one time my dad gave me a glass of milk and i meant to ask him “who’s milk is this” because i wasnt sure if it was for me or if i was supposed to give it to my brother but instead i just stared down at the milk and said “who’s this”
then my dad turned to me without missing a beat and said “that’s your new friend mr. milk.” and we stared at each other and then he asked me if i was high

-I have no friends my own age
-Most people I meet don’t know I exist
-Doctors try to get rid of me

New alters/headmates split due to the inability to process or integrate trauma or no current alters are capable of handling the situation
Meaning that new splits are caused by trauma/acute stress/reintroduction of trauma
Alters/headmates do not split without reason
You cannot create new alters/bring new alters into the system by choice
New splits take time (from experience, generally weeks)
Fictives are not fictionkin
Fictives are not alters who are kin with a specific character
Alters are not the only symptom of DID/OSDD-1b
BPD cannot cause the formation of a system
Schizophrenia cannot cause the formation of a system
Being part of a system is more than just “feeling like a different person”
One singular traumatic event does not cause DID
