen, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind and pressing a gentle kiss against your cheek. “Gettin’ on with mum, I see.” He murmured in your ear, his breath tickling your sensitive skin and making butterflies flutter in your stomach. “We really are - you know I love Molly.” You said, placing your hands over his, he swayed the two of you together in his embrace. “She really loves you, you know. Asks about you constantly - she’s absolutely beaming over the fact you agreed to spend Christmas here.” Fred laughed, you leaned further against his chest and he put his head on your shoulder, your hand running through his soft cinnamon colored hair. “I love you, y/n, darling.” He sighed against your shoulder, peppering kisses wherever he could find a place - especially places where he knew you were ticklish. You turned around after a moment in his arms, meeting his sparkling hazel eyes and bring ing your hand up to his cheek. “I love you so much, Fred Weasley.” You said softly, guiding his face closer to yours, you could feel him smile as you met his lips to yours, kissing him warmly. He hummed against your lips, his tongue drawing gently against your lower lip in urgency - you obliged and deepened the kiss. Your arms curled around his neck and he pulled you tighter in his arms. “You’ve got a spot of flour.” Fred whispered, “Where?” You replied, and before you could even think, he was smearing white powder onto the tip of your nose. “Right there!” He said with a devilish smirk. “I swear to Merlin, you will pay for that!” You said, the smile on your own face growing out of both annoyance and the sheer audacity of this man being so adorable.
“Well, what kind of fun are we getting up to in here?” Molly asked from behind where the two of you stood in an embrace that was now littered with flour - with a wave of her wand, it swirled neatly into the air and fluttered like a ribbon of white into the dustbin. “Sorry, mum, I was just -“ the wheels in Fred’s head were turning as he tried desperately to make an excuse. “Nevermind - dinner is almost ready, and these cakes are finished: Fred, why don’t you go and collect lot and we will get this Christmas started, shall we?” Molly asked with a knowing little grin - you felt heat rise in your cheeks when you met her eyes. Fred looked at you and bobbed his eyebrows with a scrunch of his freckled nose. “Love you. Save me a seat, yeah?” He whispered, leaning down and pecking a quick kiss to your lips before releasing you and heading up the Burrow’s winding staircase to collect his siblings for Christmas dinner.
At dinner, you sat between Fred and George, who bickered and pestered you throughout the whole meal. And while he was being rather rambunctious above the table, beneath it he was being rather sweet, his hand squeezed your thigh softly whenever Molly or Arthur asked you a question about work, or the flat you and Fred shared with George above the shop. When Molly made a little quip about the possibility of babies on the horizon - after a few too many glasses of elderflower wine - it was your turn to squeeze Fred’s thigh as he nearly choked on the bite of mince pie he was chewing. “Don’t get ahead of yourself, mum. At least let me put the ring on her finger first.” He sputtered quickly not realizing what he said until he’d already said it - and he realized what he said, because his cheeks turned a violent shade of crimson that spread all the way to the tips of his ears. He said the ring, not a ring, THE ring. Did Fred have a ring for you? You were ready - you had been for a long while, the two of you had discussed it a few times before, especially after Bill and Fleur’s wedding. But it could really happen, sooner rather than later. The subject was abruptly changed when Ron began discussing his and Harry’s training to become Aurors, while Hermione explained the function of a muggle computer mouse to Mr. Weasley. You took Fred’s hand in yours and noticed it was a bit clammy to the touch, so you squeezed it softly and leaned against his arm, resting your head briefly on his shoulder. He kissed your hairline gently, and then went back to his meal, now a bit quieter than before.
After dinner, everyone retired to the living room, sharing rousing conversation and eating from trays of beautifully decorated deserts. You shared a corner of the overstuffed couch with Fred, your legs draped over his lap, and his arm around you. His left hand traced the curve of your waist through your jumper and you couldn’t help but imagine a thin gold band on his ring finger - one that signified the tie the two of you shared to one another. There was a tournament of Wizards Chess being played; Charlie and Ginny discussed the recent Quidditch season; and George had gone for another cake, but he had his wand discreetly in his hand, which made you think he was definitely going to be experimenting on something that could be a new product for the shop. You felt blissful and light as Fred’s lips made their way to the shell of your ear. “Meet me up in my room, in your pajamas, at midnight. I want to show you something without everyone around.” He whispered, making excited goose pimples spread on your arms, and a fluttering feeling erupt in your chest. “What about George?” You asked in a hushed tone, meeting Fred’s rather sultry gaze with wide-eyed excitement. “Already handled - don’t worry about anything but being there at midnight.” He said, a soft smile on his plush lips. You leaned in and kissed him warmly, then rested your foreheads together. “Happy Christmas, Freddie.” You whispered. “Happy Christmas, y/n.” He replied, tightening his grip he held on your hip and pulling you closer to his chest.
You continued to work on your knitting, simultaneously chatting and joking with the members of the Weasley family until everyone started to get up and part ways for the night and making order out of who would get to use the bathroom first. Fred got up, leaning down and kissed you “goodnight,” parting with a soft smack before whispering, “Midnight, darling. Don’t forget!” And let out a cheeky little chuckle that you echoed, before pulling him in for another quick kiss. He stood up and your eyes followed him over to the stairs, he turned Ed over his shoulder and gave you a little wink before ascending. His steps stopping at the top of the second landing, where you knew he’d cross the threshold into the room he’d shared with his twin growing up. “What are you two hiding?” Ginny asked, a curious look over her face. “Nothing! I
He’s just - well we’re just happy, is all.” You said with a shrug, your cheeks flushing - an unconscious and telltale sign that you were definitely hiding something. “Well, you may not be hiding something, but I know that look on my brother - he’s scheming and i know it!” She laughed to herself. You looked at your watch, a half-hour to midnight. “I’m going to go up and change, but I may come back down for a bit - no need to wait up for me, Ginny.” You said, skittering upstairs before any further interrogation could convince you to give up your secret. “I’ll be right up behind you.” Ginny said, and after a few moments you heard her footsteps behind you as you headed to her room where you were bunking with Ginny and Hermione. You quickly changed into your pajamas and bid the other two goodnight before trodding back down the stairs toward the first floor. You peered down at your watch again - fifteen minutes to midnight. You were about to cross the threshold into the living room when a familiar laugh stopped you in your tracks, you jumped. “Sorry, Miss y/n, didn’t mean to startle you!” It was George, standing in the kitchen - having just poured himself a glass of pumpkin juice, had his hand on the bottle of Firewhiskey in the cabinet. “Want one? You look a bit nervous.” He asked, raising an eyebrow in your direction as he flashed you a smirk. You rolled your eyes and laughed more out of relief than humor. “Did your brother put you up to this?” You asked, and George chuckled, “You can’t prove or disprove that.” He grabbed another goblet, summoning the pitcher of pumpkin juice from the ice chest and making it pour into the goblet followed by the Firewhiskey, which had also began pouring itself between the two goblets on the counter. “Sorry Fred’s displacing you - however briefly - tonight.” You whispered, your cheeks flushing at the idea of George guessing at anything you and his twin could potentially get up to in his bedroom. You took a sip of liquid courage from your goblet - George really was the potions master of the twins, this pumpkin juice and Firewhiskey concoction tasted remarkably like one of Mrs. Weasley’s holiday pies. “It’s no trouble, now he just owes me one!” George quipped, shooting you a cheeky wink. “He’s waiting for you - oh, and take him this.” George said, handing you an additional goblet, which you must have reacted to with a quizzical expression, “He asked if I’d make him one.” George explained, sending you, rather perplexed toward the stairs and up to the bedroom he and his brother grew up in together.
