You're preparing for the event, which requires formal clothes.

You're watching how Levi is trying to fix his white ascot. He's been fighting with that piece of fabric for a few minutes now, still not satisfied with the result. You can almost sense his frustration in the air. You always can. And you also know that he won't ask you for help. His pride will never allow him.

You're getting up from the chair and coming closer. You look at his mirror image, your eyes meet, and you smile a little before speaking:

“Let me help you.”

Levi doesn't say a word, but he turns to you, giving you a free hand. You focus on the task, and slowly take care of this, everything must be perfect, the way he likes it.

You feel his eyes on you, focused the same way on your beauty as you're on the ascot. You're almost blushing; even after all this time, his gaze makes you feel weak on your knees.

When you've done, you look at him, putting your hand on his cheek and tracing his scars with your thumb.

“You look really handsome,” you whisper.

“Tch...” You know Levi resists the urge to roll his eyes.

“I mean it!” You assure him, and to confirm it, you give him a sweet kiss. You feel how he relaxes at the touch of your lips.

And when you pull away, you see he's even more handsome than before. His skin gains some color, and he has happy sparkles in the eyes.

“We should go,” he says. “We can't be late.”

You nod. Levi takes the cane in one hand, and he gives you the free arm. You grab it, and both of you leave the room, looking like the most beautiful couple in the world.

Counting down the days!

I kind of wish there would be something, even a little bit, about post war Levi. Because the upcoming childhood chapter may not be very “lighthearted.”

I was thinking. I was thinking what it would be like if you confessed to Levi. Because like...my bro will literally PANIC. I mean sure. He's a pretty man. Girl's are always clinging onto him. Love confessions are a daily thing. Random sappy letters or gifts left on his desk from people he doesn't even know. But then it's you. Nuh uh. Nope. Because you're so perfect to him right? You're pretty and smart and confident and you're so fun to be around but he's so fucking grumpy. Why on earth would you like him? He's just glad he exists in the same world you do, damn he's fucking grateful. And you're even friends with him, you spend so much time with him what else would he want from you right? He wants many many many things from you but he will not think about that.

Imagine you liking him. No? What? But then you're in his office and you're telling him you have something important to tell him but then you start saying things that he literally cannot comprehend why would you like him what do you mean you like him you're insane you're confused what the hell are you talking about? Levi would straight up go “No, you don’t.” with the deadest expression when you finally tell him you like him. He panics okay. DEADASS. There’s no other way to say it. He’s like all cool and calm and composed and he’s staring at you with blank gray eyes and inside he’s like wtfwtwfwtfdoirunawayiwannarunawaywhatdoidoineedfoureyestodealwiththiswtf Avoids you for the rest of the day…or life. You will have to go to the most insane extent to get him to speak to you again (With a little bullying from Hange) and talk about it. Because he’ll refuse to talk about it and pretend it never happened. When you do confront him to talk about it and like clear things though, he’s like…’’Okay’’. Absolute dumbfuck. (He will never never never ever directly admit his feelings for you, BUT you'll know it's a yes because he will slowly, carefully, cautiously slid his fingers between yours and squeeze your hand. Just. ever. so. slightly.)

AU Underground Levi

You made your way to the dining hall, the clatter of dishes and the low murmur growing louder as you approached. You filled two plates with breakfast, planning to bring one back for Levi when you felt a tap on your shoulder.

"Good morning!" Hange greeted, a bit too cheerfully for the early hour. "I was looking for Levi; they're usually up by now. Is he alright?"

You nodded, trying to suppress a smile. "He's fine, just still sleeping."

Hange's eyebrows shot up in surprise, their grin widening. "Sleeping? Levi? That's unheard of! They usually beat the sun to rising... What could possibly have tired our dear Levi out?" they teased.

You nodded, chuckling softly at their reaction. "Yeah, I guess he needed the rest."

Before you could excuse yourself, footsteps approached, and Levi himself entered the dining area, his hair slightly ruffled but his expression as composed as ever.

Hange's grin turned positively devilish as their eyes darted between the two of you. "Ah, there he is! Good morning, Levi!" Hange sang, the tease in their voice is unmistakable. "Decided to grace us with your presence after a long night's rest, I see. Anything... special happened to contribute to your beauty sleep?"

Levi shot them a look that could freeze boiling water. "Don't you have better things to do, Hange?" he retorted.

"Oh, I do, I do," Hange chuckled. "But teasing you is just too much fun, especially now that I have new material." Levi's gaze flickered to you briefly, a look that said, we’ll talk about this later. Hange laughed, clapping their hands together. "Oh, this is rich! Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. Enjoy your breakfast, lovebirds." They walked away, still chuckling to themselves.

Levi approached you, his gaze softening when he looked at you. "Ignore them," he muttered, taking the plate you held out for him. "Thank you for this." You couldn’t help but let out a laugh at the entire reaction.

Monday.

Post War Levi thought:

Trying to coax him out of bed one day and it’s challenging. He’s always up before you but today he’s still in his room. You go to check on him and he’s asleep and since that’s rare you let him sleep in. Hours pass and you become worried, thinking he’s sick so you knock on the door to check on him. He grants you permission to come in and you go to sit next to him on his bed. You check for a fever by gently touching his forehead, pushing his hair back and then his neck.

No fever, you ask how he’s feeling. He just makes a sour face and gives no answer. You don’t pry but you do suggest getting out of bed might make him feel better. Maybe sit outside and enjoy the breeze? His garden needs tending too as well perhaps he can occupy himself with that for a bit while you wash some clothes. You talk to him gently and caress his back. He lets out a sigh and looks at you and while you don’t know this and can’t tell his heart is exploding for you. He’s so utterly grateful for you, how you don’t give up on him and understand him. You give him his space every time he needs it but you also offer support to be there with him.

He sits up and you’re both now sitting next to each other with your arms touching. You stare at each other for a moment before you both rest your heads on one another. You letting him know that you’re there for him and him thanking you. Words don’t need to be said all the time between you two, you just get it. That’s how strong your bond is. Levi is grateful to have someone like you by his side, grateful that he’s allowed to have a bad day without having to push it all down and focus his duty as a soldier, focus on surviving.

The rest of the day goes by slow, he tends to his garden and then goes to sit on the porch with a book and enjoy the breeze. You were right, he does feel a little better now. He watches you tend to your own garden, but your is exclusively flowers. He loves how excited you get when a flower bud opens up to a bright and colorful flower. You make his days better and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
