OH this is so good!!!! i especially love how this ties into my headcanon of hunk as the team diplomat. he has a sixth sense of who’s trustworthy but also he always puts aside his personal problems with someone for the sake of diplomacy. it doesn’t matter that this pampered royal doesn’t understand basic engineering but you bet your ass hunk WILL be complaining about it to allura later!!

also the idea of hunk opening up and being bitchy with the team as a sign of trust and love. he trusts that they won’t think of him as an awful evil person for expressing annoyance!!! so he’s gonna tell them their breath stinks ^_^

and YES pidge being his opposite with how blunt she is. why think something about someone and then not say it to them?? of course someone like her— who just works with tech and never with people— doesn’t care about good impressions or manners. technology doesn’t care that she calls codes ugly why do people care 🙄

and it’d obviously go too far sometimes and hurting the feelings of someone she cares about or royally fucking up a mission. she learns from hunk how to save thoughts until the person isn’t right in front of her. it wouldn’t happen often but she’d hold her tongue when needed <3

i can so clearly see the two of them venting about some annoying person while in the lab together. i love these two haters <3

Because I'm super about there being more in depth conflict and difference to explore between Hunk and Pidge and since @alluraaaa 's post about the fact that Hunk is the sort of person to have this inner world of thoughts, to be short tempered and sometimes mean and it contradicts his internal morals too so he puts up this face of how he's supposed to act and talk to people it's got me thinking about how this conflicts with Pidge.... (and a potential arc for growth between them)

Pidge strikes me as the opposite to Hunk in this regard. She has absolutely no need to have a conflict of internal morals vs internal thoughts because for her they don't conflict, she says what she thinks when she thinks it and frankly doesn't see why that should ever be a problem because she's "right anyway", and this must frustrate the hell out of Hunk, cause NO! Absolutely not! This goes against how he views the way you should interact with people.

But as far as Pidge is concerned, the way Hunk goes about things is more dishonest to who he is. Why shouldn't he be annoyed when people are being stupid? Why shouldn't he just be blunt when he's right?

Meanwhile Hunk needs Pidge to understand more about tact, how sometimes compromise or putting on a face or working against his instinct can sometimes be a good thing

Resulting in a arc where Pidge tries her damndest to annoy Hunk into expressing to her that he is annoyed and push him to see the benefits of just being more blunt occasionally and along side it where Hunk implores her to see the benefits of looking for the emotional context or nuances in situations, and giving people grace even when they annoy the absolute shit out of you and them both learning from each other about this.

(alternatively an arc between two opposite depictions of autistic people trying to understand the others autism - masker vs nonmasker)

They play tag around the castle. It’s not even a cute silly game like they murderously chase each other through the halls like their life depends on it. It’s more exhausting than training.

Keith is such a lowkey/casual romantic. Like when Lance initiates things he’ll just be like 🧍like:

Lance is hundred percent the guy to scream “that’s my boyfriend!!” Whenever Keith does Any accomplishments

They are so bad at sharing a bed like cuddling will be cute until they’re actually asleep and then there’s just kicking in their sleep or someone lands on top of the other or whatever

Keith picks up lingo from Lance. Like catch Keith in his sassy era

As loud as Lance is, he’s observant. He’ll notice when Keith hadn’t eaten or slept too much or if his head isn’t in the game. He won’t even say anything, he’ll just do something that slightly makes it better

Keith doesn’t snack a lot but Lance does so he carries snacks for him

Lance makes Keith waltz with him when they’re alone and there’s no fighting. Just them alone in the castle dancing. Lance is not a very good waltzer. Keith is even worse.

