summary: everyday you send letters to mikey ever since he vanished without notice, but one day, you don't send a letter again

[Hi, Mikey! How have you been? It's been 12 years since you've been gone, and since I've been sending these letters to you. Hina and Takemicchi just got married!

I remember us talking about them getting married someday, and in the blink of the eye, it happened already. Time flows by so quickly, right?

You know... When Hina threw her bouquet, I catched it. I didn't mean to catch it, it just went into my arms! It's impossible to think about, though. I don't think I'll be married soon...

Takemichi is looking for you, please don't do anything bad to him. He just wants you to come back, all of us does.

Well, I have to go... Goodbye, Mikey. I'll send you a letter tomorrow too! And if you can, send one back! I would be very happy! I love you.]

It's been a week since you sent that letter to Mikey. It's been seven days ever since. When are you going to send another one? Mikey thought as he held the last letter you sent in his hand.

When you first sent him letters, he was frustrated. Why were you sending him letters? You should be forgetting about him, right?

He didn't read them—worst, he made Sanzu burn all of them, everyday. He even got to the point where he would rip it himself. That's how much he wanted you to stay away from him.

He didn't want you to be connected with him. He didn't want you to care. You would just get in trouble because of him—he's no good for you, he's no good for any of you. He has lost so many loved ones in his life, if you... No, he can't even bring himself to think about it.

But you grew on him—you sent him letters everyday, and there were no signs of you stopping. So he let you be. He finds a time to read your letters everyday, but he made sure to have high security. He can't risk it.

It became his comfort. He looked forward to your letters everyday. He could even find himself smiling at times, when you would tell him everything that's been happening. Draken and Inupi working together, Chifuyu and Kazutora opening a pet store—and so much more. This is what he wanted, that's why he went away; so you guys can live a peaceful life—without him.

Times like these, he wished he was normal. He wished everything was okay. He wished he was there to see with his very own eyes, Hina and Takemichi getting married—he can see with his very own eyes how this future formed. He wished he was there—but he can't.

Someone knocked on the door of his office making him snap our of his thoughts. He stared as Bonten's number 2 come in after knocking three times. What the man said made his heart drop.

"She's.. dead, boss. We found her body hidden so well deep in the forest, they must've saw one of her letters and found her, boss. I'm very sorry..."

All Mikey saw was darkness. He knew it. Someone died again because of him. He should've known better. He wished you weren't so stubborn, sending him letters everyday. He wished you just forgot about him and married someone who would love you better than he did. If only... If only he controlled his urges... If only he could've done something.

If only...

Oh so suddenly, he found himself sitting in a lake as he hears screaming and burning from beside him. He killed them—all of them. Of course he couldn't just let them die that easily, he let them scream as fire enters their body and swallow them whole.

"Please! Spare us!"

He can only watch as the water flows the lake peacefully. Sometimes, there would be flames that would lay in the water. How dare they ask to be spared, when they didn't spare you?

In a very long time, he felt hot liquid flowing down his eyes. What were your last words? Were you happy dying? Where are you now? Are you watching over him?

"Can you forgive me Y/N? You died because of me. It's all my fault."

He felt more emptier than he did—he was a living black hole. He can only hear the faint last beatings of his heart as he walked in the lake, and became one of it.

Finally, he can live in peace with you.

a/n: fluff because the manga has been depressing recently :')

You wrap your arms around Mikey's waist tighter, your cheeks pressing more on his uniform; knuckles turning white. Your eyes are shut closed, yelling on the top of your lungs, "Mikey, slow down!"

You felt Mikey's stomach move as he laughs, "You're such a scaredy cat, Y/N!" he teases. You would've smacked his head if it wasn't for the deadly situation you're in.

"Is that the fastest you guys can go?" Draken yells as he catches up. You could hear Emma screaming at Draken to slow his bike down – hearing Draken laugh afterwards.

This was another night of Draken and Mikey bonding with each other, forgetting about the problems that are rising. You and Emma was quietly shopping when they invited the both of you to join them.

And of course, both of you can't say no to your boyfriends. Oh, how wish you did.

"Tch!" Mikey accelerates his bike, moving it faster like light of speed, laughing when he hears you cursing him under your breath.

In the end, you were a vomiting mess; but you were glad that he was happy. Mikey was happy, and that's all it matters.
