just remembered when i tried to come out to my ‘straight’ mom and she completely brushed me off saying that everyone likes women, and that she herself had a girlfriend in college who was supposedly the love of her life but they broke up, causing my mom to go on a bender.
during which she had a one night stand with my father that ended with her getting pregnant. but that yeah, this is universal, because who doesn’t prefer women, right?
i stared at her in silence for like ten minutes.

Hey, amidst the chaos of... everything on the internet, pay attention to Hawaii/Hawai'i!
There have been plans from a non Hawaiian organisation to build a 5 acre parking lot, 13 lot subdivision and a comfort station for tourists on the ridge of the sacred Pololū Valley!
This project doesn't acknowledge Pololū Valley as a wahi pāna (a celebrated and storied place in the cultural traditions of Hawaii/Hawai'i) and instead treats it as just plain land that can be sold to a highest bidder.
Pololū Valley is anything but that.

sick of dating apps i wanna meet someone the old fashioned way (a bartender gives me cryptic advice and i look up what he said and find a 3 hour lecture and the speaker sparks an interest in philosophy and ethics in me (and wow he's kinda cute) so i get on a 20 hour flight and barge into his office and he offers to teach me ethics in his down time because a librarian gave him cryptic advice)
