“ Of course he didn’t, typical.” She sighs.” I didn’t know Henry had friends, are you sure he knows that?” Holly jokes she knew how her brother was he kept to himself and barely talked about his life.” Well it’s nice to meet you Miles, I’m Holly. “ She steps aside.” Come on in, I was just having a drink myself after a long day of work, I’ll pour one for you.”

“He really isn’t the kind to share is he?” Miles jokes, he’s not that worried Henry didn’t tell him about his sister, he knows it’s just who the other is. “You know, sometimes I do wonder,” Miles jokes again, letting out a chuckle, “He may not admit it, but regardless of what he says, we are in fact friends,” considering how many times Miles had patched the other up, and how many times they had just hang around each other, having a drink and chatting, it was fair to assume they were in fact friends, even if grumpy Henry would say otherwise. “Thank you,” he smiles as he walks in, “It’s been a long day at work. So are you just visiting or new in town?”

eliza nodded her head. she was glad that she was no longer stuck in a job she hated. she wasn’t sure what this would lead to and if she would always love it but it was something that she could see herself doing for a while “i’m not surprised.” she commented, her eyes staring down at her coffee cup, “i’m not sure anyone in your life really liked me.” which, at the time didn’t matter because he cared about her. now, things were different and she was sure jesse was just trying to be civil at this point. she inhaled a deep breath and shook her head at him, “no,” she started, clearing her throat. “i haven’t and that’s why i can’t be friends with you. call me childish or whatever but i know if we become friends, i’ll continue to get attached and i can’t hang out and pretend i’m not still heart broken that you broke up with me.”

“It’s not like that,” Jesse sighed, his fingers tapping on the table, as he looks down at it, “It’s not they don’t like you, its just that they thought it wasn’t a good idea for us to be... you know, seeing each other? they were just concerned,” he says, finally looking up at her, a bit of a frown in his face, sure, his friends always told him, she was just not the girl he should be with, but this time, it was actually out of concern for both their feelings. “That’s not childish,” and for some reason, he actually does smile at that, maybe because for once, he felt she was actually making the right decision, “That’s actually a pretty adult decison, it would be childish if you let yourself go knowing you’re going to be hurt, sometimes you gotta put yourself first,” he sighs, “I understand. Maybe... in the future?”Jesse asks, he didn’t fully want her out his life, but he did see where she was coming from, it was not like he had moved on himself, was it? “I’m sorry. For everything, the way it all ended...I’m sorry for hurting you.”

“sometimes. if i know i can cheat and more than likely win, i’m a cheater.” she pointed out with a small laugh. she hugged avery closer to her chest and kissed the top of the baby’s head. it almost made her want to have one of her own but she just wasn’t sure motherhood was in the books for her at this point, which was okay but it was just that she thought her life would be a lot different once she was an adult. “right. well, you guys always have me there no matter what you decide.” she let him go on for a moment and gave him a small smile. he always knew how to make her feel a little better. “i don’t know. i’ll just have to wait and see what happens. right now, i’m focusing on my new job and i think i’m doing better.” she paused for a few moments, “i did, you know, run into jesse the other day and i’m trying not to bring him up but he was actually nice. he even asked why i didn’t come to his party.”

“Hey, not fair! do not lean from your aunt, Ave, she’s silly,” Axel jokes, playfully  watching her with the baby, a smile on his lips as he did so. “We know, thank you, baby, we appreciate it, we  may eventually need someone to watch Avery, I want to keep the romance going, you know, some date nights, and it doesn’t feel fair that Dan has to be one always doing it, not that he minds but still,” he was lucky they both amazing people by their side that were willing to help, sometimes Axel felt it did took a vilage. “I guess, and yes, you’re doing better I just don’t want you to put the idea completly aside because, like, you never know, right? I mean, after Danielle, I promised I wasn’t going to be dating anyone and here I am now, married, with a kid!” he chuckles, honestly, sometimes it all still felt like a dream, he was going to wake up and Nate wasn’t going to be there. “Really? well, he’s more of a fucking idiot than I thought, I don’t know what he expected, I mean, takes a lot be on good graces with an ex sometimes, especially after things end the way they did, see this is what pisses me off about him, you break up, its over and then he comes back acting all nice, like he doesn’t know what he really wants, it’s just...mix fucking signals!”

