Witchy Tip
If you’re a green witch that has a hard time when you’re not around nature get a small bottle and put some of the things from your favorite forest spot, like dirt, a pinch of moss, small twigs, then turn it into a necklace. This helps you have a bit of nature where ever you go and is calming when you feel uncomfortable in a city area.

Stones to Ward Off Fae
Tumblr media
Iron is a common way to ward off the fae and can be found in some crystals and gemstones. These stones can be warn in your pocket, put in a sachet, placed by windows, doors, and in the corners of a room to ward it, or can be warn as jewelry to keep the fae away. Or, you could avoid these stones if you want to interact with fae!
Hematite
Pyrite
Black tourmaline
Rubellite (pink or red) tourmaline
Hypersphene
Peridot
Nephrite
Rhodonite
Amethyst
Carnelian
Citrine
The first three have the highest iron content (it’s in their chemical formulas) so they make the strongest wards. It’s interesting to note that the last three actually have the same chemical formula (SiO2), the difference in color comes mainly from trace minerals and the specific type of iron included (ferric vs ferrous vs iron compounds)

once a lady told me that if my plants are dying even when I’m caring for them correctly, it means they’re absorbing the curses my enemies are casting upon me. so now when my plants randomly die, I wonder if they died protecting me.

Thank you! I'll look into these!
oops
I was straightening up my room and I stepped on one of my mirrors.
it was cracked and used when I got it, but now its broken into three pieces: one large with another crack going through the middle partially and two smaller nearly uniform pieces?
I’ve never believed in the 7 years bad luck superstition and I never got around to using it for anything witchy yet so I’m not worried about like, anything I used it for being undone or released or whatever… BUT
-should do anything just in case?
-are there any ideas for what I could use these broken pieces for?
-should I just toss out the shards?

WITCH’S SIGIL WHEEL
Decide on a word that resembles what you want to accomplish, such as LOVE, HEALTH, or PROTECTION. Then, starting from the first letter trace the letters of your word in a straight line from one to another, ending with the last letter of your word. If you want, you can connect the last line back to the first to create a closed shape, or leave it as an open one.
When you’re finished, you have a simple sigil then can be etched into a candle and burnt down, or you can write it down on paper and add it to a small bottle or pouch with herbs.

Witches Salt
Witches Salt, or Black Salt, is a very cheap and powerful ingredient in protection spells. It has independent origins in Hoodoo, Western Alchemy, Appalachian Folk Magic and European folk magic, and is made of ingredients friendly to even the tightest budget.
Combine coarse salt (purifying), black pepper (protection from bad people), cast iron scrapings (protection from bad spirits/Faeries), campfire/wood ashes (concealing and protecting) and ground-up charcoal (filters bad magic), in varying measures until you have a nice, black salt.
Tip: Add a protective sigil to the container you keep it in.
Try using it for things like:
-Draw lines across your windows and doorways to keep out bad magics/people  -Mix it in water and pour it over your car tires to protect your car -Put it in a sachet along with other protective herbs, and hang it somewhere to protect that area -Pour a pile under your bed to protect you from nightmares/bad spirits

Quartzbound’s Home Protection Ritual
So I just moved to a new city, about a month ago. I’m not staying long enough to get a proper lease, so I’ve been subletting through Airbnb and it sometimes makes me really uncomfortable not knowing who else has keys to my apartment. I’m also pretty unaccustomed to living on my own since my partner and I have been living together for nearly 2 years, so this particular move has been particularly disorienting. Fortunately I was finally in a good place to start creating demonic sigils, so I gave it a whirl with some pretty ironclad wards. There were a lot of decisions that were a bit personal to keep this ~mine~ but the process seems pretty generalizable so I wrote it up. The whole thing from start to finish takes a couple of hours depending on your candle and the state of your apartment, but feels pretty damn satisfying.