They try new hobbies together.

i’m so lesbian kallura brained now. keith and allura both seeing something incredibly relatable in each other but neither sure how to put their fingers on it. them both being unable to sit still when there’s a whole war going on so they’re both always training, which becomes them training together. as they grow physically closer they become emotionally closer. keith opening up about how he thinks he might be a girl, allura opening up and asking for comfort/advice on grieving her parents’ deaths. both of them able to help with what the other needs. trading words and fleeting glances while sprawled out on the training deck floor and exhausted. taking post training naps together which becomes bed sharing which becomes more intimacy keith has ever had and more feeling of safety that allura has had since waking up from cryosleep. which becomes a romance… i love lesbian kallura so much does anyone else get it can anyone hear me

hunk and allura are both tied for first place in the “best person in the universe” competition. keith knows this and acts accordingly. allura ALSO knows this and acts accordingly (smugly). hunk knows this too but is kinda sheepish about it. very much “aww you’re sweet but i’m not sure i’m that great 😅” (his humbleness is part of his perfection). hunk and allura also are the team diplomats as well as the team gossips. it’s a fun combination. (keith doesn’t understand gossip. if you don’t like someone just say it to their face??)

keith and allura share a love of violence and combat. neither can sit still while a literal war is happening so they keep themselves and each other busy by training. hitting each other is their love language. hunk also gets anxious about the state of the universe but he stress bakes about it. the clear cut instructions and pre-measured portions make sense to him when nothing else will. and after hitting each other for hours keith and allura end the training session by eating whatever hunk made. it’s always delicious

all three of them are meangirls. meangirlism isn’t gendered but rather a state of mind. hunk and allura are both aware of the fact that they’re the most skilled people in any room and both come off as condescending as a result. but it’s not on purpose. okay maybe sometimes allura does it on purpose. and keith is a meangirl in the sense that he’s just a cunt. basically it’s “you can’t sit with us (we’re better than you)” vs “you can’t sit with us (i don’t like you)” either way you can’t sit with the three of them

in my brain there’s a three way venn diagram of keith, hunk, and allura having way more in common than you’d think at first glance. i just have to create it

some people write allura too sickeningly sweet and seem to forget her first lines in the entire show are her essentially roasting lance for having what she saw as a deformity

The team go to a planet that insist they spend time in their markets. Not wanting to be rude, they comply and find themselves having an amazing time even if they can’t afford anything on offer. Unbeknownst to them, the inhabitants of the planet can sense desire and know what things the team wishes to own. That night when they get to the banquet they find several chest all coloured to their lions (or for Coran and Allura, their hair). They each open their boxes to find the things they wished for, all for them o take home as the leaders of the planet explain. For Hunk it’s a lot of spices, cook books, mechanical tools and an u a dance of seeds and little nuts and bolts. The Pidge it’s, unsurprisingly, a lot of little bits of technology they probably don’t even know the mechanics of and several books the size of their torso. For Keith there are plenty of weapons but also some clothes, like jackets and gloves, as wl as some plush toys he quickly hides from the others view. For Shiro it’s a mix of reading material, a few interesting gadgets and a large telescope they looks very much like a Earth one. Coran doesn’t show his, preferring to keep it to himself for unknown reasons. Allura has a lot decorative items, which Coran whispers to them is because she’s always hated how bare the castle is without people filling it. She also has plenty of things they couldn’t recognise or understand due to their human lifestyles. It’s Lance’s that surprises them all the most. To Hunk and Pidge it’s not all that surprising, so they don’t stare like the others. But the rest do, all taken aback as Lance shifts through several gorgeous dresses, make up tools, heeled shoes and more Hewlett-Packard than they even knew was on offer. He of course has other things like books and things that look like shells and dream catchers, yet the others can’t pay that any kind. Lance looks so happy and comfortable as he looks over the feminine clothing with a longing and hope in his eyes. Wanting to make sure he knows he’s accepted for his taste, Shiro tells him his choices are beautiful and will suit him wonderfully. Lance grins so wide his eyes close. From then on Lance is comfortable to do his own make up and dress as he likes outside of missions, especially when Allura ask for help with her own style, used to amiss helping her chose. Lance finds himself feeling more accepted than he ever thought he could.
