did either of them know it would be the same as killing a beast? with slick fingers and glinting blades and the sickening crunch as rock meets skull?
Abel was a shepherd, his brother a farmer. they must have been familiar with death, with slaughter.
do you think Abel knew what Cain was doing to him?
maybe he worried as his brother approached him, gripping a jagged stone. but i think he stood and waited. to see what his brother would do, with a stone and nothing to use it on.
did he know that man could slay man, that his brother would be the first murderer?
did Cain imagine one of his livestock in his brother’s place? did Abel, in his final moments, feel like one?
he might have resisted. tried to run, to plead, to fight back. he wouldn’t have. he wouldn’t have known to.
he wouldn’t have known that the rock in Cain’s hand was something to fear. that hand had tossed him a skipping stone, once.
did he think that his death was a gift of love, simply because it came from his brother?

i wish there were more documentation games. like lemme be a scientist on an alien planet. i wanna have a little journal where i write observations about the flora, fauna, and customs on the native inhabitants and then go on to the next planet. no combat, or very combat optional. planets have different overall climates and danger ratings. you gotta maintain your ship, and assess the planet to determine what safety measures need to be put in place before you land. level-ups include automation of safety scans, making the ship sturdier so you don’t have to wash/repair it as often, and little miniature drones/rovers that you can have to the more mundane and menial work, or just to travel around on. idk i just wanna explore and document stuff, is that too much to ask?

i love having the shittiest memory known to man. all i have to do to listen to a song for the first time all over again is to remove it from my playlist, immediately forget it exists, and then rediscover it months to years later. it’s like a whole new song except without the intimidation of actually being new.

i’m gonna be totally honest, peeps taste like if marshmallows were sentient, hated themselves, and were trying with every fiber of their sugary beings to taste like anything they there than marshmallow. but, of course, they are marshmallows and their powers of material manipulation are limited. so they have to settle for tasting slightly not like marshmallow with the lingering taste of self-loathing.

i want so badly to understand the batman lore because i want to read the fan fiction and actually know who’s talking but there’s just.
so.
many.
people.
why are there so many robins? from what i’ve gathered i think one of them died, came back to life, and isn’t TECHNICALLY a robin anymore but kind of sort of still is? i have that one narrowed down to being either nightwing or red hood, but i DONT KNOW because i’m trying to keep track of another two dozen children whose hero names are just variations of Robin.
there’s also someone named Signal who can maybe i think see ghosts or something? who is he? where did he come from? was he also a robin?
i just need like a google doc or something with summaries of who everybody is, with personalities and generally agreed upon fanon descriptions, along with WHO IS CURRENTLY OR USED TO BE A ROBIN. (WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OF THEM)

i love leitmotifs so much. like. here’s this audio cue that, whether you consciously hear it or not, is associated with this character. it plays during their introduction, blends with other character’s motifs, and if they’re having a corruption of self? that leitmotif becomes a minor key baby!!
even in musicals, you can take the notes from the chorus of a character’s “i want” song and have them pop up again and again to remind us that Hey, This Is Important! This Moment Is Fundamental To This Character As A Person! It Is Going To Become Integrated Into Their Motivations Going Forward!
i ESPECIALLY love when you take this character’s leitmotif and alter it to use it for their narrative foil. like these two people are direct opposites, but can’t you see how inseparably connected they are? how they couldn’t be more alike if they tried? that maybe, if they’d been a little bit different or ever so slightly more or less lucky, that could be them standing on the other side of the fight?
PEAK.

one day you will outgrow the face handed down to you by your mother. you will not realize it until you’re violently handing it off to someone who looks a whole lot like you used to, whispering ‘be kind to it, be gentle with it’.

Who are you? I ask Nothing.
Existence laughs, and the air shakes like bells.
You know me, says Everything. We are inseparable friends meeting for the first time. The face of a coin turning to shake hands with its other side.
I miss you, I say. Can you miss someone you've never known?
Of course, says the World, it's what you're made for. To miss. To love.
I love you, I say like an apology. I love you, I love you, I love you.
The words echo like forgiveness.
I miss you, says Self. I love you more.

my sister got an easter basket and gave me her jellybeans and i ate a solid amount before i actually got to one i didn't like. black licorice. gross, i don't like black licorice but whatever i'll power through and eat it anyway. i've got the bad aftertaste of it now, so i grab another jellybean to mask the flavor. this was a mistake. at first it's just bad, but the flavor of the new jellybean grants my request to get rid of the lingering black licorice aura with too much furvor, and has turned the tables on me in a situation comparable to the granted wish of a sly genie. it coats my mouth, and i can feel it invading my nose as well, despite only having had the chance to chew it twice. i begin coughing against my will, my body recognising it as an aggressive attack before my mind can, and quickly deciding to purge all traces of it. i rush to the kitchen to spit it out either into a trash can or the sink, whichever i encounter first. vaguely, beyond a thick curtain of revulsion, i'm able to suss out some semblence of flavor besides 'biological attack'. muffled whispers of buttered popcorn. how? how can something as delicious as buttered popcorn be butchered and twisted so viscerally to be this far beyond recognition? i may never eat a jellybean again, traumatized from this event as deeply as i have been. i've had soap flavored, even rotten milk flavored jellybeans, but somehow the memory of those doesn't hold a candle to this monstrosity. at least they were in a joke package that gave some semblence of forewarning. but this... to be blindsided to viciously, lulled into a false sense of security and comfort by the orange easter egg they resided in, a verifiable trojan horse for its dastardly scheme against my tastebuds... it's barbaric. heed my warning, learn from my mistakes. be wary of jellybeans that come with no flavor labels.