The clock in the living room struck midnight right as you approached the door - which opened as if it were of its own accord; you really knew that Fred must have bewitched it to open once you stood in front of it on the landing - an effort he’d used in the past to reduce making sounds that could wake anyone else in the house. You stepped through and saw Fred sitting on the edge of his bed, he looked up at you with a gentle, loving smile. You reached out your hand holding the goblet that George had given to you for his brother and he took it eagerly. “Good old Georgie.” Fred muttered to himself, taking a long drink while reaching out to you, his free arm wrapping protectively around your middle and you leaned your hands against his chest. “Hi, y/n.” He said in a calm, steady voice, his tone as charming as ever. “Hi, Freddie.” You whispered, reaching out to brush your hand against his cheek - as you did, he held up his wand and flicked it in the air, muttering an indistinguishable incantation and then the warm glow of a multitude of candles lit up the perimeter of the room, giving it a rather romantic, amber tone. Fred took another sip from his goblet then beamed up at you. “What’s all this, Freddie?” You asked, trying to watch both his expression but also take in the ambiance of the room. “It’s a surprise, y/n.” He explained, his voice so excited, “That you’ll learn of soon enough. Relax, love, settle in.” He said, his grin never faltering as he made a space for you to sit next to him; you situated yourself like you always did, sitting next to him, with your legs kicked up into his lap, his arm draped sweetly over your shoulders.
“I’m so happy you came here for Christmas, y/n. I can’t even begin to explain -“ he said with a slightly sheepish chuckle, he squeezed you further against his chest, you took a lazy sip from your goblet, your whole body filling with warmth, and your stomach fluttering happily with Fred’s touch. “I’m always more than happy to spend the holidays with your family - they’re a rather lovey lot, you know!” You said sincerely. “You would think so, wouldn’t you?” He laughed, pressing a kiss against your forehead and making you laugh. “Mum was absolutely giddy over you helping her in the kitchen today - Fleur’s never done that, reckon if she did mum would have taken a liking to her earlier!” Fred laughed at the thought. “But there’s more to all this than just, to thank you for indulging my mum’s every wish.” He said, gesturing about the room, his beautiful hazel eyes looking upon your face adoringly. “Well, I should hope so - you know spending time with Molly is never anything but a pleasure for me!” You said, “And the last time you told me to meet you in secret, we snogged for the better part of the night, which I wouldn’t dare pass up.” You said, bringing a hand up and running it across his cheek. “Well that’s the thing, if it were just for a quick snog, I’d have just told you to meet in Percy’s room like last time.” He chuckled, leaning into your hand. “I specifically told George to buzz off because i - or more, we need this room tonight.” He said, his usually cheeky expression crossing his face. “And I’m going to tell you exactly why.” He said. He took the goblet from your hands and placed it on the end table along with his own. “Here, lie back, get comfortable.” He instructed, and the two of you leaned back against the pillows on Fred’s bed, his arms wrapped around you, and you faced him as you just held one another for a moment.
“This room is where all the best things in my life have started.” He said, taking in a deep, almost stablizing breath. “It’s where George and I first came up with our pranks, where we perfected the Skiving Snackbox and where we wrote our first Weasleys Wizard Wheezes catalogue.” You could hear his smile in his words, and his heart was racing under your hand. “It’s also where George called me out during the summer holidays after third year - asking me why the hell i started acting like prat every time you came through the portrait hole into the common room or when you’d sit next to me at dinner.” He said, his hand running soothingly along your hip. “He told me that it was obvious and i was acting thick, and at 14 he told me whati was too stuck up my own ass to notice - that i thought you were pretty.” You felt yourself blush, “That’s rich, Freddie!” You laughed, playfully smacking his chest with your hand. “Hey! Hey! Don’t do that! I’m not finished!” He laughed nervously. “Then by all means, please carry on!” You said, still not fully convinced by the end of his last quip that you weren’t just the butt of a new joke the twins had conjured after Molly’s mentioning of you and Fred and the babies you could have at dinner. “If you would let me finish - well, I’ll continue. George has always been our biggest advocate - he knows me a lot better than i even know myself, sometimes. But I was stubborn. I didn’t want to give my brother the satisfaction of knowing he was right. At least, until 6th year - when I asked Angelina to the Yule Ball. George was furious with me, he’d seen you in the common room when asked her to go with me. He saw your face fall - and he still won’t let me live it down, years later.” Fred sighed, his hand came up to hold your cheek. “That Spring, I started to fall for you harder than I ever had before. Every quidditch match, I’d find you in the stands and nearly fall off my broom - well, before that miserable oaf, Umbridge had anything to say about my Quidditch career. And we had herbology together that year - ugh, when the greenhouses got surprisingly warm for that week in October. Every time you wore those knee socks rather than tights with your skirt I thought I would combust.” He chuckled and you tried to hide your eyes, but he held you steady. “When Umbridge caught you during a prank of mine and George’s - right before the Christmas holiday - I couldn’t control how angry I was, how absolutely gutted I felt. We spent that Christmas with my dad at St. Mungo’s, but we got a couple days here at home, and I told George about it, and he made me promise that I’d finally buck up and ask you out because if I was that upset, it could mean only one thing - that I loved you.” Fred said, and your heart melted at the tender expression that spread across his face as your eyes met. “Freddie.” You whispered, feeling swept up in your love for this boy who was pouring his heart out to you - and looked like he wasn’t quite finished. You hugged yourself as tightly against him as you could, his arms held you tightly, and he looked up at the ceiling as he continued.
“The last time we were here, George and i were sitting on our beds like we always would when we came home from a term at Hogwarts. We were talking about our lives, how growing up and being out on our own has changed some things. How we have both managed to find love, to feel truly the happiest we’ve ever felt outside of being around the shop and one another. George told me he really loves Angelina, thinks that she is the one for him; he gave me all the reasons why and it made me think about you. All the reasons I love you flooded into my head all at once, and the fact that I can’t imagine - let alone think about spending another day of my life without waking up next to you. The words just slipped out of my mouth, and i meant every single one, i said, ‘I’m going to marry y/n.’” Fred said, you could hear the emotion flooding his words, was this really happening? Your heart was pounding in your ears. “George just said ‘well, it’s about time!’” Fred laughed heartily, his arms loosened from around you before fidgeting to grab his wand from the side table. You sat up after him, your eyes following his every movement - including the flutter of every eyelash. “I originally planned to do this on Boxing Day, when we exchanged presents with the family - i was going to wait until everything was opened and then stop them and say that i had one more present to give.” Fred’a cheeks were flushing pink as he fiddled with his wand. “But then, Mum got a bit too lush at dinner - I may have hinted at my plan to her yesterday when we arrived - and i just decided I didn’t want to wait any longer.” He admitted. Fred waved his wand and something small shot out of the bottom of his empty goblet with a little *ting.* He pinched it between his fingers with such joie da vie.