“it was one date. one! you’re acting like he asked me to marry him and thanks to you, i’ll never hear from him again.” maisie’s love life was a disaster and always would be. finding someone to date and being a single mom was not easy, that’s for sure. “i can’t see what, hunter?” she asked, throwing her hands up in the air and kicking her shoes off, which only made her smaller in comparison to him but that didn’t make her back down in any way. “you don’t want to see me go through what again? you weren’t even there. the part you saw was nothing compared to the way you really made me feel behind closed doors. i wanted to go out with you. i liked you and you basically spit in my face. i know i get attached easily, i know that and i know that i might put myself out there too much but all i’ve ever wanted was to find someone who cares about me the way i care about them. that’s why i left home. that’s why i’m here. my parents were trying to force me into an arranged marriage and i didn’t want to be forced into being with anyone who didn’t really care for me.” she paused her rant. “what? you-what? not willing to give me up?”

"Isn't that the point though? When you thought we... Its because you want more, not just a couple of dates, not just the sex, you want to actually find someone! Isn't that why you date?" He crosses his arms over his chest, Hunter knew he had no business sticking his nose on her love life, he didn't even had the guts to make any kind of move, and yet here he was with all these demands and questions. "Doesn't matter," he shook his head. "I didn't know that..." He mubbled quietly, "Well, don't you see it? When that guy screw you over, I'm the one that's going to be here! I'm that one that has to see you like that, and I don't want that. You think the only person I care for is myself, maybe Fran, but I care for you too. You're my friend and I... Its just not right. He's not right. But if it matters that much to you," he pauses, taking a deep breath, Hunter closed his eyes, God that was going to hurt so much to say, but maybe it was time to stop being selfish, She didn't like him that way. What was the point of all this? "Call him... Tell him, I'm a weirdo. Tell him... I don't know. Whatever... If you... Really think he's the guy. Its not like I could ever--" he cut himself off, eyes set on her, and for once, Hunter loses his words, "Yes? You're my friend. If you start dating, you're not gonna have time for me... And then this guy is gonna come on here, and.. be the man of the house. He's gonna be her dad. And she's mine. I know you rather jump off a clift than haivng a baby with me, but she's mine. My family was screwed up. I never knew what that mean, I do now, thanks to the both of you. I don't wanna lose that."

“ I would like to believe so since we are married and live in the same place.” Nate teases before kissing his husbands cheek.” You were right that is pretty cheesy but I like it. It’s sweet like you, love.”

He has to laugh at that, placing the flowers down, Axel puts his arms around his husband’s shoulders, “Even if we weren’t I’d still want to take you home, how could I fucking not, huh? always the prettiest guy around” He grin, taking his hand to his husband chin, lifting it up, he places another kiss on Nate’s lips. “I’m glad you do ‘cause like...I don’t see the cheese getting any better,” he jokes, grinning at his husband’s words. “Okay, do you mind waiting like 10 minutes? I’m all sweaty from the show, I need a quick shower and change of shirt, then you can take me home,” Axel pauses, his hand slowly making his way to his husband’s chest, “Or maybe...you wanna join me? don’t worry no one’s here and they sure fuck are not coming in my dressing room, you could help me reach the hard places...”

“i know i’m a mom! i know. i would never go out with anyone i wouldn’t want around my daughter.” maisie glared at him. hearing that he was only here for francesca was definitely like a punch in the gut because well, a part of her hoped that he cared about her too despite the fact that he was an idiot and he’d hurt her before. “what’s the difference? that’s all YOU wanted from me. you made me believe that you liked me and really, you just liked what you saw. you’re no better than the rest of them, hunter.” she replied, shaking her head at him. “but she’s not yours. she’s mine and you can’t control who i bring around my daughter.” 

“Then what is so good about him, huh? that he deserves you, that he deserves her? what makes him so fine, so--so right for you? what is it ?‘cause I honestly can’t see it!” well, if the being jealous wasn’t clear before, it was for sure slipping trough now. “I’m here aren’t I? after all this time, I’m still here, but you can’t just--you can’t see it!” he huffed out, honestly that was probably not making any sense to her, and he kinda wished he havne’t said it, it was a bit of a telling, “maybe I’m not, but I don’t wanna see you go trough that again! maybe me not being better than them makes me truly see what they are after!” he knew he was being unfair, he didn’t even knew the guy. “Well...I love her like she mine...” he mubbled, “And what? he’s gonna come in here, into your life and then what? where is that gonna leave me? as the babysiter? the one you call when you want to go out on dates?I’ve been here since day one, she’s not mine, but she feel like she is and I’m not willing to give yo--her up. It’s just..It’s not fair! I love that kid, I don’t deserve to be pushed away like this, for some.. boyband looking guy!”