Quick N’ Dirty Protection Wards for Resisting the Power
All right, fellow Witches. I know things have been tumultuous, and it’s a very scary time to be in the United States. I’m back to being an uninsured American, and am watching my home state fight against a death sentence due to climate change. As a person of color, and a mixed race person, I feel like the need to ward up, protect yourself (no matter who you are), and resisting is of utmost importance. I wanted to share some magical methods of protection you can use.
1. Jar of Security: Create an adapted version of the traditional witch’s bottle. Place traditional ingredients for protection and warding in a bottle or jar - in this case, the nastier the components, the nastier the retribution on the one who crosses it. You’re gonna want nails, you’re gonna want spit (you’re gonna want to be safe about biohazardous ingredients), you’re gonna want irritating peppers and much gnashing of teeth. Finish the spell by putting the cork/lid back on, sealing it with wax (I recommend going with the retribution/fire theme and using red). Place it outside your front door, or near your room door, depending on where you live; hiding it might be a good idea. Bam, you’ve got one more shield up.
2. Ward your Room: Create a quick stone seal for your room by tying a rope or string around a stone for protection. Hematite would be a good choice, or bloodstone, or obsidian. Hold the stone and envision a stone barrier, with a stone gate, protecting your living space. Hang the stone behind your door, and use it to swing the ward open and shut when your door opens and shuts.
3. Sigil Up: Take a white candle and inscribe sigils on doorframes and window frames for reflective magic, protection, warding, and marking your territory using the white wax. It’ll be hard to read, but seals up the entrances and exists to define your space.
4. Purge: Write grievances onto small papers, and burn them in a heatproof container. Works great as a daily purifying ritual, and also has the added bonus of frying your grievance’s subject.
5. Armor Up: A classic but just as effective as ever. Craft a set of “armor” for yourself by visualizing a set of armor, or outfit, that makes you feel powerful. Now, actually moving your hands, put on the armor when you need it, before you leave the house, or when you need extra support. Crafted “psychic armor” can be taken on or off as you need.
6. Dissuade Idle Gossip: Or, “silence untrue rumors and words”, which is a lot less snappy - this is essentially prevention for slander and mud-raking. Place a single castor bean in a small bottle/jar, and seal. Keep sealed for use. Use a coffee bean instead for the economic witch, use a juniper berry for added protection.
7. Shield of Black Wax: Keeping a black candle burning is a super easy way to put up a shield of absorption while you’re working magic. As far as precautions go, you can just plug in and go.
You now have the tip of the iceberg of an arsenal of protective and reflective methods at your hands - now, work your magic from your vantage point! Get creative! Resist!!
Other non-witchy things you could do from said vantage point include calling your representatives and speaking out on issues, such as Trump’s cabinet appointments or the restart on both pipeline projects, or the silencing of the EPA, or releasing his tax returns… the list is endless! If phone calls aren’t your bag, write postcards to your representatives. Donate to Planned Parenthood! Volunteer your time! Run for local office! Make art, and donate the proceeds! Punch a Nazi in the face!!!

Magical herbal DIY’s for every part of your precious body.
For the witches (or anyone else) who are into herbs and smelling good.
The magical attributes of the DIY’S according to the herbs used are highlighted in the contents section below in brackets. You can choose one or multiple attributes to focus on while using these products to match your intent.
Tumblr media
Contents:
1. Floral facial steam: Leaves your face feeling fresh AF, smelling good. (Protection, love, centering and psychic power)
2. Rose & chamomile bath bags: Relaxing AF, smells good, SUPER CLENSING. (Protection, centering and meditation)
3. Clay and Lavender face mask: We all know clay is dope for our skin, and lavender can never go wrong. (Peace, protection, love, purification)
4. Peppermint foot scrub: Leaves your feet feeling and smelling FIIIINEEE. (Travel, money, healing, luck, strength)
LETS GET STARTED
1. Floral facial steam
Tumblr media
YOU WILL NEED (The ingredients below are per 6 treatments so multiply it for as many treatments as you’d like):
-3 100ml jars
-2/3 cup of lavender buds, dried
-1/3 cup of rose petals, dried
-2/3 cup chamomile flowers, dried
METHOD:
Mix up the herbs ad divide them into each jar (roughly half a cup each)
HOW TO USE:
• Remove make up or dirt by using a gentle cleanser • Place herbs in a heatproof bowl (use 4 tablespoons herbs per treatment – each jar is enough for 2 treatments) • Pour one pint of boiling water into a heat proof bowl (USE MOON WATER FOR EXTRA BENEFITS) • Place bowl on a sturdy surface (like a table) and lower face over the bowl (it’s usually best to sit in a chair that is pulled up close to a table) • Place a towel over your head to create a tent over the bowl (the towel helps the steam stay close to the face and not evaporate into the air so quickly) • Stay here for about 15 to 20 minutes- while you are here start by centring yourself, and then think about your intent and what you wish for the herb to bring to you, imagine the steam cleansing away any negativity.
BOOOM YOU ARE NOW CLEANSED AF AND SMELLING CUTEEEE.
2. Rose & chamomile bath bags
Tumblr media
YOU WILL NEED (The ingredients below are per 3 treatments so multiply it for as many treatments as you’d like):
-3 Muslin bags
-¾ cup dried rose petals
-¾ cup dried chamomile flowers
-1 ½ cup epsom salts
METHOD: Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl. Place 1 cup of mixture in each muslin bag. Tie the top of each bag to close tightly.
HOW TO USE:
To use bath tea bag, tie bag to faucet so the water runs through it as the bath fills. Once the bath is full of warm water, remove the bag from the faucet and let it float in the bath. Soak for at least 15 minutes - while doing so, remember to relax, centre yourself, remember your intent and what you wish to get out of this treatment and imagine the salts and hot water clensing away any negative energy.
BOOOOM NOW U R CLENSED AF AND SMELLIN FRESH
3. Clay and Lavender face mask
YOU WILL NEED (once again makes 3 , adjust to your liking):
-3 100 ml jars
-½ cup lavender flower powder
-1 1/8 cup white cosmetic clay
METHOD:
Mix up and divide into jars, roughly half a cup per jar.
HOW TO USE:
At time of use, mix 1 tablespoon of lavender-clay mix with 2-3 teaspoons of water, cooled chamomile tea, or hydrosol, until a paste forms. Spread over the face, avoiding the eyes. Leave for 15 minutes. This mask draws out toxins and negative energy so make sure to visualise the clay mask absorbing the negative energy for maximum effect, meanwhile, pour your intent into this procedure and absorb the lavender and mother earth’s clay into your system. Wash off with warm water and a wash cloth.
BOOOM yo face is untoxic AF super clensed, and smelling damn fineeee.
4. Peppermint foot scrub
What you need (MAKES 3):
-3 250-300(ish)ml jars
-1/3 cup fine sea salt or epsom salt
-¾ cup oil (grapeseed, sweet almond or olive)
-Few drops peppermint essential oil
-¼ cup dried peppermint leaves
METHOD:
Mix ingredients in bowl, divide into jars, roughly 1 cup per jar.
HOW TO USE:
Rub into damp foot in circular motions. Our feet pick up alot of negative energy, and are important because they take us places in the physical world, make sure to focus on your intent and drawing out the negative energy.
AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! YOU SMELL FRESH FROM HEAD TO TOE, CLENSED THOROUGHLY, EVERY PART OF YOUR BODY, LOVED!
Happy witching

