It's me, hi! I'm the problem, its me!

Hi everyone! It's been a bit since I wrote any angst, and the muses wouldn't let me go with this one, so... there.

"But, Pacha, another angsty amnesia fic?" ! know, I know. But it's such a good trope with so much pain potential! You'll have to take amnesiac-star-crossed-lovers AUs from my cold, death hands.

Keep in mind that this is a wip, I'm not sure how long it will be, and therefore the rating will change. I will let you know if this happens.

When I read a fanfic I like, the author becomes a mini celebrity to me. So when an author with a work I like kudos’ or comments on my own fanfic I just-

I’m curious, who here thinks that Bagginshield is fully canon? I don’t care one way or another what Tolkien meant when he made the queerest of characters *cough* Bilbo *cough*. For me, my headcannon is all that truly matters, especially in Fannon works.

But deep down, I don’t know if Tolkien knew he was writing such a queer-coded character and I kinda doubt he was…But as previously stated, I don’t care much about canon in that regard.

The man himself wrote:

"I would draw some of the great tales in fullness, and leave many only placed in the scheme, and sketched. The cycles should be linked to a majestic whole, and yet leave scope for other minds and hands, wielding paint and music and drama."(Letters #131)

…So it is by our minds and hands that we create our headcanons, which are as valid as true canon. (By which I mean, Tolkien was full prepared for his works to be shaped and reshaped by the world at large, for better or worse. I am not saying I’ll go to the Tolkien Moot and claim Bagginshield was canon and that they got jiggy with it at one point or another.)

So, all this brings me back to my original pondering of if others think Bagginshield is truly, by Tolkien’s own intention, canon, or what? So, I’m gonna make a little pole to find out! I am curious and I’d love to read your whys and why nots!

I for one do not think it was intended, but I will go down with this ship and defend it to the grave…but if I am asked to defend its …scholarly validity (?) I do not think I am able to. But I will defend my heart. And my heart says they gay.

The Lord of the Rings will premiere in the US this summer! The show is scheduled to run at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s The Yard from 19 July to 1 September 2024.

Here's what you need to know:

previews from 19 to 25 July 2024

opening night on 26 July 2024

closing night on 1 September 2024

Times:

performances from Tuesdays to Saturdays at 7pm

performances on Sundays at 2pm

additional matinees on Wednesdays (1pm) and Saturdays (2pm)

Special performances:

Open Captioning: 21 August 2024 (both)

ASL Interpretation: 23 August 2024

Audio Description: 25 August 2024

"The Last Goodbye" Pippin animatic! The fact that Billy Boyd sings The Last Goodbye always makes it feel like a 'missing Pippin song' to me. The line "I saw the light fade from the sky" always reminds me of the moment in Gondor where Pippin sees the stars vanish behind the clouds of Mordor. This animatic is also directly based on/is a study of shots in ROTK-- so if you're really Deep Into It you might be able to pick out exactly what specific scenes I'm referencing. I may continue drawing out the full song, but I've had this opening bit in my head very vividly for a while.