maisie didn’t get it. he rejected her and now suddenly he was upset because she decided to date? it didn’t make sense. “obviously, you do. you didn’t even talk to him so you don’t know if he’s good or not. you can’t make assumptions off of the way people look, hunter.” she paused for a moment, narrowing her eyes. “i didn’t say you were jealous. a matter of fact, i never even mentioned jealousy. you did,” she crossed her arms over her chest, “are you jealous? you’re jealous, aren’t you? that’s gotta be it. you ruined my date because he’s not you. you-” she furrowed her eyebrows at she tried to properly gather her thoughts, “but it’s not really me you want, is it? you just don’t want some other guy to push you out of the picture because you’re attached to francesca. admit it.” she shoved him out of frustration but not hard. “just say it. tell me the truth.”

“I can and I will! he’s--he’s...not good, he doesn’t look right, there’s something off about him, I don’t like his vibe. Like I said, you’re mom a mom you need to watch out who you’re dating, you can’t just being a jerk into the house!” he actually had no clue if the guy was a jerk or not but he had to think of something, some kind of excuse, right? “I’m not! I--I...” Hunter’s heart raced at that, shit, oh no, oh she was onto something, this was not good, “Well, I--I...” he looked down as she pushed him, at least she only was only half true, but that was an outing! he was gonna take it, “Fine! is that what you want to hear? I don’t want some guy coming over here and acting like he cares for her, he doesn’t even know her! he just wants to get in your pants! that baby could had been my child!”

maisie could not believe this was happening right now. hunter was genuinely sabotaging her date and for what? she didn’t know. her urge to slap him was strong but she didn’t want to do that in front of the guy she’d just gone out with because she could only imagine how this all looked, especially with hunter’s arm around her. she couldn’t actually be more embarrassed than she was when he shooed her date and before he could do much more, she shoved hunter back inside and quickly followed without another word to the date he’d obviously just scared off. “what the hell is your problem, hunter? i finally got someone to go out with me and you-you completely embarrass me? what right do you have? you’re not my boyfriend, nor have you ever been because last time i checked, i was clingy. not every guy was going to want to marry me. do those words sound familiar?” she huffed. “who’s clingy now?”

Well at least the date was over, maybe it wasn’t really fair for him to be doing this, maybe he should learn to think before he acted, but well...here he was, and now she was angry, actually she was pretty pissed and honestly wouldn’t be the first he was the reason for her rage. “I don’t have a problem” he told her, fixing his shirt as she pushed him inside the door, “And he’s not good!”Hunter huffed, “He’s, he’s too tall, and, what’s with that hair? what, he thinks it’s 1997? come on!” there was nothing wrong with that guy, aside from the fact that he was dating her, that was is. “I’m not being clingy!! what you think I’m jealous? I’m not. I’m not jealous, I don’t even know what that word is! you’re--you’re a mom! you should... you know...not date jerks, I’m looking out for you,really, that guy is a jerk.”

eliza was listening to what he said and there was nothing she wanted more than to listen to him and do what made her happy but all she could think about was what he ex would think, what axel would think, what his parents would think. “all i’ve ever wanted is to make someone proud, you know that right?” she asked, looking over at him and letting her eyes land on axel’s. she smiled a little, “maybe you’re right. i think a clothing store would make me happy. i’ll see what i can find and i’ll let you know.” she was more than miserable at her receptionist job, that’s for sure. she nodded her head, “i know, i know. i just need more time. it’s not that easy to move over someone you fell in love with. you out of all people should understand that but i’m trying. maybe i should show up at his stupid party with a date and stick it to him. that’s what he deserves.”