“So, I brought you here hoping that we could start what I promise to make the best part of both our lives with just a few simple words.” Fred’s eyes were misty, his heart nearly pounding out of his chest, but by the expression on your face, he was sure he knew what your answer would be. “Y/F/N Y/L/N, will you marry me?” He asked, biting his lip softly. He was holding a thin silver band between his fingers, with a simple diamond sitting at its center - and it was absolutely perfect. “Yes, YES, Fred Weasley, I’ll marry you!” You quite nearly screeched your answer like a banshee, but it didn’t stop Fred from pulling you into his arms and kissing you passionately while happy tears streamed down your cheeks; Fred ran his thumbs across your cheeks to brush them away. “No need to cry, love; we’re getting married - You’re going to be Mrs. Weasley!” Fred said, his voice bubbling from his throat - almost as if he were singing. “I’m not crying because I’m sad, Fred - this is the happiest I’ve ever been, and it’s all because of you: It’s always been you, Frederick.” You said, resting your hand over one of his and leaning against it. “I love you.” He whispered, “I love you so much!” Fred’s voice sounded almost like it was bubbling out of his chest as he pulled you in for a passionate kiss that was different from any you’d ever shared - it was a seal to the commitment you were making to one another. He took your left hand in his when you parted, and squeezed it happily. “May I?” He asked and you were so ecstatic and overwhelmed, that all you could do was nod. He slipped the silver band onto your ring finger, the solitary diamond glittering in the warm candlelight. There was a diamond on your finger, and it was Fred Weasley who put it there; your heart was racing out of unadulterated joy. “It’s not much, but it’s a Prewitt family ring - mum’s family - had a couple settings intended for her brothers to propose with. When they didn’t make it through the last war - mum got them, and then when she had her own set of twins, she decided they should go to us.” He explained. You reached out with your ringed hand and pulled him into a sweet, loving kiss. “It’s perfect, Fred. It’s absolutely perfect.” You said, both of you beaming at one another in the quiet space of his bedroom.
You and Fred settled back onto his bed, you curled into his chest, hands intertwined, admiring the ring on your finger and soaking in the bliss that came from a new engagement - and the knowledge that you’d spend the rest of your lives with one another. Fred kept turning your hand over and bringing your ring finger to his lips, making you giggle each time he peppered kisses against the sparkling stone. “How are we going to tell everyone, Freddie?” You asked, feeling a ripple of excitement course through you at the thought of the reactions from his parents and siblings currently sleeping about the house. “I think we should be nonchalant about it. Act like nothing’s different, and then, you hand my mum the gift from us. She’ll go absolutely berserk!” Fred said, he was grinning as he rested his cheek against the crown of your head. “You thought all of this out, didn't you?” You chuckled, “Of course, no different than plotting a prank - but instead the outcome is in earnest!” Fred said with a chuckle. “I’ve wanted to marry you for a long time - feels like i’ve had the ring for ages - but something about asking you today just felt right.” He sighed. You turned over slightly, removing your hand from his and placing it on his cheek. You rested your forehead against Fred’s, “I cannot wait to marry you, Fred Weasley.” You whispered against his lips before meeting them in a rather sultry kiss. When you parted, Fred let out a little groan. “Stay with me tonight? George already said he’ll sleep in Percy’s room.” Fred murmured softly, his breath tickling your upper lip. “What about Ginny?” You asked, “You’d rather spend the night with my sister than with me? The man you are to marry?” He asked, feigning offense. “That is NOT what i am saying!” You quipped and he laughed brightly. “Don’t worry about Ginny, she’ll forget about it when she hears why you weren’t on your camp bed upstairs.” He said, nudging his nose affectionately against yours. “And anyway, she’s probably asleep by now, so she’ll hardly notice you’ve gone.” He whispered, kissing your lips slowly at the end of his sentence, your stomach fluttered with butterflies. “And i put a muffling charm on this room so we don’t wake anyone with any celebrations we may choose to partake in.” He said suggestively, his slow kisses were hungrier now. “Aren’t we supposed to save those for the wedding night, Mr. Weasley?” You asked jokingly, he rolled his eyes. “Well, you know I’ve never really been one for following the rules - so why should I start now?” He asked, bobbing his eyebrows. You gripped at the front of his t shirt and pulled him into a playful, but sensual kiss.
———
You snuck back to Ginny’s room in the very wee hours of the morning - the sun had just begun to rise when you fell back onto your camp bed to give the appearance of complete normalcy after spending the most lovely night with Fred that you’d ever had. It was painful to leave him - his crimson hair disheveled, his freckled chest nearly glowing in the moonlight, his hazel eyes undressing you the second you were redressed. You kept fiddling with your ring beneath the covers as you waited for Ginny and Hermione to wake up - unable to forget the feeling of Fred, kissing the glittering stone on your hand and calling you ‘Mrs. Weasley.’ Your heart was pounding out of your chest from your eagerness to share your good news - they’d find out soon enough.
Everyone woke to the smell of a full English breakfast cooking on the stove as they descended the stairs. You all bid one another “Happy Christmas” as they joined the ranks in the living room - Fred of course was one of the last ones downstairs, and he greeted you with a tight embrace around the middle and a searing kiss to your lips that made Ron turn to Harry and pretend to gag. “Feeing good?” He asked and you nodded, both of you mirroring the other’s enthusiastic grins. You noticed his freckled cheeks were flushed, “Something got you all flustered, Freddie?” You asked, knowing the answer already, and he nodded before leading you over to find your places at the table for breakfast. Fred made a point to sit on your left side, taking your hand beneath the table as often as he could manage.
After a lovely breakfast, you all went into the living room to open presents and you and Fred took your usual place on the couch. He pulled you into his side and you curled up against him, resting your hand against his chest as he, kissed the crown of your head. “Oh, aren’t you two just a sight!” Molly chirped in the direction of the two of you as she headed into the living room and taking a seat in one of the chairs next to the beautifully decorated Christmas tree, where she shuffled through packages and began handing them out to the happy faces filling her home. Everyone opened their new sweaters and scarves, then began handing out the ones you’d all brought along. Throughout the hustle and bustle of the holiday cheer, Fred bobbed his eyebrows at you, his hazel eyes glittering, and you nodded - it was time. “I’ve got it, Freddie.” You said, just as the two of you had discussed. You went over and picked up the packages you and Fred had brought for his siblings and parents, “Ginny, this one’s yours - and here’s Ron’s. George, here!” You read labels aloud as you handed out boxes. Finally, you picked up Molly’s package, and you stood, and she gave you a warm hug as you exchanged gifts - making sure to hand her gift to her with your left hand. “Oh, dearie, you didn’t have to do that!” She said as she took the package, admiring the pattern on the paper before her eyes were drawn to your hand, and the silver band on your finger. Her eyes went wide and she held your hand in hers, turning it slowly as the realization of what the ring meant dawned on her.
“You didn’t have this in the kitchen yesterday, did you?” She murmured to you, and you shook your head quickly, unable to stifle the smile spreading across your lips. “When?” She asked, eagerly. “Last night.” You said and she let out a cheerful giggle, “Did you know beforehand?” She asked, and you shook your head. Molly was speechless, and you could see the excitement in her eyes. Her arms wrapped tightly around you again in a loving embrace, and the two of you laughed. “So it’s - this? Are you? Frederick Gideon Weasley!” She shrieked, her voice making her son jump just as it did when he was a young boy and was caught turning Ron’s teddy bear into a spider. “Were you planning to tell your mother she’d be gaining another daughter or was I just supposed to guess?” Molly asked, a cheeky smirk crossing her face. “Wait, what?” Ginny asked, a puzzled look on her face that was quickly mirrored by most everyone in the room - except George who chuckled into his mug of coffee and Fred, who’s face turned a rather flaming shade of red. “Look what your brother finally plucked up the courage to do.” Molly said, flashing a bright smile as she held up your left hand, the sunlight from the window glinting against the diamond on your ring finger. “What? You asked her? Thought you’d at least have the decency to tell your brother first! I’d tell you before!” Ron whined and Hermione elbowed him in the ribs and blushed. “I told George!” Fred shot back and Ron glared at him. “That’s why you came out of Percy’s room this morning!” Ginny said, pointing at George. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He said, shooting his little sister a wink. “Well, it’s about time. I always said they would get married one day - especially after Bill’s wedding.” Ginny said, giving Hermione a wink - it turned out they’d staged a little bet over when Fred would find ally pop the question.
