Adding to this post about Chandler being in love with Monica before the show even started, now that I'm thinking about it, I think a part of Monica might have been in love with him, too.

It's just... they are so comfortable with each other, in ways few friends, even best ones, are.

I don't mean to diminish the importance of friendship or say that "men and women can't be friends" (even if we take Friends for example, you have Phoebe and Joey, Chandler and Rachel, Joey and Rachel before they fell in love, all of those friendships are strong and important), no, not at all, but specifically in this case, I think they both have been in love with each other for a while but didn't think the other was interested, so they never mentioned it / acted upon it.

That's why their transition from friends to lovers went so smoothly - it wasn't the case of them suddenly developing new feelings towards each other, suddenly realizing what they feel towards each other is more than friends' love, the feelings were always there, they just found out they were reciprocated.

It is my belief that Chandler has lowkey been in love with Monica for a while before the show even started.

He never acted upon it because he thought she wasn't interested and deserved much better than him, so he resolved himself to the role of the friend that will always be there for her.

It's in the little things, you know?

The way he looks at her sometimes or the way he comforts her or some of his reactions, especially to her love life...

And all those hypotheticals? His offer to make a pact that they'll get together and have a baby if they're both single by the time they are forty? Him telling her he will date her when Monica is upset she will die an old maid after her breakup and him being upset over Monica thinking it's a joke and saying she wouldn't date him and pestering her with hypotheticals until she says she would?

He has been in love with her for a looong time, peeps.

I don't know if the writers planned for Monica and Chandler to get together from the very beginning or Matthew and Courtney just had such insane chemistry that they made it look that way, but Monica and Chandler are the true soulmates, destined-to-be-together of the show.

Another "fun" fact: their baby boy is putting everything he can get his hands on in his mouth, and I mean everything... including his father's vapes. And that piece of... idiot lets him!

More than that, he told me casually, as if it's not a big deal, that their baby boy once inhaled the vape! Played with it, played with it, chewed it, chewed... and inhaled.
