In the first weeks of 1930, a slow passenger train rode through the desert hills of New Mexico. It had begun its journey in the city of New Orleans before heading north alongside the snaking brown waters of the Mississippi River.
From there it had stopped in St. Louis, Missouri before it turned back south, following old pioneer trails as it cut through the American Southwest on the way to its final destination in Los Angeles, California.
In one of the cars, the light, determined click of a woman's heels fell in line with the rhythm of the rails below her feet. The sound had defined her life for weeks, yet she found it just as droning now as the day she had first boarded the train. She made her way from her own cabin, where her niece and brother were spending the final hour of their journey, to the room where her soon to be sister-in-law was readying herself.
As she approached the door a rail attendant appeared in the car to alert the passengers, “Next stop Strangerville, New Mexico! All passengers ready your luggage! I repeat all passengers ready your luggage!”
Josephine increased her pace and rapped loudly on the door, wanting to ensure that her arrival could be heard above the railway attendant's call in the next car. A small voice told her to enter, barely audible alongside the thundering sound from below.
Josephine entered Zelda and Antoine's suite, which was larger than the one she had shared with Violette during the journey. Half smoked cigarettes and thrice-read books clattered against opulently carved woodwork bolted to the walls. Amidst it all stood Zelda in a white silk wedding dress, preoccupied with her reflection as she pinned a final curl in a perfect curve.
For a moment Josephine forgot the rail’s droning sound or the conductor’s hurried call, “Zelda, you….you look marvelous.”
Zelda turned briefly to acknowledge Jo’s presence, self consciously smoothing down the silk of her dress before she turned back to the mirror to fiddle with the clasp of her pearls, “Do I, truly? I’m afraid it’s quite old fashioned now, isn’t it? I suppose I should have gotten something new rather than just dyeing this old dress…”
Josephine walked over to her, taking the pearls from her shaking hands. As the car rattled on, she couldn’t tell if it was from the constant movement or her friend’s nerves. She spoke to her as she fastened the necklace, “It’s perfect, ma sœur, absolutely perfect. Are you ready? It’s time to put the luggage near the door; we’re the next stop.”
When Zelda didn’t answer Josephine turned her around, softening her face and her voice, “Zelda, you can talk to me, if you need to. Whatever it is. If you aren’t ready I’ll speak with Antoine. Whatever you need.”
Zelda looked at her curiously before an immense happiness overtook her face. She grabbed Josephine’s hands and smiled, “Jo, I’m only nervous because I’ve never been more ready for anything in my life. I’ve waited so long; we’ve waiting so long, it simply feels surreal. Like it’s impossible to feel so much happiness all at once without something going wrong.”
Josephine’s heart soared for her, and then sank as she realized that Zelda had learned to expect misfortune so much that she couldn’t even truly give herself over to excitement in that moment. “Zelda, everything will be wonderful, I promise you. You’ve been through enough, okay? Both of you. Today will be perfect.”

i feel like i made a mistake playing so far ahead of my decades challenge posts. like when i first started posting it i was in the 30s which wasnt too big of a gap but GIRL IM IN 1972 NOW AND MY LAST DECADES POST WAS IN THE 1910S. i am nothing if not a procrastinator so we shall see if i ever get around to uploading my insane backlog of screenies from literally 2 years ago at this point

Leg Braces for Children - BGC
I had been thinking about this for a while, but knew I had to try when the Medical Wearable CAS category was introduced. It involved a lot of learning, swearing, and working around tags that aren't properly supported in S4S and CASTools yet. Finally I have come up with two versions that actually function and looks fairly decent. Designed for the 1930s-40s.
What you need to know:
These braces can only be found in the body medical wearable category, so if you want to use them on a pre-existing Sim, you will need to enter cas.fulleditmode.
They are a full body outfit. Everything from the neck down is included, so you don't need tops, bottoms or shoes. They won't show up. However, accessories do work, such as socks.
The reason they are full body is because I needed the legs not to bend, which meant reassigning all the weights. This will cause the Sims to move strangely, such as hovering and using a scissors walk. See the pictures below the cut.
The girl's outfit is my Linda recital outfit turned into a dress. The shoes are all the same swatch. The boy's outfit is @twentiethcenturysims Goose Suit. The shoes have a few different swatches.
Because the braces are tied to the outfits, feel free to make mesh edits to mix it up. Just make sure you tag me and link back to this post!