“Well, how’d you do it then? When’s the wedding? Where’s the wedding? We could have it here!” Molly began rattling off questions - and ultimately giving herself answers, which made Fred roll his eyes as he stood up to cross the room to get back to you. He pulled you into his chest and rocked you slowly back and forth in his embrace. “I think they approve. You can officially become a Weasley.” Fred murmured into your ear, and you let out a happy sigh. This was easily the best Christmas of your life, and it could only get better from here.
Never Ready For Goodbyes
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Reader (we surprised at this point??)
Warnings: none other than this ones sad. Sorryyyy..it’s happy towards the end tho!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two years.
It has been two years since (y/n) lost Fred in the battle of Hogwarts.
How is she doing? Well, she’s taking it day by day. Trying to stay strong for those around her.
It’s never easy to lose the person whom you wanted to share the rest of your life with.
Who you wanted to raise your children with, grow old with, and eventually when the time came, die with.
It wasn’t supposed to happen at different times. They were supposed to have a lifetime of adventures together.
Life has a funny way of playing out sometimes.
Tonight though, you could find (y/n) sitting on the steps just outside the door to the burrow.
Since the battle, Molly Weasley had prepared dinner every Saturday for her loved ones. Telling everyone it was just because she missed cooking for a whole family. However, everyone knew it’s because seeing everyone in the same place at once makes her forget for awhile about what she had lost not to long ago.
This Saturday however, hit (y/n) a little harder than the others. The date being the 6 year anniversary of her and Fred’s relationship. Having this one be the second one not spent together.
With the Weasley family catching up inside and the children playing together, (y/n) took it as a moment to slip away to get some fresh air.
Thus, bringing her outside staring up at the night sky and all the beauty it held.
The sound of crickets and water from the lake giving the girl a sense of peace. Something she hadn’t known she missed. She’d told herself she would try to live her life the way he would want her to, but how does one go on after what happened?
Sitting just outside of the house where the man she loved grew up was hard. Knowing he could never visit his old bedroom, taste his mother’s cooking, see his family again. It broke her heart.
She may have lost her love that night, but the people inside lost so much more.
She thought it selfish of her to grieve in front of them. That’s why she hasn’t let herself yet. She’s bottled it all up for the past two years. She had to be strong, for him.
Snapping out of her thoughts, the door opened to reveal a man who looked so much like the one who held her heart. Different in many ways however.
“It’s bloody cold out! What are you doing out here?”.
“Just taking a second to myself. Were they asking for me? I can go back in if they need me to get-”.
“They are fine right now. Mind if I join you?”. The boy said interrupting the girl.
Shaking her head, the girl moved over so he could take a seat next to her. Silence overtaking the two as they turned their attention towards the sky above them.
“Do you think he’s up there watching over us?”.
Turning her attention to the man, trying her best not to let her emotions get the best of her.
“I think so”.
Before he could ask her the question he’d been meaning to all night, the girl spoke up.
“So, how have you been Georgie? How’s Angelina and the baby?”.
“I’ve been well. Angelina has got me running on these crazy late night trips due to her cravings, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world”.
“That’s good to hear”.
Forcing a smile on her face. She was happy for them of course. It’s just that hearing about their life and the child that was on the way broke her a little bit inside to know she could now never share those moments with Fred.
“How are you (y/n)?”
She knew someone was bound to ask her this question at some point in the night. They always did, and after the night was over and she laid in her bed she would silently cry herself to sleep.
“Oh, I’m fine”.
“I really wish you would stop doing that.”
Confusion took over the girls face as she looked into his eyes.
“Pretending that you’re ok when you’re not. It’s ok (y/n). You lost him too”.
Looking down toward her feet, the girl tried to hide the tears pooling in her eyes.
“You can talk to me”.
Taking her hand in his for comfort. The girl broke. The tears she’d been holding back for so long had finally decided to break free. Sinking into George’s side, the girl cried. All the emotions that have been held back, finally coming out.
“If I talk about it. It becomes too real”. the girl spoke with a brittle voice in between her sobs.
Gently wrapping his arm around her shoulder. He brought the girl in for a hug. It hurt to see one of his best friends like this. To see such a pure soul in so much pain.
“I know. I don’t expect you to move on so quickly (y/n). I just want you to know that when you’re ready to, we are all here for you”. Looking into her eyes, “and I know you. You think it’s not fair to show your grief, but your wrong. Because in doing so you’re hurting yourself. You and I both know my brother wouldn’t want you to do this to yourself”.
Slowly, her sobs slowed down. Allowing the girl to catch her breath. Wiping a few away with the back of her hand accompanied by a few sniffles.
Leaning away from the boy, looking forward refusing to make eye contact. She knew he was right. Fred would want her to confide in his family. That he would want her to accept their help. Knowing this, she finally gave in.
“I wasn’t ready to say goodbye”. She said, struggling to find the strength to get the words out.
Breaking down again, hiding her face into her hands. It felt as if she would be crying for years. That there was absolutely no way to stop it.
“We were supposed to have forever together. I know it’s selfish to close myself off to the possibility of finding someone else. It’s just-“
Breaking down even harder now, George was quick to wrap her back up into a hug. Squeezing her tighter to reassure her that he was right there.
“It’s just that he was it for me. I don’t want anyone else. I don’t think I ever will”.
Barley hearing her voice due to her face pressed into his shoulder. He let her cry it out a little while longer before speaking up.
“It’s ok. No one expects you to go out and marry a man right away...or ever if that’s what your heart chooses. We just don’t want you to be sad forever. We all love and care about you too much to continue to watch you in pain. We know that it’s going to be awhile before we are all better. You are a Weasley (y/n). No matter, official or not. You are part of this family. Never forget that. You have so many people in that house right now who care about you”.
A genuine smile appeared on the girls face as the tears slowly stopped falling from her eyes. His words meaning more to her than he would ever know. They were her family. No matter what. The people in that house, she couldn’t see how she wouldn’t make it out with their help.
“Thank you George. For everything”.
Pulling away and slowly rising to his feet, he nodded towards the girl with a smile. Opening the door to walk inside, a small redheaded boy ran under his uncles arm and towards the woman sitting on the steps.
“Mum! Mum! Guess what Grammy told me! She said I could help make dessert!”.
Jumping into the arms of the woman. Used to the craziness that was her son. She caught him in time before he fell off the steps towards the ground. Bringing him in to sit on her lap.
“She did! Well that’s great lovey! What are you going to make?”.
“She said we are going to make pie!...wait..why were you crying?”, the boy asked gently placing his little hands on both sides of her face.
Brushing a piece of his grown out hair behind his ear and looking into his eyes, she saw him. He was a spitting image of his father. She was happy that even though he was no longer there, she still had a little piece of him with her. A perfect combination of her and Fred.
“Just missing dad is all love bug”.
The little boy wrapped his arms around her neck and pulled her into a hug. A feeling she would never get tired of.
