I’m reading a book with a questionable title and extremely questionable content which makes it impossible to post on social media about without it getting flagged 😬 but boy oh boy have I learnt a bunch of new words in Japanese

It's always so disappointing when sci fi and fantasy books call their languages "Basic" or "Common". No language is apolitical or universal: if they're all calling one language Basic, who made it that way? Why is THIS dialect "Common" and all the others are Special/Magical/Incomprehensible??? Show me even a hint of the politics, or give your language a real name
#It kills me the way Star Wars does this#Because the language is Galactic Basic Standard shortened to Basic but they have several different writing systems for it#So right out the gate it's like “Here's a standard language that we have either failed to standardize or is evolving into distinct dialects#I just imagine conversations like#Oh you write in Aurebesh how low class of you#Anybody who's anybody writes in High Galactic#How can you even read that Outer Rim crap~?#and then of course with all the different beings not all of them are even capable of communicating in Basic so really what was the point

ADHD pro tip: Use psychological warfare on yourself.
For example, in order to do long tasks, like folding laundry, I put on the Mario Hat:
The main feature of the Mario hat is that my headset does not fit over it, so when The Bees™ try to put me back in front of the screen, the headset issue forces me to remember why I put the Mario hat on, and back to the task I go
As a bonus, the Mario hat is also a very clear indicator to my housemates that business is getting done, and they have learned not to distract me when I'm wearing the "goofy-ass cosplay hat"
It's not stupid if it works.

Honeysuckle Cordial Part 1/?
There's a couple honeysuckle bushes in our yard. I want to remove them eventually because they're invasive, but I don't really have the time for that right now. So I'm going to go ahead and use them and worry about removing them later! @xitongsblog mentioned that honeysuckle can be used in recipes, so I thought I'd give it a try. I found a recipe for a honeysuckle cordial, basically a fermented soda. I've only ever fermented kimchi before so idk how well it'll turn out, but I'll keep y'all updated.