AHHH IT WORKS !!!!
GSHADE 3.5.0 Cracked Tutorial Feb.2023
Alright with the recent events regarding the development team of GShade figuratively going under and the current version of this program available being far from perfect. It would be lovely to back to a version of GShade that doesn't have malware, the changes that disabled the depth of field effects, and the removal of some older shaders. So here's a tutorial on how to install 3.5.0 of GShade. It's the version that we as a collective switched to all those months back, when GShade popped off in the community. Also the version I used to take this picture and got from @toskasimz who sent me the files. She's the reason why I have my pretty pictures back. It took a long time to get my preset to look like this and the modern versions of Gshade and Reshade don't have the shaders for this anymore. The suggested skill level for this is basic knowledge of how to install Reshade/Gshade and knowledge of where to find the game Bin file and Program Files on your pc.
Note: This version is before the code that shut down your PC, if you manipulated the code of the program, was introduced. Use at your own risk. I personally have no issue with using it. I'm using my laptop I do school work on and I have no money to buy a new one so that's my assessment on how safe it is.
To start download this media fire file. It's a Rar file. Unzip it.
In the unzipped version of this file, you should have a folder that's highlighted below called GShade.
Inside that file are two folders. Program Files-G-Shade and TS4 Bin Folder. These folder names correspond with where the contents of these will go on your pc.
Alright inside the folders you should have the following content in the Program Files-G-Shade
Inside the TS4 Bin Folder, you should have the following contents inside it.
Place the GShade folder from the Program Files-G-Shade into your computer's Program(x86) file. This may have a different name based on your computer.
Next Place the contents of the TS4 Bin Folder which should be the G-Shade configuration file and the folder of GShade-Shaders into your Bin folder. (note I have gshade installed already so you won't have the extra files before installation.)
Now go back to the Program(x86) file on your PC and go into the G-shade folder.
Double Click to run the program.
This is where you gonna need to pull your Reshade/Gshade knowledge. You just install the program as normal to the game. I will say I don't know if this will work with other games.
Alright, this is what you should be left with after installing G-Shade. Everything transferred to the Program Files with the exception of this folder. Leave it be and go to the Program Files file on your pc.
Once in the Program Files folder double click the GShade Control Panel.
You should get the following screen Go to the Installations tab. Delete this file path. This is a very important step. It's not gonna work if you don't reinstall the program. Delete it and click Add New.
Install the program as viewed above. Click Next and set up your screenshot folder.
Click No on viewing the guild. You should have a control panel on your desktop. You can go in a convert you reshade presets if needed.
Alright if everything was done correctly open your game. It'll take a moment to load and when it does you greeted with the following screen on start-up.
Ignore the yellow text on the top. It says that your effects are disabled because it's not online. It works I could be misinterpreting what "effect" means but my shader work so I'm not complaining.
And there you go. Installed, and works perfectly. Don't update it. I don't know what it'll do. I have not tried. I will upload an edited version of my preset later this week or tonight. I have to tweak the color of the fog and make a decent post. Enjoy! I am open to helping under this post and in dms!

Staring with a birthday?? i would never !!
Anyways Edwin celebrated his 18th birthday :)
Not much news from the Elkins household apart from Vincent aging up and being the cutest little ginger.
Back on the Lovings farm they bought a cow! Meet Gertrude.
While Joey was out tending to the garden and the animals Emilie went into labor.
Cecil Lee Lovings was born in the summer of 1913!
Of course aunt Dorothy was the first to come visit her new nephew (needs to make sure they know from the start who their favorite aunt is)
Even with a new baby, Emilie loved helping around the farm (specifically with the animals). The animals just seemed to love her !
To celebrate the new baby, Joey and Emilie threw a small dinner party with the family. Despite it being a celebration for Cecil,,, he remained upstairs, sleeping soundly.

okay so im in need of some cc help! i unmerged all my build cc (10 gigs worth) so i could organize it and i JUST finished but theres about 30 files that i can NOT figure out what they are
as you can see all the files are only 1KB and when i open them in s4s they all look generally like this. just that light type file or whatever that is idk shit about cc. anyways im wondering if its okay to just delete these files? any help would be appreciated !!