“Wanna help me and Grammy make the pie?”, he asked with bright eyes.
“I’d love too baby”.
Standing up, with him wrapped around her torso. They made their way back inside the burrow with the rest of their family. Knowing she wasn’t alone and it was going to be ok, maybe not today, but one day.

Rosy Cheeks | Fred x Reader
Prompt as anon requested: Fred has always been very forward with his feelings, especially when it comes girls. You on the other hand were always taken aback by how forward he was.
Warnings: fluffy, blushy, cute, warm, and fuzzy :)
Word Count: 2.4k
Tumblr media
Small chatter in the library filled Fred’s ears as he sat at a small table pushed against the wall. He leaned back, twirling his quill in his fingers, not paying a lick of attention to the study group at the table. He tuned out Alicia’s voice going on about Flitwick’s class, arguing with Angelina about an answer to the study guide they made together for their upcoming exam. This was all nonsense to Fred in comparison to what he was staring at; rather who he was staring at.
Fred maintained a soft gaze on you from across the library. He watched as you sat alone at a small table, hair pulled up sloppily into a pony tail, the loose strands falling around your face, framing it. You propped your head up with your hand as you read through a book, flipping its pages, struggling to find the information you needed for the same exam he was preparing for. Fred’s heart fluttered in his ribcage as he watched you bite your lip, squinting your eyes as you read the words on the page. How was it possible for someone to be this adorable without even trying?
George leaned back in his chair, laughing at Alicia and Angelina fighting over the right answer. He turned to his right to see his twin, staring off into the distance. He followed his brother’s line of sight and saw exactly who he was gawking at. He let out a light chuckle, “Fred, mate, stop gawking at her and go talk to her.”

Summer of Realization
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Reader
Warning: None really..it’s a little long hehe it’s unedited once again because it’s currently 3am and I’m tired
A/N: Now that Christmas is over..I begin the countdown to summer with this fic :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Warmth. Sitting in the sun has and forever will be one of (y/n’s) favorite things to do. The feeling it gives is indescribable. Anyone who knew the girl, knew you could find her outside on summer days like this one.
(Y/n) had arrived to the burrow just last night to spend a few week with her friends. You see, during their first year her, Harry and Ron became good friends. To this day she was glad she chose to sit next to the two boys on the train to Hogwarts. Later, the three becoming friends with none other than Hermione Granger. Today though, there wasn’t a thing that could separate the four. (Y/n) at the time had no idea what crazy adventures she’d find herself involved in with the three. Of course she’d known that being friends with “the boy who lived” would come with strange and unusual things, but Merlin it’s like every year something crazier happened than the last. However, she never complained. Gladly helping her friends in the times they needed it the most. When Ron invited her to the burrow for a few weeks during summer, she was quick to accept the invitation. It was the only time her life seemed to be peaceful.
Looking out the kitchen window, Molly came across (y/n) laying in the grass field just outside her home. A smiled found its way on her face. Knowing her children’s friends came to love her home as their second apart from their own. Finishing up lunch, Molly looked around to find Fred sitting on the couch. “Fred dear, go and fetch (y/n) from outside for lunch would you?”. Turning back around to then set up the table for the children. Standing up from the couch, Fred made his way outside to where you were.
Fred had sworn he had never seen someone hold so much beauty. Seeing her sitting the the sun. Basking in it’s warmth. Enjoying the fresh air. The slight breeze moving her hair slightly off her shoulders. Her glowing skin she had gotten by her hours of laying in the sun just as she’s doing right now. He was sure she was an angel sent from above. He never meant for it to happen. Falling for one of his little brother best friends. He just couldn’t help that the girl had grown to have a special place in his heart.
It was moments like these that (y/n) lived for. Closing her eyes to appreciate the nice day. It was short lived however, as chill ran across her skin making goosebumps appear. Curious as to the sudden change in temperature, (y/n) reluctantly opened one eye to peak at the cause. Above her stood none other than Fred Weasley. She had been so enamored by the warm hug the sun presented her with; she didn’t even hear Fred walk up behind her. Bent over slightly, a smile slowly spread across his face. “Hello sunshine”.
Looking up to the boy with both eyes opening fully, “Sunshine huh? That’s a new one”. She giggled slightly at the new nickname from the boy. Standing from her place on the grass, she turned and faced the tall ginger. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”, the girl looked up; questioning his sudden appearance outside next to her.
Oh, how Fred wished he could just kiss her in that moment. Looking down to see her rosy cheeks no doubt caused by her time just spent in the sun. Her sundress falling just above her knees. Her hair falling into perfect place. Snapping back into reality, “Mum asked me to tell you lunch is ready”. He said, realizing he had probably been caught day dreaming before finally answering her question. She just didn’t need to know it was her he was day dreaming about.
“Fred Weasley, you just made me the happiest girl in the world. I am STARVING!”, the girl said in response while lightly placing her hands on his shoulders. Letting her arms drop from their place, (Y/n) excitedly started to make her way back to the house. Prepared for the heaven she was about to experience known as Molly Weasleys cooking. Turning back to find Fred stuck in his place, looking at her with adoration? She quirked an eyebrow up, “Well Weasley, are you coming or what?” She shouted turning around to continue her way towards the smell of food.
A few days had passed from their little encounter outside the burrow. Since then, the days only grew hotter. The Weasley’s, Harry, Hermione, and (y/n) all found themselves sitting in the living room. Fanning themselves trying to get some sort of relief from the heat. “Bloody hell, if it gets any hotter in here I might just end it”, Ron spoke up from the silence. Looking at him, a few laughed at his remark. Others too hot to find the will to laugh.
“Wait a minute. Why aren’t we swimming in the lake outside?”, (y/n) questioned looking at the others around the room while wiping the sweat off her forehead. Forgetting about it entirely they all gave each other a knowing look before rushing to their feet to put on their bathing suits. (Y/n) trying not to get trampled by the sudden movement of all of them. Covering herself with her arms and pulling her legs in towards her body. Once she felt it was safe, she looked up only to be met with a hand held out towards her. Fred’s to be exact. “Thank you”, she quietly mumbled whilst grabbing it to help her stand. With a slight nod, Fred smiled and walked to go get ready as the others did. Watching him leave, (y/n) couldn’t help but question why Fred had been being so nice. Not that he never was, it just seemed more obvious now. She couldn’t help but be notice the small irruption of butterflies that appeared in her stomach when thinking of the boy. Did she like Fred Weasley? Brushing it off, she went upstairs to change.
All the others had already made their way outside and in the water by the time (y/n) finished getting ready. Fred couldn’t help but admire the way her swimsuit had hugged her figure perfectly as she approached the group. His eyes racked over her figure. From the way her hair sat perfectly placed in the bun on top of her head, the way her bikini top accentuated her chest, all the way down to her legs. What he would to to have them wrapped around his- “NO! Fred stop thinking like that” the boy thought to himself. Trying not to get too aroused, Fred submerged his body down into the water. Hoping that the cool water would brush away his impure thoughts. Don’t get him wrong, (y/n) was beyond beautiful. He couldn’t help but occasionally think of her in a sexual way. He just felt bad about doing it. He respects (y/n) and likes her for more than just her body.
