People really be like “I love Forbidden Romance” and by “forbidden” they mean forbidden by law and not in a “the law unjustly prevents the unions of interracial/queer/interreligious/multicultural couples” way, they mean it in a “we’re soulmates but I’m not allowed near her elementary school” way, and if you say “wow please stay away from me” (especially if you are that young yourself) they say “CENSORSHIP!!! PURITAN!! PRUDE!!! H*YS CODE!!!”

Isn’t a shitty interaction on this site if they aren’t spamming you and then saying “message me in private if you want to be appear like a decent person” and you find that they’ve disallowed people they aren’t following to private message them. Dunno if that’s a gotcha proving they just look to argue with strangers for funsies or they legit forgot their own blog settings lol

I’ve seen this comment a few times on my art here and on insta and I’m genuinely curious— WHERE did people get the idea that the Creature “just had creepy eyes”?? That Victor only ran away because the Creature’s eyes freaked him out?
I’ve seen people say this repeatedly and it couldn’t be further from the truth like. He is explicitly described as an eight foot tall cobbled together corpse with skin that barely covers his veins, yes his eyes are creepy but that would probably be the last thing anyone would notice about the Creature tbh 😭

I’m somehow now realizing: the Sun. Shocking if you are aware of the fact that I’m a fucking ghost. I’ve been depressed every second I have to spend looking out a window at a sunny day. “Just touch grass” no LISSEN I have actual important reasons I cannot go outside, and hey, I’m pissed too. Can’t leave my post or the entity will breach containment. But I take my chances whenever I can to get that sweet sweet solar radiation all on me.
Tea. Hot, unsweetened tea.
My family. At least the motehrfuckets who’ve really stuck around and earned the title. I’m including the dogs and cats in that too. And @company-and-co, you’re family. Now I’m getting teary eyed lol.
Music. How have I gotten this far in the list without saying music??? I really love music, it helps my creativity a lot, and I love sharing it with the people I like.
Making stuff. This is broad. Of course I love my art and my writing, but there’s other shit too. I kinda like cooking (hate dishes tho) and I’ve always been into baking even though I haven’t properly done it in a while (I just keep making myself fudge). There’s also less material forms of creation like the stuff I have in my head that hasn’t/can’t really be put to paper. I just made a spreadsheet for an idea that might never get past the planning stage, but I feel it’s worthwhile for its own sake, ya know?

I'm still in the degenerative phase where I'm like "oahhh i feeel baaad i want to make things but i knooow no one will care about them!!!" and it's like fuck man it's their own problem that they can't hop on this sexy shit I'm imagining all up in my head.
This is why making your favourite thing your "career" is a shit idea, at least for me, you just get to a point where you are neither getting paid nor are you enjoying the work because you're so anxious about literally nothing but also everything.

So yeah. I got back into Homestuck. And an issue that was a minor fixation when I was first into it has come back full force (especially now that I'm better at art/writing/worldbuilding).
Beforus. What the fuck is going on there.
Why does this question rattle along in my brain? Because like. For example, we have three Vantases: Karkat, Kankri, and the Signless (Alternian Kankri). But there's a fourth, unexplored character there. Beforan Karkat. I have always found that strange. Where is my son.
Sooooo, I was unable to get to the part of the comic pertaining to Pre-Scratch my first run around, so I might have to... actually read the comic in full. Oh god. But what I've seen of the Beforus trolls? Most of them aren't really to be taken seriously because their personalities are based on tumbles discourse. They're parodies, which is a shame. I think the idea of a world that coddles the lower rungs into submission instead of culling its population is intriguing.
My MAIN fixation? What are the Alternian Trolls fuckin DOING in Beforus??? We know that Feferi is the ruler, and that is why Beforus is structured the way it is, but what is going on with the others?
It's especially hard to decide with the characters who idolize their ancestors and thus their personalities/fashion reflect them (Terezi, Vriska, Eridan, etc.). They are incredibly influenced by the culture on Alternia to behave the way they do, and with Beforus having a different culture, would they be completely different?? More akin to their Beforan descendants???
None of this makes sense.
Like, we have Dualscar (Alternian Cronus), who I am enamoured with, but what's Beforan Eridan doing???
I'm revealing my shame here, I just wanna know how hot my favourite gets. But to puzzle out his new personality and design, I would have to take into account the rest of the trolls. That is a lot of work. wahhhh whahwahhhhh and I can't draw or write or worldbuild!! Ignore my earlier claim that I've gotten better at it, that was LIESSS.

Tagged by @bluecatwriter. I am not counting recently updated multi-chapter fics as recently published... Sorry for the late response, you tagged me during my therapy arc, and I thought I'd get back to you, but I did not because I was stalling until I'd posted a new fic... I posted weeks ago.
1). Fragments of memories from his infancy bothered Ares as he sat in Hephaestus' forge, waiting for the armaments of the next war.
2). You hadn’t anticipated such a charming creature.
3). Looking back at their relationship — if one could call it that — it had always been Vincent walking down his own path and her trailing behind him like a puppy.
4). Some nights, I stare at the gaslight, waiting for it to dim, for that monster to return as he often does to my bedside.
5). …I gasped as my back thudded against the wall, but before I could truly catch my breath, Harker’s lips pressed firmly against my own.
6). Count Dracula’s hand rests on my knee.
7). My dearest Mina,
It’s simply awful! Ever since you’ve left, everything in my life has seemed to take a treacherous turn.
8). Jonathan was acting skittish, and Mina couldn’t help but repeatedly notice the guilty glances he’d shoot her way, like a pup ready to be chastised.
9). “I killed her pet bird when we were young.”
10). You awaken shivering in bed, your body stripped naked of its clothes and any uncertainty of the horror this mere business trip has subjected you to.
I realize that I tend to have a line. And then a good follow-up line. Y'all ain't seeing the good follow-up lines here but I swear. Guess you'll just have to read every single fic to find out.

Does anyone else feel a sting of pain getting comments that go something along the lines of: "I thought these characters sucked, but you fixed them"?
Like... how is that gonna make me feel good? You just insulted my favourite characters and implied that I'm so bad with characterization that I rewrote the characters to fit my preferences. And your preferences, apparently.
And it's especially frustrating because I know that their initial dislike of the characters is based on misapprehension, and if they just... looked for longer than a minute, they'd know that the traits they like in my writing are there in the original.
EDIT: nah I’m not done. It’s even worse with like… “I hated [female character] because I thought she was a stupid damsel, but you managed to make her pretty interesting! but I guess that’s just because you’ve modernized it” as if I’m so garbage at writing that I can’t write in the era and as if it’s impossible for women before a certain year in history to have personalities and ambitions. Just ffffffuck off fuck off fuck off you misogynist ass.