Quick Protection Ward
This is going to be a quick warding charm to protect your house or your room. I remember someone taught it to me when I was younger but I don’t remember who. Anyway, all you need is:
A small glass jar or vial with a lid
Salt, Caraway seeds, or beans (I like rosary beans).
Black ribbon or cord (optional)
Make sure you have enough supplies for both entrances to your house (or just one if you’re protecting your dorm room.) Fill the container with the grain of your choice (you could combine grain types) and repeat this 3 times while focusing on your intent:
“Count the grains, never the same. Count the grains, or leave in shame.”
The idea is that whatever unkindness that is trying to come into your house will first have to successfully count the grains before they can enter. But you’ve also cursed the grains so the number will always be different and thus impossible to count. This was originally a ward against evil spirits. Salt is very protective. This also works against theft, especially if you use caraway seeds. Stay safe everyone!

Top Ward Mistakes I
These are some common reasons why wards, even powerful ones, fail at times. I have noticed these over the years, through my mistakes and others.
Not enough layers: Wards are made of pure energy, and usually aren’t sentient- meaning they aren’t smart and usually don’t adjust to different attackers. Without the ability to adjust, attackers can get by with ease. Having multiple layers of wards helps prevent this. While layers will vary of course based on your needs, I always recommend three basic layers for a ward, going outwards to the inside: 1) non-detection, 2) offensive ward, 3) defensive ward. The reason for these particular layers being: an attacker can’t attack if it can’t find you. If they do find you, they are then dissuaded by a ward that attacks them. They will have to go through the ward that hurts them to even get to the ward that defends you, thus weakening them and making it harder to get through that final line of defense at the same time.
Too rigid: What shatters more easily when hit- a plastic case, or a rubber ball? The plastic case- why? Because it is super rigid and unable to bend; thus, just one concentrated hit could break through it with ease. This applies to wards as well- you don’t want your wards to be unable to bend- else they shatter under a concentrated hit. Being flexible doesn’t make a ward weaker- you can still have a super tough and thick ward that bends!
Not selective or specific enough: “Keep out malicious entities.” Okay, well what do you mean by malicious? Being as specific as possible is best when it comes to protections. Instead of just saying “malicious” how about- “those that would bring me nightmares”, “those that would harm me”. This also ties into the next point-
…From whose point of view?: Okay, you did it, you made your ward. “Keep out anything with malicious intent.” But the key is…who judges the malicious intent? A nasty entity could easily go, “this is good for me!” and bypass the ward. Additionally, an abusive entity who believes, from their point of view, that what they are doing is “helping” you, and thus not malicious, could easily bypass an unspecific ward. It is best to say something along the lines of, “Things I deem as a malicious intention.” That way, it is based on YOUR judgement alone, what YOU deem as bad, and thus it cannot be interpreted any other way by trickster entities.
A circular wall, or a sphere?: You made your ward- it’s selective, not super rigid, and you made sure the terms were from your point of view. And yet- it’s still easily bypassed! Bad Entities appear in your room, seemingly untouched by the wards. What could’ve happened? Well- this ability called “teleportation” exists. If your innermost ward is a circular wall- not filled in- then an entity could easily bypass your wards just by teleporting directly to you or directly into your space! To protect against this, you want your innermost ward to be like a sphere- filled in on the inside with protective energies as well. Thus, the constraints applying to the outer layers of your wards (no malicious intent from my point of view) are applied to your actual space as well- thus nullifying the teleporting ability, or dealing damage to any entities that manage to teleport inside anyways.