Finally joining the others in the water, (y/n) had been floating on her back peacefully before she was suddenly lifted onto someone’s shoulders. Looking down only to see Fred smiling up at her. “Fred what the bloody hell are you doing!?”, the girl frantically asked placing her hands on his head to steady herself. Wrapping his arms around her ankles in order to help, he motioned for her to look towards the others. Looking up, (y/n) saw Hermione on George’s shoulders as well. “Hermione! Did you tell them about the game chicken!?”. Laughing at the girls question directed towards her, she nodded her head. (Y/n) would usually would have found herself shouting at the person to put her down. However, looking at the joy on Hermione’s face and the fun she was having; she went along with the game. It was rare to see her best friend have so much fun. (Y/n) then lowered her head down toward Fred’s ear.
“Weasley if we don’t win, I will never speak to you again”, (y/n) jokingly said. Fred had never been more determined to win at something in his life, not even a quidditch game. He of course knew she was joking, but the thought of her never saying a word to him again he couldn’t handle. Minutes passed and (y/n) had successfully knocked Hermione off George’s shoulders. Getting down from Fred’s shoulders, (y/n) jumped into Fred’s arms hugging him as a thanks for the effort towards their victory. Without thinking, the girl placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. Blushing, the both of them looked at each other for a few seconds. (Y/n) then let go of the boy to then swim over to Hermione and Ginny. Fred however was frozen in place. Did she really just kiss him on the cheek? Or was he dreaming?
The next day is when things changed between the two. Everyone could see it to. This small kiss she placed on his cheek the day prior, changed their whole dynamic. Fred would now take the seat next to her given the chance. Whether it be at the dinner table or on the sofa, he made it a point to be right there. (Y/n) would rest her head on his shoulder when feeling sleeping if they were all hanging out. She would find herself absentmindedly playing with his hand. Fred would randomly throw his arm over her shoulder and kiss her temple. Both each caught by their friends/siblings staring at the other longingly. (Y/n) had ended up spending more time with Fred than her best friends during her stay at the burrow.
That night, Ginny made a mental note to ask the girl about it before they went to bed. Laying down, before getting comfortable enough to sleep; Ginny spoke out. “So, what’s going on between you and my brother (Y/n)?”. Eyes widening, (y/n) looked at the girl shocked by her question. “W-what do you mean? What makes you- um think anything’s going on with me and Fred?”. Rolling her eyes at the girls response. Ginny looked at the girl with a look as if to say ‘I’m not blind’. “Well for starters, you guys have been all lovey towards each other”, (y/n) hadn’t really noticed that. She sort of just fell into her feelings about the boy and guessed it changed how she acted as well. “Also”, Ginny added, “I have six brothers and I never said Fred’s name”. Hermione laughed at the last part along with Ginny. “Oh Ginny quit being mean”. Both Hermione and (y/n) knew she was just giving the girl a hard time, no malicious intent behind her teasing. Hermione then looked at (y/n) before speaking out again. “What is going on between the two of you? I mean we all see the way you two look and act towards each other”. Sighing, (y/n) sat up from where she was sleeping on the floor, back now resting against the wall.
“I honestly don’t know. He’s been really sweet lately. I never really looked at him like that before this summer. I mean of course I always thought he was good looking. Since being here though, my feelings have changed. Being around him has made me happier. Way happier than I ever thought possible. I know it doesn’t make much sense but, it’s like everything I’ve been missing from my life... It was him. I’m not saying I’m in love with him...or I am? I don’t know if I am honest. Merlin! these feelings are so new I’d be scared if I fell so soon so fast. Trust me, it’s hard not to when being around him, but I can just see myself being with him. Getting to call him mine. It’s weird because these feelings scare me, but also really excite me. Am I crazy? I probably sound absolutely insane right now saying all this don’t I?”.
This was the first time (y/n) had realized her feelings for Fred. Of course she knew they were there, but saying them out loud to her friends made it all the more real. Both grabbing her hands, Ginny and Hermione were looking at the girl with bright smiles. “(Y/n) you’re not crazy”, Hermione said, taking a short break before her next sentence. “You’re just in love”. A blush appeared along (y/n’s) face. Looking back and forth between both girls, “Can this stay between just us please?” She nervously asked. Nodding their heads and switching the topic of conversation. The girls talked a little while longer before laying down to get some sleep.
(Y/n) tossed and turned, finding it hard to sleep. Her thought consumed by the boy who was just a few rooms down from her. Deciding some fresh air might help, she slowly moved aside her blankets and quietly making her way out side of the burrow. Just as (y/n) loved the warmth of the sun, she shared the same love for the calm that came with the night. Walking over to take a seat on the grass, the girl laid down looking up at the night sky.
Unknown to her, Fred had trouble sleeping as well. The girl he loved was all that he could think about. How over the course of a few days, she managed to make him fall harder for her. That and with George’s snoring it was impossible to sleep. Finding himself thirsty, he decided to make his way down stairs for a glass of water. Before he could do that though, he glanced out his window to find something he wasn’t expecting.
Throwing a sweater on and grabbing an extra one of his knitted jumpers, the boy made his way toward the girl outside. Walking up to the her, he slightly bent down, “we’ve got to stop meeting like this love”. Playfully rolling her eyes, a small laugh passed her lips. “You’re a dork Freddie”, the girl said now siting up. Noticing the girl shiver at the cool night breeze, he handed her the extra jumper he grabbed knowing she would need it. Silently thanking him, (y/n) slipped on the sweater. Her nose overtaken by his smell. Fred smiled at the way his jumper was too big on the girl. He wanted to just take her in his arms and never let her leave.
Taking a seat on the ground next to the girl, he looked to her and asked why she was out in the cold wearing her pajama pants and a tank top in the first place. Laughing, she turned to the boy, “I couldn’t sleep. My thoughts were keeping me up. Just needed some fresh air.” Looking back at the sky, silence had taken over the conversation. “Me too. Might I ask what you were thinking about?” The ginger headed boy asked intrigued as to what thought brought her outside.
(Y/n) thought back to the conversation her and her friends had before they fell asleep. She was never one to act on her feelings. Always taking the safer route. With Fred though, she wanted to do something she never thought she would. She wondered if what would happen if she decided to act on her feelings this time. Pulling her knees towards her chest and resting her head against them. Turning to face him, she was sure she had never seen someone so beautiful. Looking into his eyes, “You”.
If it weren’t for the still of the night, Fred would have missed what she said. “Y-you were thinking about me?” The boy asked, heart rate picking up. The girl simply nodded before looking towards the ground once again. Playing with the grass, a nervous habit of hers he had picked up on. A smile found its place on Fred’s face. “Nows the part where you ask me what I was thinking about” he spoke up, lightly bumping his elbow into her arm.
A little embarrassed from her confession she looked back towards the boy, “Oh is it. Well then, Fred Weasley what were you thinking about that kept you up?”. Moving closer to the girl, he gently grabbed her cheek with his left hand bringing her face closer to his. Her breath caught in her throat at his sudden closeness. Gently running his thumb across her bottom lip, faces only inches apart, “you” he whispered before crashing his lips onto hers.
Eyes closing at the feeling of pure bliss. The kiss held all the emotions the other had felt for each other. Pulling her closer to him, the kiss became needy. Fred’s tongue had lightly brushed against her lower lip, asking permission for more. Gladly accepting, (y/n) slightly opened her mouth allowing his tongue to enter. The kiss went on like that for a few more moment before the need for oxygen became too much.