“I know,” Axel said, moving closer, he placed both hands on her face, blue eyes focusing on her’s, “You make me proud, each day you get out of bed, each day you’re able to get the fucking shower, even if all you want to do is lay there and do nothing, you make me proud, and maybe I’m not the one you want to listen saying this but its true, you make me proud, maybe you’re not...you know fully sure what you want or what the fuck you’re gonna do next, but you make me proud, baby, I love you and I know how hard you try every day, and if that’s not a reason anyone should feel proud for, than I don’t know what is,” he smiled, moving closer and placing a kiss on her forhead, and he meant it, every word he said. “Yeah? alright! I think its something that fit you, and you can help your costumers dress, that sounds like fun!” he said, smiling back at her. “Oh, trust me baby, I understand! you know how long it took me to get over Dan, but that’s the thing, when you least expect, you’ll find your Nate,” he chuckled at her next words, “You should totally do that! I can ask around, maybe I’ll find some single friends waiting for a nice, fun night, huh? promise to flim his stupid fucking face when he sees it?”

travis nodded his head, “yeah. you ever had a tan in your life? i don’t think so. you ain’t got the tannin’ genes and you look like you’d burn in a heart beat. i’m just tryin’ to save ya some misery.” the man pointed out. he let him go on about the break up. if venting about it helped him then he definitely wasn’t going to stop him because all he wanted was to help the man move on. “is she with someone else or was it a one time thing?” he asked, glancing down at axel and pointing down at a different tool. “hand me that.” he requested and turned back to the engine. “i don’t think so. i think it really depends on your goals but no, if maia told me she didn’t want kids then i’d deal with it. i love her and that’s that but–” he gave him a stern look, “i haven’t told her that so don’t go on runnin’ your mouth.”

“Hey! listen!” Axel let out a laugh, “I come from a family of light eyes and light skinn, its not my fucking fault, besides while ya’ll were out there toasting in the sun and watching babes in bikinins I was fucking bleeding out my fingers trying to learn how to play the guitar so! Priorities,” he said with a shrug, he didn’t regret any of it, not one bit. He’d for sure do it again if he had to. “I don’t know, and I kinda don’t wanna know, I just,” he shook his head with a sigh, “I think it would fucking destroy me if she had someone already so soon, you know? so... I rather go on and not actually having to fucking see her, which leads me to the stop drinking because that leads me to the fights, the hospital and guess who’s a nurse there?” the whole finding her there was still very present in his mind, he didn’t want to have to go trough that again. He nodded his head, grabbing the tool as requested and handing it over. “See? so I’m not fucking insane, right? to think she doesn’t care for me as much as I thought she did? ‘cause like, if she loved me, I’d be enough, right? I’d be the one and going to some dude that can give her kids wouldn’t feel right, because, you know, it should be me. What we had, if she truly cared for me would had been enough, right?” he asked, all these questions kept running around on his mind, Axel run a hand trough his hair. “Oh you loooover her, that’s so cute!!” he teased, “What are you waiting for? dude, just fucking tell her!”

Hunter had accepted to babysit, mostly because he loved the baby, the idea of Maisie dating did not make him happy, not one bit, but he couldn’t really let her now, could he? after the way their relationship started he doubted she’d ever believe he actually had feelings for her, but then again Hunter was telling himself he didn’t had feeling for her. He stood and waited near the window, once the baby was asleep, so, maybe he couldn’t stop the date, but there was still something he could do about it, right? as he noticed them arriving it was time to move!

“Hey!!” Hunter said as he opened the door, the light from the hall shinning on them, “So how was the date? did you kids had fun?” he asked placing his arm around her, even if she looked like she was about to kill him, “Thanks for bringing her home safe and sound, you can go now. Go on,” Hunter said, making a shoo movement with his hands.

hunter’s reaction to her going on a date was…weird. she didn’t understand his sudden shift in mood and she didn’t understand why he’d even been against it. she almost wondered if he were jealous but she knew that couldn’t be it, especially not since he was the one that very much rejected her. she was coming back from her date with the guy, a smile on her face because she’d genuinely had fun with him. she stood in front of her door, looking up at him. “well, i had a lot of fun…” she breathed out, her hands clasped in front of her. her date smiled down at her, “i did too.” he replied and she watched as he moved in closer to her and began to lean down. this was it. he was doing to kiss her. that was, until the light was turned on and hunter opened the door. she glared and if looks could kill, hunter would be dead.

"Hey! I heard that, also got fucking good ears, you know?"Axel chuckles, "Its all part of the charm, baby, you should know by now," he teased them. "Yeah? And are you gonna take them? 'cause I know when you're doing something you like its really fucking hard to stop. I've had bloody fingers from guitar strings to prove it," he says making a face. "When is your next show?" He nods, "Are you sure? We can still go get a drink if you'd like, I'd join you with soda. Last time I had something to drink was probably my wedding, I had a pass on that one. Don't actually miss the booze, did nothing but fuck up my vocals, but sometimes just one drink does help at the end of a long day."