Pulling away slightly to regain his breath, Fred opened his eyes to see that (y/n’s) were still closed. Smiling down at the girl. Slowly regaining her composure she had found the strength to open her eyes. “So, I wasn’t expecting that”. The girl said blushing hard. “What does it mean for us?” Looking into the boys eyes hoping she could find the answer in them. His hand still holding her face, “Well, now I think you’re legally obligated to be my girlfriend”. He said smiling down at her. Placing her hand on top of his, “Is that so?”. The girl asked looking from his eyes down to his lips. Wanting nothing more than to kiss him again. As if he read her mind, Fred went in to kiss the girl for the second time that night. “It is. Sorry love, I don’t make up the rules”.
Fake Dating
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Reader
Warning: None other than this not being edited..oops!! She’s a long one so be ready lol. Whole bunch of angst and some fluff in this one
A/n: you guys this took so long to write my hands are cramping!! I hope everyone had a good Christmas! Also apologizes for the rough writing I’ll edit this some day :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“My family thinks we’re dating” Fred casually said while taking a seat at the table. Nearly choking on her pumpkin juice, (y/n) stared at him wide eyed.
“I’m sorry they WHAT!?” She silently shouted over the table at Fred. Wide eyed and frozen in place “Why would they think that Fred?”. It wasn’t that (y/n) was repulsed by the idea of dating him. It was the opposite actually. (Y/n) had been crushing on him for what seemed like forever. The thing that shocked her was the fact that she had only talked to the boy a handful of times. They hadn’t really spoken out of class. Only carrying conversations when they were partnered for a project or the occasional ‘hi’ in the hallways. Being in the same year and house, you’d think they’d talk more often.
“Because I told them we were?” He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Sitting straighter in her chair, (y/n) was struggling to get a word out. “But we aren’t dating? Fred we barley even know each other. Why would you say that to them?”, the girl questioned.
“Ok, so here’s the thing. Yesterday, I was in the library sitting with all my siblings and they kept going on about how I have never had an ‘official’ girlfriend. I was upset that they all thought I was some sort of ‘player’. I guess yours was the name that just popped into my head”. Finishing his little back story, Fred couldn’t find the strength to meet her eyes. How could he have been so stupid. To say the name of girl who he’s only been crushing on for as long as he could remember? He couldn’t have said anyone else’s name. Nope, he had to say (y/n’s).
(Y/n) had heard of his ‘player’ status around the school from girls. However, she never really believed what people said. She never saw Fred flirting or stringing girls along. He was always with his twin brother and his many other friends.
Before she could respond to Fred’s little back story, the doors to the great hall opened. Walking in was none other than George, Ron, Ginny, Harry, and Hermione. Spotting (y/n) and Fred sat down at the table, they made their way towards the two. All sitting down, George making it to where he was to the right of (y/n).
“So (y/n), I heard you are dating my brother here. What’s that about?” George’s statement directed towards the girl. Fred’s heart dropped. This was it. This is where he would be caught in his lie and the girl of his dreams would confess how she would never date someone like him. His family would never let him live this down, and she would hate him for the rest of his life for dragging her into his lie.
“How do you mean?” She questioned back toward the ginger headed boy. “Well, I just mean why would you say yes to dating my twin? I mean I’m obviously the better looking twin” George joked in response, earning a small laugh from Ron and Harry.
“Hate to break it to you George, but my boyfriend has got you beat in the looks category” she stated with a simple shrug. Looking towards Fred, she found he was already staring at her with flushed cheeks. She winked and went back to eating her food on the table. She didn’t rat him out. He couldn’t believe she went along with it, I mean as she pointed out before, they barley knew each other. Everyone looked at Fred finally believing that he and (y/n) were in fact dating.
After breakfast had ended, (y/n) picked up her bag ready to make her way towards potions. Before she got a chance to leave the great hall, Fred reached out for her arm. Tugging her back slightly so she would turn around to meet him face to face. “Hey, um thanks for what you did back there. You didn’t have to say what you did, so I really appreciate it”. Looking at Fred, she could see the nervousness in his facial expressions. “No problem, can’t have my boyfriend looking like a complete and utter fool in front of his family can we?” She said with a small laugh. A sound Fred now knows he would never get tired of hearing. “So does this mean you’ll be my fake girlfriend for a little? We can break up in like a month or two?” He cautiously asked her, unsure if what happened at breakfast was the extent of their so called ‘relationship’.
“Yeah Fred, I’ll agree. Wouldn’t make sense to start ignoring you after breakfast today now would it?”. Hearing the words ‘fake’ and ‘breakup’ directed at her from Fred felt like a punch to the gut. Words she never in a million year wanted to hear from her crush. Merlin, they weren’t even actually dating and she was already dreading the breakup.
The next few weeks were full of unexpected amounts of affection from Fred. Sure she knew that they would have to hold hands, spend more time together, etc. She wasn’t used to his flirty comments directed at her or the sweet gestures he would do. Nor was she prepared for the kisses he would randomly give her or their short make out sessions. Not that she was complaining. It was almost as if it wasn’t and act and they’d been dating for years. Nowadays, rather than finding Fred wherever George was; you’d find him wherever (y/n) was. During their time spent together, they had got to know one another better. (Y/n) found out that Fred was determined to open up a joke shop with his twin one day. That he was a big family man and would protect them at all costs. Fred had found out that (y/n) was an only child and her parents split when she was young. The more time spent together, the more each of them fell harder for one another. Neither knowing that the other felt the same. “Merlin was it gonna hurt a couple months from now when they had to break up”, both of them thought to themselves.
“Hello my love” Fred said to (y/n) before lightly placing a kiss to her temple and taking the empty seat next to her. “Hi Freddie”. She responded, slightly blushing at his display of affection. Before they had a chance to talk about how their days had been so far, Professor Sprout had started the lesson for Herbology.
Walking hand in hand in the hallway after class, (y/n) had been telling Fred about how Snape was being rude to all the Gryffindors in potions, as usual, but today the wrath was directed at her for a absurd reason. Stopping in the middle of the hall, Fred wrapped his arms around (y/n’s) neck bringing her in for a hug. Gently placing a kiss to her forehead, he mumbled “I’m sorry love. Want me to hex him for you?”. Instantly wrapping her arms around his torso engulfed by his scent; (y/n) felt the weight of her stress lift off her shoulders. “If only it were that simple” she responded with a light chuckle. She had never been more embarrassed than she did in her positions class that morning. Snape had asked her question about different positions that no one in her year would even know. Getting them all wrong, Snape decided to take 20 points away from Gryffindor. All she wanted to do in that moment was crawl in a hole and never come out.
Now though, wrapped up in Fred’s arms; it was all she needed to get through the rest of the day. Their hug ended shortly after hearing Ron’s voice shout towards them in the hall. Looking around only to find the shorter redhead running towards them. (Y/n) and Fred then deciding to reluctantly let go of one another.
“Fred! (Y/n)! Bloody hell, I’ve been looking every where for the two of you” Ron said, taking a second to catch his breath. “Fred, mum wants to know if (y/n) will be coming to the burrow Christmas break. Write her a letter if she is or not. Oh, and next time answer mums letters. I hate having to be the messenger.” Ron finished while walking away.
“So, the famous burrow huh?”, (Y/n) said smiling up toward Fred while walking with each other to the great hall for lunch. The thought of spending the holidays with Fred and his family brought a sense of warmth to her. “Yeah, mum asked about you. I didn’t answer right away because I wasn’t sure you would want to go. I mean we’re supposed to stage a break up in a couple weeks and I wasn’t sure if you wanted to meet mum before then”. Fred’s words rushed out of him. Every word he has said hurt his heart each a little more than the last.
“Oh, um right the breakup. Yeah I guess it wouldn’t make sense for me to go then.” (Y/n) said in response. Just like that, the warmth she once felt disappeared. Fred had noticed her change of demeanor. Unaware of how much his words had just affected her, Fred knew something had to be wrong. Seeing her go from happy to sad in a split second. Maybe she was still upset about her potions class? Reaching out to grab her hand, “Hey, what’s wrong?” Fred quietly asked. Slowly moving her hand away from his, hating that she instantly started to miss his touch. She took a step back, “Nothing, I just forgot I have to be somewhere right now. I’ll see you later Fred”. With that, she turned and walked away. Watching as she left, Fred’s heart dropped. It had been weeks since she called him that. He’s become so used to hearing her call him ‘Freddie’ or ‘my love’. He knew though that it was all an act. She couldn’t possible harbor real feelings for him. I mean, she was perfect while he was just, him.
A few days had passed, Christmas break was creeping up on the Professors and students of Hogwarts. The stress about exams and what to get people as gifts approaching with the holiday. (Y/n) however, was stressing about something entirely different. She had been avoiding Fred ever since the day he brought up the breakup. Crying herself to sleep because some how she managed to convince herself that he might actually feel the same way. That image shattered the last day they talked. She figured if they didn’t talk and she avoided him, maybe he would take it as their unofficial official breakup.
During the days she hadn’t spoken to him, Fred was a complete mess. He couldn’t sleep and barley ate. He still managed to do his school work and keep up on his grades, but it wasn’t easy. He hadn’t realized how much of an affect (y/n’s) presence had on him. He missed holding her hand. He missed hearing her laugh. Missed how she would always make sure he ate that day and got enough rest the night before. He just missed her.
Laying in his bed with the curtains closed. Thoughts of her was all that crossed Fred’s mind. Not even a minute later, George opened the door to their shared dormitory. “Hey mate, it’s dinner time. Want to join me and Ginny in the dining hall?” George spoke out into the darkness of the room. “I’m not hungry” Fred simply stated. “You need to eat something Fred”. Fred could hear the concern laced in his brothers voice. Fred couldn’t think about food right now. All he could think about was how he should have never asked (y/n) to fake date him. How he should have just maned up and did it for real. “Alright. I’ll bring you up a plate later just in case you change your mind”. George said before gently closing the door behind him.
“He’s not coming Ginny. He said he wasn’t hungry again”. George had said to his sister. “Yeah I just went to check on (y/n), she didn’t want to eat either. She’s a complete mess! I just don’t get what happened between them”. The youngest Weasley said in response. Both unaware that Fred had over heard them while they stood outside the door talking. To hear that (y/n) was in just as much pain hurt him. The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt her. Deciding then, if he was going to get out of his bed for anything, it would be to check on her.
(Y/n) ignored the first couple knocks on her dorm room door figuring it was just Ginny coming to double check about getting dinner. Rolling over on her bed to face her window, she figured Ginny would just leave after not getting an answer. However, more knocks were heard from the other side. “Ginny I told you I’m not hungry so you can just go get food I’ll be fine”. (Y/n) shouted from the other side of the door before opening it to reveal the Weasley she was least expecting.
“Hi” Fred softly spoke. Scared that his own voice would fail him if he tried to talk any louder. He hadn’t seen her in days. Even though her hair was thrown in a messy bun, dark circles under her eyes, Fred swore he hadn’t seen anyone more beautiful than her. “What are you doing here Freddi- Fred?”. She spoke clearing her throat in the process. “I um- I just wanted to check on you. We haven’t talked in days so I just wanted to make sure you were ok”. She could hear the sadness in the tone of his voice. Her heart breaking each second the man she came to love stood before her. Knowing she could no longer hug him or kiss him like she’d been doing the weeks prior. “Oh, I’m fine. Thanks for checking up on me”. She responded, voice barley above a whisper. Both looked at each other, standing in the door way Fred trying to memorize every feature on her face just in case she slammed the door in his face and told him she never wanted to see him again.
Before he could think, the words fell past his lips. “I miss you”. Looking down to her feet as a tear threatened to fall down her cheek, (y/n) tried to choke back her sobs. Slowly walking toward her, Fred gently placed his hands on her cheeks. Lifting her head ever so slightly so that she was looking at him rather than the floor boards. Noticing the tears falling past her cheeks, he used the pads of his thumbs to wipe them away. “Oh, baby please don’t cry”. He softly spoke to her. His words only bring more tears to her eyes. Her heart breaking a little bit more when hearing them. Her instincts took over and she found her self wrapping her arms around his torso and burying her face in his chest. Wrapping his arms around her in response. Holding her for what seemed like ages in silence. Her sobs slowly coming to a stop.
Slightly pulling away to look her in the eyes, Fred’s voice broke the silence. “I’m so sorry (y/n). I’m sorry that I dragged you into this fake relationship and that I ended up hurting you in the process. I never in a million years wanted to hurt you, and the fact that I did makes me hate myself. Hurting you was the last thing I wanted to do. I can’t sit here and tell you I would take back our time together though. (Y/n) those weeks we spent together, I fell more in love with you than I ever thought possible. I don’t want to forget our mid day naps together on the couch in the common room when no one was there. I don’t want to forget sneaking to the kitchen to bake cookies at 1 am because you were craving them. I don’t want to take back the laughs or hugs or kisses we gave one another. Merlin (y/n) I am so in love with you it hurts. I have never felt more love for a person than I do for you.”
Out of breath from his confession of love toward the girl before him, he struggled to read her facial expressions. (Y/n) took notice of the worried expression taking over his face as a response to her silence. Speaking up before he could take it all back, “I love you too Freddie. I’ve been in love with you for the longest time. I’m sorry I’ve been ignoring you. You didn’t deserve that. I guess it’s just that, hearing you talk about the breakup hurt me a lot more than I thought it would because Freddie I wanted it to be real so bad. I wanted us to be real”.
“Baby, it can be. If you let me, I will spend the rest of my life showing you how much I love you and how much you mean to me. All of it for real this time. I want us. I want to be able to hold you again”, he said while grabbing her hands in his. “I want to be able to touch you again”, whispering the words in her ear; leaning closer as his hands let go of hers to now take their place on her lower back. “I want to be able to kiss you again”. Fred then pulled her body closer to his closing the small gap left between them.
Slowly closing her eyes as her lips connected with his. (Y/n) was sure that this was heaven. Reaching her right hand up to hold his face in place as the kiss deepened. (Y/n) knew that this was what she wanted. Fred Weasley was what she wanted. She knew that he was it for her.
“What do you say?” Fred said out of breath pulling away from the kiss they shared seconds ago. Placing his forehead against hers. (Y/n) finally found the strength to slowly open her eyes from what she would describe as the best kiss she’d ever received. “I say, I think we need to tell your mum to set an extra place at the table for you girlfriend. That’s if she’ll still have me over for the holiday”. Grinning from ear to ear, Fred pulled her in for another kiss. Struggling to find the strength to pull away. After finally managing to, he had his arms around the back of her legs; picking her up so his arms were supporting her body. Wrapping her legs around his back and her arms around him, (y/n) buried her face into her boyfriends neck. Squeezing her softly, Fred turned slightly to kiss her head. “I love you so much (y/f/n) (y/l/n)”. Moving her head back to look Fred straight in the eyes, seeing nothing but pure adoration in them, (y/n) softly spoke, “I love you more Fred Weasley”. Pecking her lips for a quick kiss, Fred spoke in full confidence, “Impossible”.
